The location was fabulous, a walk away from the beach and the Boat club which became our little hangout. We loved the view from our unit- the beach and watching the tide, the full moon's reflection on the water and the early morning sunrise. We also met such wonderful people including some of the residents. Everyone was so friendly. Our experience here was priceless.

We arrived on a hot day and were told to walk through the main gate and walk right around to the back of the reception,which was where our unit was located. I wish we had been told that there is another gate entrance near/next to the reception which made a much shorter and convenient walk. We took this short cut everyday during our stay.

The location was exceptional. The view from our apartment balcony would be hard to beat! Local facilities were all within easy reach, as were trips and restaurants. Kathy, the resort Receptionist, was friendly, professional and extremely helpful .

I found the unit to be clean and comfortable but slightly spartan and in need of some updating. No provision of cleaning products or coat hangers for guests was disappointing. There was also an element of luck involved in who occupied the surrounding units. Some guests were noisy and disrespectful of others .

I booked this place after looking at the views and the price. Then I read the reviews that were not at all encouraging so we arrived thinking we'd made a mistake. Not so... The staff at check in and check out were very warm and welcoming, no complaints at all. Sure, it is an older complex that could probably do with an external coat of paint, but the gardens were exceptionally neat and tidy. The access to our room was down a few stairs into a darkish stairwell and at this point I was thinking 'what have I booked us into for 3 nights'... Once opening the door to our room my concerns were quickly forgotten when I saw the beautiful outlook and nice, fairly recently renovated room. The bed was comfortable, although very squeaky when either of us turned over! Nice ensuite. Separate toilet, good sized full kitchen, comfortable sofas, nice modern lounge furniture. Perfect! The view is amazing, equally as good as any we'd had in places a lot more expensive. Please disregard the negative ratings, this place is great! Value for money, location, quietness, and those views!!

It was disappointing not to have wifi. I had plenty of data on my phone, but cell phone signal was limited also. So it was a device free 3 days! The 'corelle' crockery took me back to the 70's but in a nice way!!

The view was great looking over the bay and lap pool. Location was good. The room was good, . The spar was good and different being a round spar that viewed into the loungeroom. My daughter summed it up as a great honeymoon unit. Because half the wall was clear glass so you could watch TV while in the spar. Was very different.

A new lounge would be better and an added lounge chair would have been great as people have loved the old lounge to the end. Wasn't good for people with back problems like ourselves. But we will come back.

This property is one that we have stay at many times so we are very familiar with the location and features however this was our first time staying in one of the ground floor units and it was just as good as the third level we have stayed in previous. There are two ample sized bedrooms - one with a King and the other with two king singles and all very comfortable, lounge area, dining area and kitchen. Easy access from garage and side gate on back courtyard to main bedroom otherwise you need to go through the main door in the lounge area. The large sliding door from the dining area leads straight out to a small patio with table and chairs and overlooks the beach and ocean directly out to the top end of Fraser Island (or as it is now known K'gari) - pictures of this included. Note: you need to request beach side as not all of the property looks in this direction. There is a couple of restaurants nearby (a short walking distance) and near the marina if you wan to organise trips to the island or whale watching at the right time. The boat club down the road (3 minutes in car) has two small cinemas so if you want to see a movie you don't have to go into the main part of town for that.

Garage is small for a larger vehicle (we have a Pathfinder) and we ended up mostly parking in the other spaces throughout the property. The kitchen in this size room was weirdly set out and for a larger person the sink was difficult to use. For the first time the cleanliness of the room was not up to the usual standard we had experienced previously - they need to vacuum behind the TV unit for dead bugs - found them when looking for a power point to plug in a charger. Feedback for the managers - attention to proper cleaning between guest would have up the rating to a 9.

Returning holiday location for family with great access to everything nearby.

Minor issue - no plug for laundry sink. Tried the other plugs from bathroom without success. Reception provided a replacement plug, however it was too small. Minor issue - no instructions to use the oven. Due to age and usage, the markings/guide on oven dial have faded. Oven door would not seal fully - perhaps a service check may be helpful.

Location was amazing! Although the facility is a bit dated was a great place to stay

Originally we were on the ground floor with limited views. On booking.com it is listed as balcony views. Mid stay we changed rooms which was outstanding! Definitely a difference in room facilities ie the couch comfort. Ability to connect tv to streaming services. A bit of a luck if the draw.

The unit was a great layout. It was spacious, clean, & the cooking facilities were good. The location is really beautiful, right next to the marina, but with a fantastic view of the Bay & Fraser Island. We loved watching all the boats going in & out, & walking on the beach. It's close to markets & the jetty & some lovely cafes & restaurants. The staff were lovely, & always happy to help. A lovely place to spend our 40th wedding anniversary.

I can't really think of any real negatives, accept maybe the spa bath. Not for us, but for anyone who may struggle to get into a big bath it could be a little difficult, since the shower is over the bath. maybe not all rooms have this situation though.

Stayed in an apartment 2 doors along a couple of weeks ago. Couldn’t fault it.

The carpet had lots of stains and the sofa should be put out for hard rubbish collection. Quite honestly I don’t know how the owner could leave that sofa in the apartment. It doesn’t belong in the Breakfree. Overall cleanliness was good but the carpet and sofa would Definately put people off from booking again.

It is a stressful time for us. But this place was so nice. An excellent kitchen for preparing food. A lovely view of the marina and all the way out to Fraser Island. Beautiful sunrise and sunsets. And when I was stressed out i just went out on the balcony and sat down with a drink of water and a cup of coffee and stared out at the horizon - we were on the 2nd floor. It was amazing - really put my problems in perspective. It was also interesting watching the activity down below with prawn trawlers and fishing boats unloading in the wee hours of the morning, pleasure boats and reef viewing boats heading out in the morning. I grew to love that balcony, the fresh air and the view.

No wifi here. Sounds of cutlery and plates clattering is pretty loud due to the lack of curtains and enough soft furnishings to quieten the sounds. Our no. 5 person had to sleep on an airbed next to the double bed - a bit of a tight fit. But the positives far outweighed any negatives. I would definitely come back here to stay again.
