The location at the end of the beach provides for a beautiful and quiet spot. We had the beach front king room and it was amazing...ocean view, steps to the water and the restaurant. The food was simply outstanding, the servings large and the choices of meals, wide. The staff was attentive and polite. I'll definitely return. If you're looking for a beautiful beachfront location with the option to swim and suntan nude, this is a great option.

No complaints whatsoever.

This seems to be the nicest hotel in Zipolite. The design, location, privacy, amenities and staff were all fantastic. The beach is near-private but you can walk around a large rock to get to the rest of the beach. The food was great.

At certain times, there are mosquitos in certain spots on the beach and also unavoidable if you're staying in one of the ground floor rooms/suites. The hotel provides natural repellant lotion, mosquito nets over the beds, and plug-in repeller devices, but you will still probably get bitten. Also the rooms near the restaurant will hear the music they play until late at night.

The ocean view was incredible, the cleanliness, the quietness. Loved the yoga classes but they are not included in the price of your booking but totally worth it. The place was magical!

The location is hard to find. We took a bus and the roads were flooded at the time. We had to walk to try to find the hotel with no internet and it was pitch black at night. Definitely take a taxi that knows exactly where to take you and also during raining season it floods and the taxis can get stuck in the mud. Just be mindful of that.

I liked how the property has lots of trees plants and greenery. A very quiet location at end of the zipolite beach. Resort right on ocean and my cabana was 50 feet from the sand of the beach. A two minute beach walk to the main avenue in town. A very private feel to this location and very peaceful

The wifi at times cut out but that truly was not a big concern as in Mexico sometimes that happens. My only other wish was that it allowed clothing optional up at the only pool as it adults only. The beach is legally nude. I came to zipolite to be nude on the beach, like many many others

This is my first time writing a hotel review, but I felt compelled to share just how incredible this place is. As an experienced traveler who has stayed in many luxurious and unique hotels, this one truly stands out. The staff is exceptionally welcoming and genuinely cares about their guests, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. While the rooms aren't the most luxurious due to their age and could use a refresh, what really impressed me was the glowing feedback from previous guests, which convinced me to give it a try. I'm so glad I did because my expectations were far exceeded. The hotel's relaxed vibe, private beach, and the freedom to fully embrace a naturist lifestyle without feeling out of place all contributed to a truly unique experience. Combined with the thoughtful and friendly service, it made my stay unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel and would love to return.

The hotel it’s beautiful it self , I loved the concept is perfect for solo travelers or couples as well, the food and drinks at the restaurant are really good I loved the alquimista cocktail and the catch of the day carpaccio. I new in general Zipolite beach has strong waves but at least on my stay I could swim and bath on the beach every day with no problem at all, the staff just recommended to stay on certain zones, I couldn’t take a massage here but yoga classes are great!

Even though everything was great I think the service at the restaurant can improve more, sometimes it could be a bit slow to the point that you can get to feel forgotten for a while by the waiters especially on the afternoons and evenings.

Everything. Beautiful location, at the end of the beach. Great views. Restful decor and large balcony, especially as we were upgraded from a QS room to a massive space with KS bed (thank you). Really clean. Friendly staff ( hi Angel). Quiet pool with lots of shaded sun beds, never crowded. Reasonably good spa with massages and facials. Good restaurant on the beach with lots of choices and cocktails. Hotel has negotiated a discount rate for taxis from Huetalco Airport of $800 pesos- no need to pre-book, just go to the taxi desk outside the airport exit.

A couple of minor things - responses to pre-arrival emails were slow and often required chasing. Light in the room was a bit of issue - no curtains meant the room was too bright in the early morning, but the artificial lights were too dull to read by at night.

My boyfriend and I had the best time at El Aquimusta! The view from our room of the beach and ocean was sublime. We loved opening up all our windows and doors and feeling the sea breeze. The hotel grounds were lush and beautiful, the staff was attentive and kind, check in/out was a breeze. The location at the end of Zipolite beach was semiprivate and was very serene. The massages at the spa were amazing. I had a two hour massage with Olivia and it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had! We will definitely be back!

The management and staff are amazing, and the property is beautiful and peaceful. This was my third stay in Zipolite, and I always return to El Alquimista. I have a very demanding, stressful life, so this trip was for my birthday. There are many reasons I returned. First off, when I booked, I called to request the same room I was in during my first visit, and the staff accommodated me without any problems, concerns, and issues - It's stunning. Secondly, I ran into some problems with my bank, so I was not able to pay in full at check-in. The staff understood, invited me to relax, and told me we would resolve it. I was able to pay in full using an alternative processor three days in. Never was I questioned, hounded for payment, or bothered about settling my balance during my stay. On the contrary, I was always greeted with a smile, immense courtesy, and an attitude of "you are here to relax and enjoy yourself - all will be well." And it was. I even wrote a letter to the manager to let the entire staff know that I appreciated each and every one of them--they put my value as a person and my need to relax above the business matter. I doubt I would have received that kind of care and support at most hotel properties. They are amazing, and it's a wonderful place to get away. I couldn't give a higher recommendation. If you're looking for peace and quiet, outstanding service and care, beautiful surroundings, and amazing food - look no further. Book today!

There was really nothing at all I did not like about El Alquimista. I felt completely taken care of, the staff was informative, kind, helpful, and non-intrusive. In some ways, it was like staying with family. I made many friends both at the property and from Zipolite and in the nearby towns. I love this part of Mexico for a getaway. If you're looking for a rowdy, loud, "party" atmosphere, book one of the other properties close by. If you are like me, and prefer a calm, quiet, zen-like experience, El Alquimista is where you should stay. You can always take a short walk over to one of the other properties to join the revelry and party atmosphere. For me, it was perfect. I always knew when I was done with that kind of experience, I could return to El Alquimista and decompress from it all.
