Lovely rooms, both with sea views and in excellent condition. Friendly staff. Good location right opposite the beach and walking distance into Ryde.

Would have loved more vegan options for food - yoghurt and cereals and more fruit for breakfast would have been great. Lunch only had one option which was battered banana, which although tasty, I would have much preferred some healthier options. Do expect some noise from the pub downstairs as very noisy through the ceiling until 10.30pm - to be expected when staying at a pub, but noting for those planning an early night, you may not get to sleep straight away!

The bath! With jets - Nice roomy bathroom . Exceeded expectations. Including toiletries. Thank you Particularly soothing after walking all day.

Got to get that wood-burner going! Particularly in winter season. Would have kept me in the bar/purchasing more jamieson I suspect. Or is it just for show?! / aesthetic prop... Either I'd have spent more than the logs cost. And, would have enhanced my stay there. I wouldn't have even mentioned (or brought attention to) that the back door was insecure. Made no difference to.us.

The view from the room was absolutely beautiful where we caught the sunrise and had a view of the Spinnaker Tower(Portsmouth), bathroom as neat and warm. The breakfast included was wholesome and we had dinner one night which was really good too. Nice touch with the classical radio in the room and the staff were friendly and helpful.

At night, it gets a little difficult to get to the hotel(if you do not have a vehicle). It is either the main road(no footpath) or the pathway from the beach(no light up till a certain point). SO we had to plan and get back earlier than we liked.

Lovely place - food was exceptional & staff friendly & helpful. We chose it as a base for a few days while we were on the Island to be able to clear out my late aunt's flat - it was a 5 minute drive away. Our room had a spa bath, which was a lovely extra as we were aching at the end of each day after clearing the flat

Beds were too soft for my liking - I like my mattresses firm. The cups weren't cleared away from our room & the water wasn't replaced, but it was very quickly resolved by the Manager (Rob) who was fantastic.

The staff were amazing - a special thanks to Alex who was so thoughtful and kind - he set the tone for the whole stay by being lovely! Carol(ine!) who was a joy at breakfast and to Marie for making everything so spick and span. We loved everything - the food (homemade bread of dreams) to sea views, quiet clean rooms, to an excellent gin selection. Thank you.

We couldn’t fault it… maybe some people might feel disappointed it is by the road but it is very quiet and you look straight out to sea.

Lovely spot - nice seaviews from our room and the pub's outdoor seating area. Breakfast was tasty and a nice selection of items. We also had dinner here on the evening we arrived, which was also good. Room was clean and comfortable.

Room was just a little tired e.g. there were curtain hooks missing so the curtains didn't quite close around the lovely bay window, and there was some water staining on the ceiling from a (presumed) previous leak.

Great location, easy to find and plenty of parking. Our room was very comfortable with nice decor and great sea views. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Really good breakfast included in the price, lots of choice and just delicious. Great service too. Nice little extra touch with fresh water in the room each day and fresh milk provided on request for tea/coffee in the room. We had our evening meals at the pub too as the food was so good and there was plenty of choice. Some of the best food we have had in a long time.

no negatives but maybe a few extra teabags / sugar etc = although when we asked, it wasnt a problem for them to provide. shower wasn’t the best - it did the job but could have been a bit more powerful, not sure that there is much can be done as its an older property and I guess older plumbing.

A lovely relaxing place to stay for a few nights away. Right on the coastal path so great for walking; a really good place to explore the rest of the Isle of Wight from and a great place to swim in the sea too! Lovely food, great selection of drinks and lovely staff. The breakfast is exceptional, great vegan choices too and all bread is home baked. Just perfect.

Nothing!

Location is wonderful for its views across the Solent. Staff are always helpful and friendly. Rob’s legs don’t stop , he’s always ensuring you and other guests have exactly what they want !!!!

When booking , thought we had the room with the bay window but still had a great view. Realise due to time of year that it was closed some evenings which was also a shame as the food is really good and we would have used the Boathouse for our evening meal.

Location is great as it is a few steps to a lovely promenade walk which leads all the way into Ryde past the park with lovely sea views all the way. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. The room was nicely furnished and the bed comfortable. The cooked breakfast was excellent, best I have had with plenty of interesting choices. I didn’t eat lunch or dinner as I was spending my time with family who live on the island but the menu is certainly very tempting.

A few minor repairs would help in the decor of the room and bathroom.
