Everything! The external appearance of the property on arrival is impressive and imposing, sitting on a hill, amongst the relatively flat surrounding countryside. The property has been renovated to an extremely high standard, keeping all the old character and adding an intelligent mix of modern style. Our host was amazing - so welcoming and helpful, and rightly proud of their great achievement. The rooms are spacious, extremely clean and very beautiful, with original vaulted ceiling. the large terrace is a great place to relax and enjoy the views and sunset. Last, but certainly not least, was the amazing breakfast! Already laid out on our table when we arrived - home-made cakes, ricotta, jams, plus many other delights. In addition, you can choose eggs cooked as you like them, yogurts, granola, etc etc... We took a doggy bag with us, which more than sufficed for lunch.... Only a 10 minute drive from Matera, this accommodation is a much more comfortable and spacious choice, rather than dragging suitcases up and down the beautiful nearby town....

The host was extremely friendly providing a lot of extremely useful information about sites to visit and parking in Matera and recommending restaurants, also providing us with a map. The accommodation itself is very beautiful and unusual and everything is provided for your comfort such as complimentary water and coffee. The breakfast was incredible- each table had the most amazing spread of locally made and sourced food. The host certainly made us feel very special. The location of the property is also very convenient being extremely quiet but also close to the centre of Matera.

The place is absolutely fabulous, a farm looking like a medieval castle amongst the picturesque valleys of Materra. Spotlessly clean, modern renovated rooms, very well equiped. Gorgeous stylish breakfast with home made cakes, jams, juices. Capuccino with fresh milk from the farm, and all other kinds of brekfast types according to the wish of the gest. The family owners and especially Beatrice who welcomed us are very warm, friendly, informarive and cooperative. Another advantage, Beatrice and her husband speak perfect english. It is a fairy tale place for sure.

This is a magical place,. literally a medieval castle turned into a charming hotel. The rooms are magnificent, the entire place is breathtaking. Location is perfect, a quick 10 mins outside of Matera, enabling easy access while a quite place away from the hustle bustle. The hosts are fantastic - a young couple that runs the place and we're super friendly. The breakfast (home made) was one of those where you figure you're just going to skip lunch because it's too good to leave anything on the table. Can't wait to return !

It is a fantastic place, with a good vibe and great views. The owners are super friendly and hospitable and they made sure we feel welcomed. They give a lot of information about Matera, places to visit, where to eat, and most importantly where to park the car. Breakfast was superb, one of the best we had on this trip - all prepared by Mama. We loved the super comfy bed and the pillows. There is a coffee machine in the room which was great for us as breakfast starts at 8 am.

The only small thing was the size of the shower cabin, a bit too small for a large man but oh, well not all men are 2 meters high.

This place is phenomenal! The rooms are comfortable and clean. The entire property is high quality, renovated with great taste. The hosts were extra kind and helpful, sharing superb guidance on the best way to explore Matera (which were extremely helpful and saved us a lot of efforts and time ensuring we don't miss anything) , as well as great advice on restaurants. The breakfast was exceptional : all home-made and delicious. Definitely a place we'd like to come back to for a longer stay :) . Recommend !

Breakfast was very generous and loved the cappuccinos every morning. First day, there was a delicious cheesecake that was the owner’s mother’s recipe. Hosts were very friendly and helpful in showing us a map of Matera and what to visit and recommended restaurants in Matera. Location was quiet except for the wind on our occasion. Parking was available. Would have been cool to stay in the tower room. We stayed in the rooms in another building just a short drive from the Tower area.

Shower leaked. Didn’t know they were located on a dairy farm so there was the smell of dairy on their beautiful grounds. Did not want to be outside. Room was adequate but no decor.

The room was spacious, well laid out and decorated tastefully. We loved the quiet and rural location which afforded peace and tranquility away from busy Matera, but only a 10 minute drive into Matera. The young couple who ran the family-owned masseria were delightful and helpful with suggestions re parking and restaurants for Matera. Beatrice had excellent English speaking skills, making communication easy. Breakfast in their vast breakfast room was plentiful with freshly made yoghurt and milk from their own dairy cows, fruit, Italian biscuits, pastries,and bread, and also included eggs - scrambled, fried or as an omelette, espresso coffee, tea and juice. We also loved the property’s architecture, gardens, and the huge patio area with lounges for sitting outdoors with a drink.

Nothing, really! Everything was perfect. An addition of a pool in the future would be welcome relief from the heat of summer.

This was great accommodation with bucket loads of history, about 5km's outside of Matera. Beatrice the owner couldn't have been a better host, she provided us with some great advice on where to eat, where to visit, the local history. The icing on the cake was her flexibility, due to us having to leaving the room in the early hours of the following morning to catch our flight, she went out of her way to prepare our breakfast the night before, this was then placed in our room whilst we went to watch the stunning sunset over the ravine towards Matera...Exceptional service we will be back for a longer stay!!

Beatrice and her husband (unfortunately we did not catch his name) were by far the most welcoming hosts we encountered in Puglia! Beatrice's husband came and found us when we took the wrong turn and helped direct us back to the property for check-in. Beatrice provided us with fantastic recommendations on where to eat and the best attractions in Matera, particularly the history of Matera film in Casa Noha. We stayed in a deluxe room that is located around the corner from the main building of the Masseria. There was plenty of space to park outside of the room and a short walk down the side steps for breakfast in the morning. The beautiful Masseria is located off the beaten track on the family farm and is only a 15 minute drive from the main town of Matera. The breakfast was also exceptional with all of the food served homemade by the owner's mother. We would have loved if there was a pool on site but we will stay here next time we return to Matera and recommend it to everyone we know regardless!
