Great location. Elegant hotel. Spacious updated rooms. Modern large bathroom. Good breakfast. Lovely courtyard.

We liked everything. But-Would have liked to have known there were accessories available forguests. We are seniors and found out upon leaving that there are bathmats available as well as bath chairs-showers were slippery and we could’ve used those. Also would be helpful if there were instructions in each room on how to use the television, what channels are available and in what languages.

Clean, nicely presented hotel on a quiet but very central road. Firm mattress on a wonderfully large bed! Helpful friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Good to have a lift and to have aircon and also a safe and minibar fridge. We upgraded from Standard Double to the next level to have a slightly bigger room.

The aircon seemed stuck at 22.6 degrees, which wasn't cold enough for us. We followed the instructions to reduce the temperature without success and event though a staff member came to reset it, it never went below 21. Pillows were too soft and the toilet paper was much too hard (why?!). The water pressure in the shower wasn't adequate and one has to stand at the very end of the bath (thereby treading on the plug) to get under it. The toilet is separate and doesn't have a sink in it.

This hotel is very customer oriented and The staff were very friendly. Facilities are very clean and new. The location is perfect, only one block away is already the big square with a lot of bars and restaurants and famous attractions. Breakfasts seem to be simple but quality is good, food is fresh and it basically covers all you need for breakfast. Again the staff were very friendly and nice! This hotel is located right in the city center so it is not very easy to drive a car to reach to this hotel because of all the narrow streets. Didn’t expect we could park right in front of the hotel to take out our luggage so this is also a plus a hotel located in the city center but still is accessible with a car :).

This hotel has enhanced its services and comfort over the years. Great location, can't imagine a better one. Very good coffee machine and adequate breakfast. Great staff. No restaurant because Antwerp is full of them. Good beer choice in the mini-bar and hotel bar.

Eggs and bacon at breakfast were always cold. Bar ran out of the lovely German wine. I've heard that the owner has bought the adjacent buildings and plans to massively expand the hotel, so this means that it will probably lose its character.

The staff was very friendly and helpful - especially Thomas. The breakfast is wonderful, we could make our own little waffles and everything else you could imagine was there as well - even a honeycomb dripping honey. The room was adequate and clean and quiet and comfortable. The location is ideal.

The elevator/lift is very slow, and somewhat small. The A/C was not strong enough and the cleaners turned it off when we were out and they made up the room. But that would not prevent us from staying there again.

Fantastic location 3 minutes walking distance of the Cathedral of our Lady and the Main Square (Grote Markt). Surrounded by many beautiful buildings, the City Hall and Guild Houses, shops, cafes and multiple restaurants. About 20 minutes (flat) walk through the main, extensive shopping area to the stunningly beautiful Central Railway Station. The hotel is welcoming, nicely decorated, and well lit.. The staff were very friendly and efficient. My room, on the 2nd floor, was very spacious, stylishly decorated, and furnished with a very large bed and comfortable seating area (modern sofa that can convert to a bed) with a desk and large TV. Plenty of electrical sockets and variable lighting options. One wall comprised 3 very large windows with great views over the neighbouring buildings, of the cathedral spire with its golden clock faces. The very compact toilet was separate from the shower-room - the walk-in shower was spacious, clean, and had great water pressure. Despite outside temperatures averaging -6°, the room and entire hotel was warm and comfortable.

There is nothing to dislike about this hotel. Free water would be a welcome touch

The room was excellent: spacious and modern with a very comfortable bed. It was also well equipped; we really had everything we needed for our stay. The breakfast was exceptional in all respects: fresh, plentiful and beautifully displayed. The staff were friendly, in particular the young lady on our first day (13th) who was knowledgable, calm, efficient and very helpful indeed.

We couldn’t think of any way that this hotel disappointed us.

We love the location - close proximity to significant attractions, great hip and cool bars and restaurants in spitting distance to the hotel. The rooms were spacious, beds were cozy and comfy and we like the separate toilet and shower. Generally friendly and helpful staff. We had the breakfast buffet and we love the you can make your own waffles, nice touch. Ample spread with good selection of cheeses, breads and fresh orange juice. Wish there were more simple hot food (esp in colder months) like warm oatmeal( but otherwise it was very satisfying spread. Will highly recommend this place, and would love to stay here again when I’m back in Antwerp.

I wish there were shelf space in the shower of your toiletries and make up. Getting ready with some of things in the floor and window sill was not comfortable. Can you please have a decent full length mirror in every room?

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Rubens. The room was large, luxurious and clean. I also appreciated that the toilet was separate from the bathroom. The possibility to make your own fresh waffles at breakfast was also a nice touch. Finally, the location was perfect. Just around the corner from both the market square and the great church. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Do note that if you're coming from the station it is a 15-20 minute walk away (there are public transit options), though it is through a nice shopping street.

The only two minor things to note were: 1) there was no way to increase the amount of water flowing from the bath faucet (there were just 2 options: on or off) which meant that filling the bath took a long time, 2) the room for storing luggage before (after) check-in (-out) wasn't locked. There was someone in the reception area at all times so I wasn't worried about theft but a lock would add an extra layer of security.

Hotel Rubens-Grote Markt is situated on a lovely quiet street near the main square in the old town. It's modern, comfortable, convenient for everything in the city, and provides a delicious and ample breakfast. The room was a good size, with a fantastic shower, a comfortable bed and a pleasant temperature (I was there in April, so it was balmy). If you're spending some time in Antwerp, it makes a perfect base for exploration.

Honestly, nothing worth making a fuss over.
