Great location in the heart of the historic city center, very clean and well-equipped room, super-friendly and helpful staff at the reception and in the breakfast restaurant, excellent breakfast.

The shower cabin is very small, the drain pipes (for the bathroom sink, shower and toilet) are smelly, so the bathroom was smelly most of the time. The pipes need to be cleaned or a fragrant room spray might also help.

My superior room was beautiful, clean, comfortable and tremendous with a beautiful fresco ceiling. Breakfast on the terrace was real nice. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

If you have a car, do not stay here as trying to find parking everyday was a nightmare. The front entrance is a big turnoff. It was dark, insufficient signage and very unwelcoming. But once inside, the hotel is nicely decorated and laid out.

Excellent location, very clean, fresh tasty varied, delightful breakfast with home made delicacies added in and the most wonderful staff you can ever hope to meet in a hotel. Starting from the receptionist guy who welcomed us on arrival, the receptionist girl who offered me to use her phone when mine was not working, Sonia who handled our check out Stefania the girl at the breakfast room who simply goes out of her way to delight the guests and everybody else we met. This was our second visit to Hotel Manganelli and we are already planning our next one. A must hotel if you are staying in Catania.

The room was really nice, the hotel is located in a former palace and the rooms still preserve the original paintings on the ceiling. The room was really spacious and clean, the beds were comfy. The hotel is located very close to the city center of Catania and you can reach the main touristic attractions by foot in just 10 mins. The hotel also had a private parking area inside the courtyard and for just 14 EUR per night you could keep your car safe.

There were not so many options for breakfast, so I think this can be improved.

Excellent communication with the property via email before I arrived. As a solo traveler, I booked a single room. It was perfectly adequate to my needs - a twin bed, large window, desk and end table, and large bathroom. The room was clean and came with plenty of towels. The wifi signal was strong throughout the hotel. Excellent location, within easy walking distance of many must-see tourist sights and perfectly safe after dark. Also convenient to the metro. Staff at the front desk (which is staffed 24-hours) were very helpful. A wide variety of sweet and savory food offered for breakfast, plus fresh coffee, with the option to eat outside on the terrace. The hotel is on the fourth floor but the elevator works great. Overall, it exceeded my expectations and I would definitely stay here again.

Very well located in Catania, close to the main attractions of the city - very convenient. Nice terrace for breakfast, very good breakfast. Wonderful ceiling in the room. The staff was helpful. Easy access to the airport even by bus.

However the hotel is really ‘tired’. Even with a renovated bathroom, it was not really finalized, the door from bathroom not properly closing and the bed was not as comfortable as we expected. Maybe other rooms are more advanced into the renovation process. Hopefully this hotel will be further renovated and get the proper attention, as it is an historical building and it would be a pity not to put the right value into it.

The location of the hotel as well as its atmosphere were amazing. I can say that the people from the staff - Massimo, Giuseppe, Jessica, Stefania from the breakfast area, and everyone else of these amazing people were the most helpful I saw in my trips. For example, they arrange the things when I came very early in the morning with my son, when the standard check in was at 3 PM. They managed to give us our room at 9.30 at no additional cost! Thank you very much dear team! Your attitude is more than a welcoming and all of you are such a great persons! I can write many more things that I was impressed of about this hotel, but my review became very long anyways, so: I strongly recommend this hotel for a beautiful stay in Catania! Thank you, people!

Absolutely nothing!

Location and hotel staff was excellent, helpful, caring, very kind. They prepared us gluten free breakfast as take away, because our flight was very early in the morning. Would stay again in this hotel.

Room was not as we expected, like shown on booking pictures with hand painted ceiling. We had to use 2 different lifts and stairs to reach the room, which was not very covenient with luggage. Would ask for a better room next time.

The hotel was well placed and central to attractions. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially as I was on my own. The breakfast was healthy and delicious and there was a good selection. The roof terrace was fabulous - it was a real treat to be able to see Mount Etna.

It was a little noisy - you could hear fellow travellers in the corridors and the rooms either side. It was unfortunate that there were inconsiderate travellers saying at the same time as myself, otherwise it may have been quieter.

Very old hotel but beautiful room. There was a balcony overseeing the long old street of the city.. Beds were comfortable and large. High ceilings with frescos from a long time ago. Breakfast was very good with a most hospitable greeter and coffee and breakfast served by her.

The hotel is situated in a very small street with no available access to parking. We were at the mercy of some outside parking attendants not working for the hotel. The streets as wide as the car.We would never have drove the care ti hotel but parked it outside city and ubered in. After that all was very enjoyable
