Communication with Kelapa Retreat and Spa prior to our stay was easy and the responses via email were prompt and helpful. Kelapa Retreat and Spa was everything we were looking for; it was quiet, not commercialized, the staff were helpful and attentive. Kelapa Retreat and Spa is set in a coconut tree plantation and the coconuts are harvested by the staff and used in the restaurant. The whole property is clean and tidy, plants, flowers and trees are abundant throughout the whole site providing a beautiful environment with lots of natural shade. The restaurant was lovely, and the food choices offered a range of western and Indonesian choices. We stayed in a garden pool villa which provided privacy and comfort. We were able to step straight from the bedroom area into the pool for that early morning dip. The main pool and garden overlooked the ocean and there were a few steps from the garden down to the beach. the beach was clean and not crowded and was also overlooked by the restaurant, all ideal places from which to watch the sunsets. The reception staff were welcoming (and reception was open 24 hours) and were helpful in sourcing drivers when we wanted to visit some of the sights in the north of Bali. The spa offered a range of massages; and other spa treatments and we thoroughly enjoyed listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach as we received our massages in an "open" treatment room, (ie there were two treatment rooms available and one had an open outlook to the sea as there was a half wall and no window - privacy was not compromised so dignity was still maintained). There are a lot of steps throughout the retreat which could be challenging. We had arranged with Kelapa Retreat and Spa to be picked up from the airport and to be transported back to the airport at the end of our stay. As we had to leave at 5:30am to get to the airport, Kelapa Retreat and Spa provided us with a breakfast box and water to use while we travelled to the airport.

There was nothing at Kelapa Retreat and Spa that I didn't like. However, visitors need to be prepared for the journey to get there. Whilst it is worth it one you are there be prepared for the trip from the airport in Denpasar up to the west of Bali. I admire the drivers who picked us up and dropped us back at the airport because the traffic is challenging - to say the least. It does take at least two hours to get there, but this will also depend on the traffic an could be longer - but worth it in the end

this place is phenomenal. houses surrounded by jungle and offering complete isolation. the staff is very friendly and ready to help all the time. It's actually a waste of time to explore the island. Better to lock yourself in this hotel with your books.

The most unic and amazing resort that we have been. Everything it was perfect and it has exceeded all our expectations. The villa was clean and we had all what we needed (towels, water, toothbrush, fruits,...). This place is like heaven for us, we had so much privacy and we will come a second time for sure. The pool from our villa it was clean, with a lot of intimacy, the only thing is that the water was a litlle cold in the evening but the rest of the time we enjoyed. Staff from resort is very friendly and helpful, always there. Also there are activities every day and you can go to the ocean. I recommend to everyone who want to have some quality time, privacy and lots of nature. THE BEST 😍

Our family stay at Kelapa Retreat & Spa was truly one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. Located in West Bali, the journey was a bit longer, but it was absolutely worth it. The retreat itself is stunning, with beautifully designed villas – I stayed in a Garden Pool Villa, and my parents had a Beach View Villa. Both were fantastic. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The peaceful and quiet surroundings made for a very relaxing vacation. The food was excellent, and the service was top-notch – I've rarely experienced such thoughtful hospitality. We traveled as a family, and our driver, Putu, was amazing. He was super friendly and gave us a great cultural experience, showing us around and explaining everything in detail. He even planned the tour so we could avoid tourist crowds, making the experience even better. We felt very close to Balinese culture, and the retreat even gave us the chance to release baby turtles on the beach, which was a truly special moment. The beach was breathtaking, and the sunsets were unforgettable. On our last day before departure, the staff set up a special table for dinner right on the beach, which made for a truly magical evening. The service was outstanding even before our arrival, with excellent communication via WhatsApp. I highly recommend this retreat – it was simply perfect in every way!

Set in a beautiful untouched area of West Bali. An ideal location to totally relax and unwind. All the staff were wonderfully courteous and extremely polite and helpful. There were features nights during our stay to experience Balinese dance and music also a special barbecue night. We had a day tour of West Bali and Putu our driver and guide was the best.

To get to this paradise there is a 2 to 3 hour journey from the airport but it is worth the journey. The Resort does provide a personal taxi ( at an extra charge) by I would recommend getting the hotel arranged taxi. All the drivers are charming and well experienced in navigating the road to the resort.

in April we rested in this beautiful hotel, we really liked everything, the staff was very happy and friendly, they were very attentive to us, and resolved all issues as they came up. The room was clean, our water bottles were replenished every day, in the evening they gave us surprises in the form of flowers on the bed and incense on the terrace, it’s very nice that you give surprises to your guests. The food is very tasty in the restaurant, they prepare it for breakfast in the morning and at lunch and dinner to order, fruit every day for breakfast, swimming in the ocean is dangerous, since the waves are big every day and it’s better not to take risks, I once took a risk and went under the wave lol, so it’s better to use the pool. The drivers we came across were good and kind, they opened the doors to the car and tried to please us, there was also water in the car every time, which is necessary in hot weather. The Balinese people are very smiling and friendly. We went for a massage twice, we liked it, the first time we had a relaxing massage, then a massage with hot stones. The girls are professionals and know how to relax the body. The administrators were always in-touch and when we wrote to them with our questions via WhatsApp, they resolved any issue. Thanks to them for this. The area is very beautiful and well-groomed. The only negative is that the hotel is located far from attractions and the airport. But there are many other advantages for that. We are very glad that you were satisfied with the service and staff at this wonderful hotel. See you again! Thank you !

Location is far from most things.

I spent 8 days at Kelapa. I enjoyed each and every moment. Great location. Staff was impeccable (reception, restaurant, spa, gardeners, cleaners). It's a great place for couples, very romantic. But I would definitely recommend it also to solo travellers (as I was..), if you want to unplug, get away from stress and routing, being pampered, spend a few days relaxing with your favourite book. Special mention goes to Ardi the chef. The food was just amazing. I would also suggest participating in the various activities organized by the hotel. I really hope to go back! Thanks again for a great experience.

It’s far away from the airport, 3 hours trip

Absolutely amazing place. A remote corner of Paradise, with everything one could wish for a relaxing and tranquille holiday: villas with private pools, pools, Spa, private beach, lush gardens, yoga barn, excellent food, daily activities and very friendly people. It is the perfect dream of a place away from noise and rush.

Friendly warning for the travelers with kids and for the ones looking to party on the beach: the retreat is far from any clubs and attractions. It is rather a place to completely disconnect and relax away from hustle and bustle. Bring books.
