I really loved my stay at the Palazzo della Fontana, wish I would have booked more than one night. The location is perfect, you are right in the city center, everything important is within 5 minutes walking distance. The room was very spacious with a very tasteful Interior and high quality toiletries. The receptionist were super helpful with tipps regarding restaurants and parking. You cannot park in front of the hotel, there is only a space for 30 Minutes, but you can at least drop off the luggage at the Hotel. The parking garage is 2 minutes away and it costs 20€ per day. The breakfast was delicious and the Cappuccino marvelous. I would definitely come back and will recommend the place to friends.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Palazzo della Fontana, and it was an exceptional experience.The location is excellent, offering easy access to the city's main attractions. The hotel itself is impeccably clean, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights of our stay was the beautiful terrace restaurant. We enjoyed a delightful glass of Franciacorta in a wonderfully pleasant atmosphere. The breakfast was also fantastic, with a variety of delicious options and very attentive staff. Although the price is on the higher side, the overall experience at Palazzo della Fontana is worth every penny.

Brand new boutique hotel, with beautiful rooms (mid size). Excellent position, right in the city center before the Sassi area. It is a perfect solution for people with limited mobility.

Everything was excellent, there are cheaper options in town, but definitely worth the premium.

We liked everything about this property. From the warm, helpful, friendly staff to the lovely, comfortable room, to the excellent location, we could not have been happier.

The location was perfect, as were the staff. The property is virtually brand new, being completed in 2022. The rooftop bar also is new and a special treat. Nothing was too much trouble for the attentive staff.. The breakfast was typical modern Italian. There are many excellent restaurants, trattorias etc within walking distance. Three nights is perfect to absorb the beauty of Matera. The nearby car park was ideal. Wifi coverage excellent.

Too far from home….

The service at this hotel is excellent. We loved everyone from the front desk, to breakfast and the rooftop bar. The property is beautiful, well maintained and central to matera. We will definitely come back and maybe next time, they will have a fitness center (which was the only thing missing). A Last thing: the property is extremely dog friendly! We could not be more grateful.

Everyone was super friendly! The rooms are very nice and new, cool design. Rooftop terrace has marvelous views. We booked a parking garage closeby and it was very easy to walk to the hotel. Great location, close to the Sassi!

Drinks on the rooftop were pricey.

Wifi was a bit slow and there seemed to be some restrictions when uploading photos to the cloud, no where to put soap bar in the bathroom, there was only handsoap in theshower - it would have been nice with shower gel and shampoo

Location was great. Rooms are clean, spacious and nicely furnished. The rooftop terrace has a great view of Matera. Breakfast was plentiful with quality products. Multi-storey parking is within walking distance. Staff are attentive and helpful.

The AC is a bit slow and only works when the room card is inserted so you come back at night to a very warm room.

The location is tops near the main piazza and hub of Matera. The arrangement the hotel has with a nearby garage for parking. And the receptionist was so helpful in setting you up for the visit

The breakfast can be a bit more elaborate. In Italy it never wins. England is more exciting and Norway is better. Ah, those smoked herrings!
