The breakfast was fantastic, a ton of great options. The room was decently sized and both very comfy and very clean. The location was perfect, right off the side of the road, yet far enough up the hill to be peaceful and quiet. It also had a nice view down the valley. The decor is quite old school, but in a charming way. The staff were exceptionally nice.

The charging options by the bed for the phone were rather limited, and a bit more light in the room would have been appreciated.

I stayed for a week, as I had to write a book chapter and wanted to ride the local mountain bike trails. Most guests seemed to just stay one night, so I think people are mainly using this as a stopover to Oslo or Bergen. I really loved Nesbyen and would recommend it as a place to visit for a few hours or a day. For mountain bikers there are some great trails here. The hotel is not set up specifically to cater for mountain bikers, but there was plenty of space to leave it and I found the hotel a great base to explore the valley from.

The property was a like a look back in time. Very interesting decor and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. Our room was a a bit dated but impeccably clean. The shower was amazing. In our travels, we have never experienced such great pressure. Although due to the layout of the bathroom, it got the floor quite drippy. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Both were delicious. The variety of choices for breakfast were unbelievable! Highly recommend. Our room was quiet. The hotel is easy to find off the highway.

Liked everything

We loved the nostalgic feel and friendly atmosphere of the place. The apartment was extremely good value for the price, and it was great to have a kitchen to cook. The bathroom had brilliant underfloor heating so was nice and toasty, and we loved the generous Norwegian breakfast. The location is absolutely beautiful.

If you want a very modern or pristine hotel, this probably isn’t the place for you. Some of the furniture was a bit tired or worn, although the beds were comfortable.

Beautiful location in Hallingdal, the hotel is a convenient place for an overnight stop. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Although it is old and rather worn down, the hotel has charm and a nice atmosphere.

The bathroom needed maintenance and the bed linen was synthetic and a bit uncomfortable.

Good value for money. silent rooms and comfortable beds. spacious room. Amazing guest that even prepared our breakfast before the official time.

The interior and the building have furniture from the previous century. I think the last update has been done around the 90s.

The breakfast was excellent because of the fine, nutritious foods I usually eat including fine coffee but also the warm, inviting and very cozy dining room. I could have taken 2 hours to eat breakfast.

The only thing that could have gone better was to not have to wait as long to meet the manager so that we could drop off our luggage. It meant that we could have arrived earlier at the local park which we were visiting.

It was really clean. The furniture and decorations where old, yes but that was charming! There was a lot of selection for breakfast. Our car didn’t start the next morning due to the effect of the cold that night and our host was very helpful and called a friend for help.

Out of the way location set back from main road. Set course evening meal was plentiful, breakfast with sufficient choice. Pleasant check in/out.

Beds not great.

This is a great hotel halfway to Oslo. 24-hour reception desk. Luggage was conveniently unloaded. The best breakfast I've ever had in Norway. Price-quality ratio!

The weather did not allow getting to know the surroundings.
