Due to medical appointments once a month in SF my husband and I are very content with this facility We are so pleased with the staff Their kindness and efficiency never fails EVERY time We are not particular about fancy We are content with not fancy It absolutely meets our needs and expectations

Nothing The bus stop is right in front of the motel We can get anywhere we want to go easily We generally park our vehicle on site and take bus all week Part of the fun

Hotel was better than expected. Ofcourse its a motel but we arrived at Midnight and got someone to help us out quick and friendly.elevator is rather small with luggage but at least there. We had a big nice bed and a minifridge to help us out for some cold drinks whenever we felt like it. Bathroom was fine. Location was perfect for us with public transport very close and if you feel like it, pier 39 van be walked

There were some open spaces around the door and the bathroom is slightly outdated but worked fine. Expect simple and you will get all you need

There are plenty of restaurants around this location. I love the parking spaces (although not guaranteed). The staff was very friendly. New cameras around the premises.

It's San Francisco, so don't expect quiet anywhere in the city. The towels they provide are very thin and small and you do have to track someone down for clean towels in exchange for dirty ones. The rooms are a little outdated and need some work; one had a broken shower curtin and no working vent or screen on the window. One room had a very old refrigerator and a flickering bathroom light, and our 3rd room smelled like jalapeños? But if you're going to be out most of the day, this place is great to sleep and door dash some treats. We took some lysol and clorox wipes for our own peace of mind :)

We love the fact that this motel offers us most of our most important needs Free parking Fridge/microwave Gives us options to eat in if not wanting to go out Bus stop in front Which takes us easily wherever we want to go Neighborhood feels very safe Lots of restaurants within walking distance Staff have been very kind and accommodating We are not about staying in fancy accommodations Prefer to spend our money on outings

Have been referred to UCSF medical facilities once a month We have found this motel meets all our needs beautifully Even though I generally only need to stay 2 days for doctor appointments We are able to stay a full week and make a nice vacation of trips As motel is affordable, close to bus, free parking,and nice staff We prefer to spend our money on outings rather than fancy accommodations The surf meets all our needs

Great value for the money, the rooms were clean, the fridge and microwave were appreciated and the staff were all friendly. The location is amazing, just a 10 min walk to the ocean with a view of alcatraz and the golden gate bridge, lots of restaurants and bars in the area and the hotel is always easy to find and the free parking is a huge plus in San Francisco! We would happily stay here again!

Sadly had a young family above us who insisted on rearranging the furniture for approx 2 hours each night from 9-11pm. Then woken at 5am to their children running around & yelling. Nothing to do with Surf Motel. Just inconsiderate guests.

Honestly I liked that it was clean , the front desk were super helpful when we arrived and when one of our keys weren’t working. It’s right around the corner of a taco shop and just a 10 min walk from a pizzeria.

The only kind of bad thing is it’s super limited in parking so if there’s no space you’ll have to park somewhere else. Luckily we got there when the lot wasn’t full just yet

Great location, perfect position to jump out and explore San Francisco. Good amenities nearby, eg supemarket

There was a guy in the next unit ranting about aliens reading his mind with x-rays the first evening. But he piped down before night, and no further noise, other than a little bit from the street

I didn't have big expectations but I really loved my stay here! The bed was big and so comfortable. The heating was not too loud to bother me while sleeping, so I had perfect temperature. The price was very good, location is perfect. The noise of the street wasn't loud in my room either.

I would have liked to have chance to leave the room a bit later. The rooms could have some room perfume/freshener.
