We lived in a suite which was spacious and well equipped with basically everything we needed. We really loved the terrace and we enjoyed our breakfast there. It was great private island. We loved the bathtub in the terrace! Their bed is incredibly comfortable! The pillows too. The staff and services were amazing! We were so well taken care of! I also like their take on sustainability. It is a very boutique hotel, only 4 rooms and they do fantastic job to take care of guests the best they can.

A few things just to keep in mind: there are very few outlets in the room, so for multiple devices plan the charging :) Also there is a club outside and on Saturdays it goes until 2 AM. However hotel provides ear plugs to help the guests.

Absolutely fabulous boutique hotel in Oaxaca. We stayed here for 5 nights on our honeymoon and couldn't have asked for a more perfect place. The hotel has only 4 rooms, two upstairs and two downstairs. The upstairs rooms are INCREDIBLE and both have a private patio with an outdoor bathtub. The breakfast is spectacular and served on the private patio. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! In fact, we'd come all the way back to Mexico just for this hotel!

Casa Carmen is a beautiful place to stay: we stayed an entire week and loved this oasis. The staff is extremely pleasant, warm, professional, and willing to help out in all kinds of ways!!! Our room (on the ground level) was immaculately clean and we loved having the privacy of the patio. The upstairs rooms and patios are larger (but not available for our trip). The artwork is sublime; we felt like we were sleeping in a gallery. Breakfast is made to order from a creative menu featuring Mexican dishes as well as oatmeal, avocado toast, and yogurt.

We definitely heard some traffic at night and music on the weekend, however, it didn't bother us. If we shut the bathroom door, it helped to mute the sounds. We've stayed at other hotels in Oaxaca, both large and small, and some noise is part of life in an environment such as this.

Perfect room, very friendly staff and perfect breakfast options. They really go the extra mile to make the stay most comfortable.

If you arrive by car, this might be important: The only thing I didn‘t like is that on booking it says they offer parking but they don‘t. They recommend parking places near the hotel but they are soooo pricy and we paid over 100€ for 2 nights parking. So this is the only downside when coming by car

Beautiful boutique bed and breakfast. The staff are so kind and welcoming. Special thanks to merium. The rooms are spacious with an outdoor extension. The entire hotel and rooms have amazing art and is picturesque. The little touches made all the difference. The hotel team organised our trip from the airport. And the hotel was helpful with organising tours and telling about things to do in town. We highly recommend Casa Carmen if you are staying in Oaxaca City.

The air-conditioning position causes the air to blow on your face. This made us feel a little sick. We opened the door but that allowed mosquitos into the room. These are personal preferences but are things we did not like.

We loved our stay at Casa carmen reforma! Our room was "carmen" and it was amazing. Clean, nice, and felt so Chic! Having an outside bathtub on the patio was awesome. We use it a lot! We celebrated our anniversary there so it was super special. The staff made us feel at home. Especially Gustavo!! (Who we saw the most), but every employee was always helpful and nice. The breakfast was so good. We will definitely come back.!

Casa Carmen was perfection; from the stylish Mexican aesthetic, to the excellent service, to the delicious breakfast! The location was within walking distance of all the city sights we wanted to see. The bed was comfy and the room was spotless. I would definitely stay again.

Street noise and barking dogs could be heard in the night, but ear plugs were provided, so it was no big deal.

A quiet Boutique Hotel…Almost like a large home vs a Hotel… only 4 rooms tucked in an open air beautiful space on Reforma street… We adored the staff! Extremely attentive to my family & breakfast every morning was a delight with their Chef Ivan! A lot of delicious- ness came out of his small but thorough kitchen! Yummy add ons if asked ! The room was lovely and a huge bed … cool bathroom… Plenty of storage… LOVED the mini fridge with beer & goodies ! Alejandro is gracious & so willing to assist you! His English was very helpful! My son in law speaks Spanish which was a life saver! Clean & great walking location! A few issues but we were flexible!

Considering it all… There were issues with the WI-FI for a few days but a technician came out & it helped! The upstairs veranda deck rooms are more susceptible to street noise but they have Thick glass doors that help! Sitting outside with a beverage was fabulous though ! Never got Hot Water - HOT enough for a outdoor tub experience on the deck… My daughter was disappointed! Inside it took 10-15 mins to get Hot for face wash but shower was quicker ! If you want an active place this is not it- no bar or late night vibe! We did have a wedding reception next door that thumped till 2:15AM but that is not on them! We enjoyed the chill vibe !

Wow! beautiful property, made us feel like it was our home. The genuine reason was the staff, especially Miriam. They went out of their way to make us feel so special. Breakfast was amazing! we were treated to a whole range of Oaxacan specialities, and amazing home made salsas. Best Hot Chocolate we had. The rooms were beautiful, very comfortable beds and lots of outdoor space to relax in. Fantastic location, close walk to some great restaurants and bars. We were able to find parking quite easily on the street. Absolutely loved it, and wish we had stayed a little longer. A true gem of a find.

I loved everything about this beautiful hotel. With only 4 rooms It’s set up to feel more like a home you have been welcomed into. The entire staff was exceptional and went out of their way to attend any need. I loved my room, the huge patio and floor to ceiling windows which bathed the room in natural light. It was such a wonderful place to relax after a day exploring the city. I stayed at a few other boutique hotels while I was in Oaxaca and this was by far my favorite. I will definitely be back.
