Reception were great, great to have parking. The spa experience was good although they changed my time and didn’t have email or missed call/voicemail as they said.

The breakfast was terrible. Witnessed the manager having a go at the girl server as tables weren’t cleaned. Unprofessional. She was obviously very stressed. No pastries, toaster not working, veg sausages had to be asked for and took a long time to come. And had to ask again for them. All tables were full on arrival of dirty dishes, had to move clean cutlery from another table and wipe our table down ourselves. The staff obviously stressed. Coffee was terrible. Orange juice warm. Just wish we hadn’t paid for it.

The room was good, a little dark as the windows were very high up in the room we had, but there were plenty of lighting options in the room. The bathroom was spacious and clean. Then communal areas were fitted out with quality furniture and there was plenty of seating in all areas. The two bars were both excellent and the staff efficient and friendly. Breakfasts were good and had food for a wide variety of tastes.

TVs in the bar area also used for breakfasts showed the news with no audio but non had subtitles on, which was a bit annoying. The whiskey bar, was closed on a Thursday evening, this was my preference bar as it was furnished like a gentleman's club and was the quieter bar with a more relaxed atmosphere. Smokers were always gathered around the two entrances to the hotel and into the small undercover pre foyer area and you had to walk through them on entering and leaving the hotel. It also meant that this area often had cigarette ends littering the area.

Spacious room with kitchenette, handy with family. Spotless modern hotel. Breakfast was ok but the maitre d was so kind and remembered us and the children each morning. Dinner in the chop bar was lovely as were the drinks, bit more expensive but very nice.

Bed itself was comfy but pillows very lumpy., sofa bed was fine for our 6 year old but would be the limit as quite uncomfortable and unable to take our weight. Be careful about parking as the spaces behind the hotel get taken up quite early in evening, and would need to go to overflow. Wherever you park it woul cost you £12. As a single woman I was apprehensive at walking back from overflow so managed to get a space on the street the night we missed a space, £5 until 10am the next morning if you park after 6pm..

The room was good and satisfied our expectations. Location was also ok. I liked the fact that the hotel had a fitness centre which had a few cardio training machines and regular dumbbells.

It would have been good to have a breakfast to complement the hotel facilities, it was quite limited and monotonous so became rather boring after a few days at the hotel. The dining area also had a funny and quite offensive smell and the waiters had a cleaning station in the middle of the dining area which was a sore sight in my opinion. Everything else was good except for the dining experience at breakfast. The gym was also not well equipped but I understand the room is small

The hotel is located in a very nice building and it is close to the main area of the city with the Art gallery down the road. The entrance is impressive, modern and has good design. As we visited just before the Christmas holidays the decoration was lovely. Staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel room was clean and tidy with great ambiance, the bathroom was relatively big and comfortable to use for 3 people.

Breakfast included gluten free options, but would be nice to see some alternative options for people with other dietary restrictions. Overall, still great selection of breakfast dishes and good value for the price. The hotel room had a TV, however there were some discoloured sections on the screen.

Comfy bed and layout of room were great. Location good for town. Request sofa bed bedding met and bed made up. Parking suggestion for Bon Accord a good one.

The kitchen area could have been considerably better. Not satisfied that no soap supplied or washing up liquid etc for cleaning dishes. Given this and no dishwasher more dishes, cups and glasses should have been supplied. No information leaflets given for microwave. For room price cutlery and dishes could have been of much higher quality too.

Could see the shower needs a good scrubbing/bleach applied to grout to remove the mould and glass lamp shades didnt look clean. Reception tried to upgrade us for extra, the benefits being a larger bed and bigger room. We personally thought our basement double was a king and the room was decent size so would have paid extra when not necessary.

We arrived very early in the morning after taking the night train from London. It was a great thing to arrive at the Sandman then. We got to check in early, had a very helpful receptionist and great room. Good size, clean and quiet. The receptionist recommended a lovely seafood restaurant, one of the best meals we had on the two week trip. As was the stay at the Sandman. We went to the spa and had a massage, would really recommend doing this during your stay. Good location with walking distance to the train station even with a large suitcase. Nice breakfast. Overall really great stay with very helpful and nice staff.

The room was a bit cold and we weren't sure how to regulate the temperature. There weas some confusion with the spa times. The scheduled time suddenly changed without proper warning. It did work out and both got a lovely spa treatment.

The hotel is incredible, from the minute you set foot inside until the moment you leave it was nothing short of amazing. The reception area is beautiful and my children loved the umbrella decor. The whole place is spotlessly clean. We were given rooms on the ground floor beside the car park which was excellent for us as it meant we had to do little walking (which was good for me as I'm disabled) and it meant less chance for my disabled child to run off. I requested our 2 rooms next door to each other if possible and they were directly next to each other. The rooms were bigger than I expected, the bathrooms were stunning and we absolutely loved the waterfall shower! It was even better than there was a traditional shower as well just in case it was needed. The shower partition was spacious and had plenty room for me to shower my youngest child with ease. We were pleasantly surprised that there was a microwave in the room as well as a mini fridge (which came in useful for a carton of milk for our teas and coffees!). The TV was a good size, which yes wasn't a necessity but later at night while we were relaxing it was a great addition and made us that more comfortable while we relaxed before sleeping. The beds are the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in! The first time in a long time I haven't woken up sore from lying in bed. The carpark was small, which we knew from reading the website, but had enough space for a good amount of cars. We got a space easily and we used public transport in the city. The hotel is also in a great position in the city so the walking distance isn't very far from the main sites in the city aka union square shopping centre, Union street and his majesty's theatre. Our room looked out onto the street at the front of the hotel which wasn't an amazing view but for a ground floor room it was pretty good all things considered. We also had some problems with the booking (not from the hotel, it was booking.

The bathroom had some orange mould and the edge under the marble in the sink wasn't very clean. I'm unsure that a general clean would be able to fix these and it's a bit more of a maintenance issue. The only other problem we had was the TV didn't work very well and the included Google Chrome wouldn't connect to any of our phones unlike the one in the other room. I notified staff of this and they thanked me and said they would get someone to take care of it. Otherwise we had no problems with the hotel or staff.

Having dog friendly rooms that were such a great standard was refreshing we all felt comfortable and spoilt. The staff is very helpful and kind. All round a welcoming experience.

The parking lot was full so we were given instructions to the overflow car park. There was roadworks so we were diverted and in the confusion we went into the LEZ by mistake. Not the hotels fault but it would have been helpful if they were aware of the diversion when directing us to the overflow carpark, we may have avoided paying the LEZ. Some vegan items on the room service menu.
