Outstanding service, facilities, decor and ambience, coupled with the fact that it feels like guests' experience is valued above making money for the business, make Talbooth House a rare treat in this era of commercialism. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely stay, and the fact that entry to the spa is included in the room price make this one of the best value getaways around. Spa facilities were also excellent, with a large swimming pool and perfectly heated hot-tub.

There was nothing not to like about our experience!

Everything was absolutely perfect. Originally booked for 1 night but booked another, location is lovely had a beautiful walk on the foot path up the road seeing the sun go down and saw some deers and ducks. Also a 15 minute walk to Dedham town what we did also and was worth it as we went for a walk by the river and was greeted by some cows. The spa is my favourite was so relaxing lovely heated pool to the right temperature just get straight in and go for a nice swim, the jacuzzi is great too, I nearly fell asleep. Now the hotel and room itself is beautiful as we walked in was greeted and shown to our room, we stayed in Tennyson and it was breathtaking, very big space, big shower room which I loved and to top it off we had our own terrance balcony which was very spacious. The staff was lovely, made us feel comfortable and welcome and was there if anything was needed. I’d definitely be back. If you’re looking for a quiet relaxing break then I’d definitely consider the Toolbooth spa and hotel. They have restaurants that can do room service or they will take you down to the restaurant. We got breakfast to the room, tasty I’d recommend the yoghurt and blackberry pancakes.

Everything was perfect nothing to complain about

Beautiful location, helpful staff and lovely spa and swimming pool. Rare to find a heated swimming pool open in November so we were delighted. Restaurant was also great, and very relaxed atmosphere was much appreciated. We did some lovely walks along the river and through Dedham, which is a lovely little village with nice pubs and shops.

The room we stayed in next to reception was a tiny bit noisy in the morning, and felt a bit exposed as looked out to the front.

Fabulous hotel, rooms and spa. All members of staff were excellent, friendly and welcoming and nothing seemed too much trouble. A super relaxing spa with lovely joint treatments for my wife and I. The restaurant, a short drive down the road (by their excellent staff in a courtesy car, both ways), was amazing too. We had a really yummy 5 course tasting menu with wine flight. Superb! A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay. I can't recommend highly enough!

Excellent staff very friendly and service excellent. Room comfortable with very nice bathroom. Option of using Spa very good. Had breakfast at Milsons which was average. Had dinner in Le Talbooth which was excellent if a bit overpriced. I love scallops and was shocked I only got one.

Rooms are a little tired and could do with an upgrade although comfortable. Breakfast at Milsons was fine but not worth 27.50! We were very pleased it was included in our package.A

Wonderful rural location just off the A12 and a 10 minute walk into Dedham village, plenty of free parking, friendly staff, beautifully decorated and furnished buildings, facilities set over three sites within two or three minutes drive of each other but staff will ferry you backwards and forwards, room and breakfast excellent value and high-end restaurant serves delicious food.

Breakfast was a buffet, we felt that it should have been a l carte for the standard of the hotel The room needed an area for hair styling there wasn’t a dressing table with a mirror & a plug for the hairdryer

We had a wonderful stay at the Talbooth hotel Staff were professional ,attentive and nothing was too much trouble A complimentary taxi service to the nearby village was much appreciated The turndown service was amazing I loved coming back to the room, beautifully lit The location is stunning

We loved everything at the hotel Breakfast at Milsoms was good, but not great.

Total luxury. Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. Lots of extras such as arrival drink, robes, slippers, drinks in the fridge in room (that actually keeps things cold), very comfy bed, beautiful decor that’s quite quirky.

We stayed two nights and it would have been nice to of had the bubble bath replaced that was used on night one.

Located a short drive away from the Tolbooth restaurant and Milsoms restaurant and transport is provided in both directions. Unless you want continental breakfast, you will need to get the car….Large bedrooms with glorious views, but at a price! Very friendly staff….

Very expensive compared to Milsoms, 400m down the road and part of the same hotel group.
