We were in the heart of the city. Very easy to navigate around after we arrived. Fantastic restaurants and lots of shopping. The daily market is right outside the door! Giulia (Julia) was a great Host! She was always determined to make our stay pleasant. Later in the afternoons, the local shops and restaurants opened. There is easy access to a bunch of great places to see.

We arrived in the middle of a downpour at the end of the market day. Since it was the first time for rain in months, it was chaotic and there was a big mess around the area. With patience from our cab driver and a local hotel, me got to our destination. The following days were great!

Check in: Easy, personalized, smooth. Our host, Paolo, received us warmly! Room: I loved the decoration, classic, tasteful, high ceilings, lots of space, big windows with two small balconies, comfortable beds (they even prepared a cozy baby bed for my daughter!) I loved waking up in the morning to the site of the market in the street right outside out room. GREAT location. Breakfast: Perfect. Sweet and savory options; a coffee machine, in a sunny setting.

I recommend that the host propose ear plugs since the street was really loud during the night (not his fault and nothing he can control) But this idea would help offer a better nights sleep in such a lovely setting.

The hosts are amazing! Paolo was very helpful, helped us with everything and gave us lots of recommendations. Our apartment was very stylish, perfect Italian style, with lots of interesting antique furniture, it had two rooms with two balconies. The hall for breakfast was amazing, with balcony and market view. The atmosphere is special. Good location, 5-10 minutes to all the major and architectural sights, street with bars and shops, bus station. We loved it and would definitely come back!!! Grazie mille!

The experience was way beyond my expectations! Super well located, easy to arrive at any time, when you enter the first thing you notice is the smell of comfort and care. Excellent room, comfortable, very clean! Great breakfast with good variety. The plus was the staff: Julia was the highlight from start to finish: kind, careful, always with a smile on her face, sharing great places to visit, to eat, excellent beaches and important facts for those who want to know more about Sicily.

The rooms are located in an old but very charming building. Decor with soul. Interesting decorative elements that put you in the mood of Sicily and the old days: beautiful porcelain, lamps, masks or an old sewing machine. In the room you will find everything you need for a short trip. A huge plus for the kettle and teas. My heart was stolen by the delicious breakfasts - something different every day with delicious sweets. The charming owner cares about making her guests feel at home. We had the use of a large terrace from where we could watch the street market. For people who don't like the hustle and bustle I wouldn't recommend the windows on the market side, but for everyone else who wants to immerse themselves in the culture and see what daily life is like the perfect place. Everywhere is close by.

There were no downsides.

The location was an easy walk to centro and many sights. The historical fish market took place in the same neighborhood. What a cultural delight to watch from our balcony. The room was comfortable with all we needed for our 2 day stay. Our hostess was the best part of the stay. She was so welcoming and warm. The breakfast was superb with many typical Sicilian breakfast items. She was extremely attentive to our needs and comfort. Our Italian is quite limited, and Sicilian dialect even more so, but she took extra effort to communicate with enough English so we could understand her help and information.

This is no reflection on the hotel- the fish market will affect travel to the hotel. If you stay- and i you absolutely should, communicate with the owner for best arrival times. The roads close during the market making it challenging to get there. There are several stairs to rooms with no elevator. This was not a problem for us, but something to take note of.

The hosts, Paolo & Alessandra. They were warm, friendly and accommodating, and did everything they could to make my stay comfortable and convenient. The home is a clean comfortable historic home centrally located in Catania, within a block of supermarkets, restaurants and transportation. For those interested in the open market, look out your window, it is right there!

The accommodation was outstanding. It was a suite with two rooms and bathroom. It was close to everything. Marisa and Paolo were absolutely brilliant. They were so helpful but especially when somebody took my bag with my passport. This is a topnotch B+B

I'm not keen on Catania. Wherever you walk you are accompanied by rubbish under your feet and swirled around by the wind. It's a great pity; Via Etnea is a magnificent street with lovely piazzas and buildings but spoiled by rubbish. I did find a relatively clean street with dozens of attractive bars and restaurants right beside the B+B

Breakfast was wonderful. There were hard boiled eggs, meats and cheeses, pastries, cappuccino/espresso machine and juices. The owner Paolo and his wife were very gracious hosts and helped us with very good advice on how to travel and places to see. They have a street festival right outside the front door which displayed Sicilian culture with various goods to sell and local seafood and produce. The Metro was very close and taking the coach bus to Taormina was easy. Returning from Taormina on the train was just as easy. The town square was very energetic.

The stairs are difficult if you aren’t in good shape.

Close to metro station. Nice & friendly host. Good breakfast, with items changing each day. Big shared balcony on top floor. The room was spacious, but a tad dated. Just a block from the Stesicoro metro station, and a four minute walk to the main pedestrian corridor. Good restaurants on a atreet just around the corner.

There is a large street market in the neighborhood every day, making it a challenge to navigate with luggage! Area appears sketchy, but we never felt unsafe. A block away and its a different world...pretty much like all of Sicily! ;-)
