What a truly exceptional experience for our multi-generational family of 6. From check in to check out our 4 night stay was wonderful. The staff was amazing, friendly and helpful, with extra special care taken to make sure our kids had a great time. The rooms were large, modern, clean and beautifully appointed. Literally steps from the beautiful beach with perfect sand, crystal clear waters and great waves for surfing! The AC was as cold as the delicious drinks at the on-site bar. Restaurante Perla Negra was a total bonus, great food all day long makes there no reason to leave! San Augustinillo and neighboring Mazaunte were great little towns with tons of restaurants, bars and shopping along with fantastically friendly people and laid back vibe. Thank you Casa Bagus for an unforgettable time, we will be back!

Beautiful room, super comfy bed and perfect location in front of the safe swimming beach. Staff was very nice. Onsite restaurant was good, convenient and not particularly expensive compared to other restaurants in the area. Food always prepared fresh, served piping hot.

It would be nice if there was the option for a mattress so that families who stay in the king suite have more sleeping options, especially when travelling with older kids who might not sleep well together. The price is also very high for Casa Bagus. But I knew this when I booked it and it was my choice so I can hardly complain, but this was a first for us to spend so much per night on a room. It did not disappoint, but I would also say it is not the best value. A mini fridge and complimentary tea and coffee should be included.

Beautiful property; right on the beach; swimmable beach relative to rest of the area (our 8 year old loved it but you cannot have them swim alone - water is rough relative to our regular New Jersey and Virginia Beaches. Too rough for our 5 year old but she loved playing in the sand and exploring the boulders around the beach). The restaurant is lovely (8am-6pm and cash only). The staff are amazing - super friendly and help you with anything you need. They provide beach towels and bag for you and had communal sunscreen and filtered water out all day. Restaurants, market, and wine shop in 5 minute walking distance.

Most rooms don’t have a refrigerator and since the restaurant on site closes at 6pm it would be helpful to be able to get access to a refrigerator and ice in the evening. The rooms do not have TVs which is not a problem for us but just a flag. No comforters on the bed. A top sheet and thin blanket. We had the A/C on and could have used an extra blanket for the kids. Casa Bagus sends all guests a warning about this and this is not their fault at all, but just a flag that it is true that none of the local ATMs work right now (July 2024). Bring cash. It was a constant topic amongst guests - what restaurants or stores take cards because people were running out of cash.

Staff very attentive and gracious. Location is prime spot on the beach and perfect for walking to both San Agus and Mazunte. Mattress and pillows very comfortable. Housekeeping kept room very clean. Minimal sound transfer between rooms.

Mini-split condensation leaked all over room floor on first night (but was fixed the following day with no additional problems during our stay). Sheets felt rough and noisy (maybe a personal preference thing). On-site restaurant (separate business) had good food and service, but seemed significantly overpriced compared to everything else we tried during our stay.

This is a little bit of paradise. Perfectly situated on the beach almost everything about this place is perfection. From the sun loungers allocated to each room, almost always in the shade, to the small touches like water coolers, coffee machine and even a toaster! The manager Paco is a gem - whatever they’re paying him they should double it. The little restaurant, El Perla Negra, which is operated independently is fantastic. Great breakfasts and snacks through the day. It’s so good we wanted to extend our trip and come back at the end - sadly it was booked.

Nothing! Maybe the sun loungers could have slightly more comfortable cushions and be able to sit more upright - but then we did spend a lot of time sitting on them!

Literally loved everything about this place. The host was incredibly sweet and very thorough in showing us around the property. The restaurant on site is a gem. The chef is amazing and so accommodating. The room was well equipped and very comfortable. And, then there's the beach - the hotel is steps from it and they have a spot with chairs and an umbrella reserved just for you. Cannot say enough good things.

I guess the internet occasionally goes out, but that's not really a complaint. Truly the only experience we didn't like was when we tried to explore Mazunte and had a guy try to scam us on some chairs. We decided our beach was better and there were free chairs, so we just went back to Casa Bagus.

We absolutely loved our peaceful stay at Casa Bagus on the ocean. Manon, Gabriela and their team make you feel like family the moment you book. They email you tips about the area and your stay to help you pack and prepare. Once there, you are blown away by the beauty of the place. Right on the ocean, waves crashing, your own chairs and umbrella to relax in daily. The Perla Negra restaurant within the hotel lobby is simple and SO GOOD too. We went out for dinner and lunch in San Aug., Zipolite, and Mazunte…. But this place (Oscar, Mina, and Flor) put together healthy, fresh, delicious food. The shrimp are huge and so delicious. We ate tacos, burgers, ceviche, tostadas and shrimp pastas. Delicious every time we should have just eaten there every day! The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. A/c is helpful when not use to the heat. Having our own recliner and umbrella each day on the beach to turn too was super nice too! Manon was our vacation guide and helped with connections, ideas, scooter rentals and even connected us to a local tattoo artist (and drove us there). We can’t say enough good things. We will be back in 2024. We wish we never left :) -Honeymooners Lisa and Nathan

really nothing. Nathan and I love visiting Mexico. I would say if you’ve never been to Mexico or this area…. it’s helpful to know that this is a quiet, sleepier part of the beach. walkable to other spots or Mazunte too. Come here to relax.

This was heaven on earth. There is no way you can be more on the beach than here. We had the apartment with kitchen on the ground floor. There was a big terrace with chairs. We had our own loungers. The apartment was beautifully decorated and well appointed. People were super friendly. The restaurant was really nice. The beach itself is stunning. It’s so beautiful and clean. I’m so glad we stayed three nights.

Great location and the most wonderful staff. Delicious food! Whale watching was amazing.

Totally out of control of Casa Bagus but someone in the local government thought it would be a good idea to install very bright LED lights on poles on the beach. These lights shine into some of the rooms and are most irritating. Pretty sure the turtles aren’t very happy either.

Perfectly located hotel right at the beach away from any noise (you only hear the waves at night). Rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. On-site restaurant is great and the owner and all the staff are very friendly and always willing to help with anything. Overall a perfect place to stay to relax and enjoy the beautiful beach of San Augustinillo.

We knew about it beforehand, but still it would be great to make card payment possible without a 5% surcharge, as getting cash in the area is challenging.
