Being long-term users of this hotel we knew exactly what the facilities were - stone's throw from autovia, easy parking, excellent room, check-in and check-out easy; excellent value for money. Staff were polite, helpful and cannot be faulted (except the chef - see below)

The refurbishment has been done well but the water pressure for the shower (at least in our room) was poor; it needed a boost pump. Worse was the restaurant. The menu was restricted in the meat (carnes) area and two more local items were not available. The steaks seemed to be a reasonable alternative but both of ours arrived extremely rare (and I like a bleu steak). Returning one to the barbecue made no difference and the quality of the meat, with lots of sinew, fat and other inedible parts, compounded by knives that were blunt, made the main course a real let-down. Our lack of Spanish made discussion impossible unfortunately but we have never had this issue before. We'll use La Colina again but exercise better selection from the menu!

Easy to find and great for a stopover en route to the ferry in Bilbao. Room was spacious enough and well equipped. Facilities a little dated but clean. Breakfast is good and available early

It is right next to the motorway and leaving the window open at night which is unavoidable in the summer means that it is noisy

Parking can be a problem if large parties are booked in for food,also stretches staff on duty.

You can at times find yourself in the middle of large local parties and get together staff can be really stretched.

I was on a very long road trip from Portugal to Ireland and the Hotel is located conveniently next to a motorway, a short meters away. The room was of a great size and clean, the beds wore very confortable. The bathroom was good and spacious. The hotel staff was very nice. The restaurant on the groundfloor served good value for money food. The parking is monitored and safe.

There was no hairdryer available which can be a little inconvenient. The restaurant staff in the evening was a little rude, but the morning staff was great and helpful. There was noise early in the morning, from some construction work.

Comfy bed, and surprisingly quiet even though immediately next to the motorway. There is also a nice walk along the River Duoro.

There was a dreadful smell from the drains in the bathroom. Also we thought that the restaurant was part of the hotel. On Booking.com it was stated that Dinner was 12.50 Euros, but in the restaurant the cheapest Menu was 29.50 Euros. I guess we should have eaten in the bar area. It is our fault as we don't speak Spanish, only Portuguese. Staff were friendly enough

Location. A very good stopover on my journey to Portugal. The main restaurant does not open until 8PM, but the food and service were excellent. Most people used the cheaper option of bar food, as that was available much earlier.

It was simple but perfect. It has very comfortable beds. There is a great restaurant in the hotel which was open until 10.30pm. Great food, nice staff, nice beds.

It’s location just off the main road made it an excellent stopover en route to Santander but it wasn’t noisy as there were two lots of double glazing on the windows.

Although our bathroom had a large walk-shower, there was no hand held attachment so difficult to have a shower without getting your hair wet. A man must have designed it :)

The hotel was very clean, had a lovely restaurant and was worth the money spent

Only issue we had was a leaking air con but considering everything else and how temperamental air con units can be I didn't have a problem with it 😊
