Wow, this place is a must if you want to escape from busy city and have some calm relaxing time in just a beautiful place located in Troodos surrounded by the peaceful forest! super clean, incredible view from the room, super tasty food(both dinner and breakfast), very helpful staff, super silent around of the hotel, and it has some charm:) definitely will be back soon!

it was very cold in the room.. didn't manage ac to work properly(

Location, vintage elegance of facilities, tasty rich breakfast, extremely comfortable beds and floor carpet, spacious room, air condition doing good, room was warm in December, incredible view on forest and all the way to the southern Cyprian shore from the 7th floor.

Bathroom is old, shower handle was broken, water pressure in shower was way too low. Also, receptionists gave me bad information on buses schedule to Limassol which really complicated my plans. It's primarily my fault, but in my opinion, hotel staff should be better informed on such things.

Very beautiful quiet place. The hotel is big and it's as if you've stepped back in time. It exudes old traditions. Rooms very nice and clean! I really appreciate the kind and helpful staff, they always helped with everything and went out of their way to accommodate. The room is cleaned every day and tea is replenished. Shampoos, always clean towels, bath towels available. Nice relaxation on the balcony with a view of the forest, beautiful cool weather. Available sauna, children's corner. Breakfast in the morning, always complete and very nice staff serving breakfast. All child friendly. I recommend having your own means of transport if you want to travel around the area like we did. Free parking at the hotel.

Exceptional. Stayed for christmas holidays 3 days/2 nights. not the first time, therefore well-known services, facilities. Staff always willing to help. Great buffet and a-la-cart menu. Old building though but it carries out a long history and tradition. It will be going under restoration - hopefully it will keep its character and tradition as well as its warm and always professional way in hotel accomodation. It carries a lot of history that should be nothing else but respected. Thank you for the short but loving and warm-hearted accomodation. We will be back soon.

Old buildng that needs restoration.

Forest Park is situated high in mountains, therefore there's plenty of fresh air and pine forests around to walk and breathe freely. The hotel has its own swimming pool with middle-height diving tower and sunbeds around. It provides breakfasts, but further through the day it is possible to eat in the restaraunt whenever you like. Live music by Vasileos Viktoros in the evenings was an additional pleasure

The restaurant menu has a rather poor choice of meals appropriate for children. No special kids' menu is provided, which is rather strange, assuming that the hotel is suitable for children (it has kids' room, baby chairs in all food courts and an outer playing ground). Another point to improve - nevertheless the swimming pool, the suits have no means to dry swimming garments and towels, except centralized heating (which was turned off due to warm weather). A drying stand or rack on the balcony would be great idea

Lobed the big widows with towering green trees from my bed and the little balcony. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for me. The food in the restaurant was great and very good value for money. The room we had on the 6th floor was spacious, clean, comfortable, and very warm in spite of a snowstorm. It was lovely and cosy. The bathrooms were spacious and clean but a bit dated. I loved the shower gel provided but struggled with the squeeze bottle. Thete were also little bottles of toiletries provided. Some other rooms I saw need an update, but I was very happy with my room on the 6th floor. Did I mention the very comfortable beds, clean linen, and fluffy pillows? All in all, it is a great hotel for families specifically. The breakfast is ample, and even though I stayed here in peak season, there was enough of everything. I'd have preferred real coffee or tea instead of from a vending machine, but I'm a bit of a coffee snob. That would have elevated the breakfast experience. I also wish more of the curtains on the beautiful big windows were totally drawn back to let in the light and the forset view. The trees are lovely. The Christmas vibe was great! We loved the fairy lights, the Christmas trees, the pool tables, the arcade with classic games, and the crepes with Nutella while we played Rummy. There is even a children's room and a small gym for those of us too frozen to venture out. The hotel is super warm and cosy, but please, do venture out. The best aspect of this hotel is the family vibe, great food, friendly service, and excellent location. A short drive to the deep snow, to various waterfalls, or to the pretty little villages just there.

I saw a dated room that needs an upgrade, but other than the fact that this lovely hotel needs refurbishment in some areas, it has a lovely old-school vibe and is popular with families. I'd definitely return with my family.

Fabulous historic hotel in a beautiful location! I had seen reviews suggesting it needs updating but I feel like that would take something away from this Troodos Icon - one of its great attributes is its long history. Forest Park has a nostalgic vibe that obviously keeps generations of families coming back together every year. The staff was amazing! My adult son is special needs and the entire Forest Park team was unfailingly kind and helpful - The restaurant staff was incredibly friendly and the outdoor dining area was a wonderful way to end our days. We look forward to coming back soon!

The feeling of staying in the iconic hotel that still stands strong even after almost a century. The "old," retro, and well-warmed feeling that the hotel offers is one of the greatest experiences that anyone can get, especially nowadays when all hotels are modern, new-aged, "cold", and overpriced! Dear Forest Park owners, please keep the legacy exactly as is!

Absolutely nothing! I will be disappointed, though, if one year from now, the new management wishes to transform this amazing hotel into something else that will come in contrast with its current heritage! (exactly what happened to Petit Palais which after the "renovation", is overpriced, inaccessible, and no longer addressed to the Cypriot residents)

The hotel is a magical glimpse into life 50-80 years ago. There are lots of charming references to previous illustrious guests. It now has a rather neglected air and was very quiet when we arrived, which gave it the feel of the hotel in the film 'The Shining'. But a couple of days later, on the bank holiday week-end, it was full of families who presumably had driven up from the coast for the week-end. The staff coped incredibly well with this sudden influx. Our executive room was much like an old-fashioned 3-4 star hotel room in the UK. The bed was very comfortable. Our balcony had a lovely view over the valley. It was a fascinating place to stay for 3 days and the location was great for visiting the Troodos mountains. It is a 10-15 minute walk into the village, where there are lots of cafe's and restaurants if you don't fancy eating in the hotel restaurant.

It's sad that the outdoor swimming pool doesn't appear to be used anymore, although there is an indoor pool. The fried breakfast was a little bit greasy, but there are plenty of other options to choose from.

Arriving into Pano Platres on a late November afternoon, we booked the cheapest available option that included breakfast. Little did we know that we had booked the hotel where The Shining was filmed - a place once prestigious, host to the King of Egypt and Roy Jenkins, now rusting, empty in the pine trees. Arrive by foot, after dark, and you will find yourself walking up a long path to the hotel's ornate rotting hull. The bushes flutter and hum with a hundred stray cats. You check in, assisted by one of the two staff on duty in this titanically-sized hotel; nod at the one aged man sitting in the bar. How long has he been here? Is *he* the King of Egypt who, as numerous decades-old posters tell you, once had a cocktail invented for him at this very bar? Perhaps he has sat there, peeling with the walls, since the revolutionary bandwagon arrived in Cairo. The unlit corridors above, where you will sleep, are long. Shadows flash along them, and the sound of children echoes from the vents and the doors. Enjoy the sauna and the large, unpopulated indoor swimming pool with menacing, unlit side-wings. Avail yourself of the games room with the flickering light and the humming machines, unused since the glory days. Breakfast good. Nice staff. Very comfortable and clean. Altogether very atmospheric.

It could have done with a couple of child actors to play the twins, and an old woman in a bath.
