The manor situated in a lovely area with beautiful sea views. We stayed in a room, that had a private entrance with a private terrace and a jacuzzi hot tub. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a large bathroom. I loved the bed. The food we had in the restaurant was excellent and worth every penny. Staff were great most of the time.

Only few things I would like to mention here. The pillows were bad quality not up to standard, uncomfortable to sleep on and that is quite important when staying at the place like this. I think the decoration could have been a bit more stylish and also the bathroom was very modern, but didn’t really match the room. Some staff were polite but not very friendly to start with. Over time that changed a bit.

Check in was smooth and our room was beautiful. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. I love the older listed type buildings and this did not disappoint. Beautiful sea view from the terrace and I was in owe at the decor & furniture! Breakfast set up was plentiful. Choice of Cooked or continental. Everything you could want. Our bed was so comfortable and there was no noise at all, we even had the windows open!

The only issue I had was the wifi in our room, which was right at the top of the manor house, room 12, was very weak. Not strong enough to watch a film in bed when we retired to the room.

Beautiful secluded spot in this country house hotel, with lovely gardens and very good food for both dinner and breakfast. Clean and comfortable, though not exceptional, still a very good hotel.

We felt that more could be done to encourage restaurant staff towards more engagement with residents. We sometimes felt our existence was ignored. A little more acknowledgement with some smiling eye contact would have assured us that despite being busy, we were not forgotten!

Fine location. Outside of Torquai. So you need a car. Very quite. And a very nice view on the sea. Nice garden..Good breakfast an a choice for europran people not to have all the sausages and eggs. The is continental. Nice people to help you and to give you good information. Very nice diners we had. A wide choice of food and wines. Would return again.

Difficult to get there as the directions you get from tomtom or other systems is bringing over very small roads. They should give some additionele info on the website. The first night our room was not oke as we had 2 separate wobbely beds. Lucky they changed us. Difficultvto get upstairs to your room for elderly peopke.

The room and view were very nice. The breakfast was exceptional and value for money with very friendly waitresses. Lovely quiet and scenic location.

There was a car charging socket in the car park but the charge was outrageous to charge a hybrid car. Staff/manager didn’t seem bothered to consider £3 cost to charge a hybrid car and only offered a standard £25 charge. Indifferent receptionist upon departure didn’t ask if we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is impeccable, beautifully furnished. We originally booked a standard double, but due to the amount of stairs we decided to upgrade to a deluxe double room. It was very larg, themed decor, very tasteful. Bed was of high quality, large working TV. Bathroom was exceptional, large shower, and separate bath. Breakfast was £10 extra each ,but well worth it. Great food. We had a 3 course evening meal ,which was wonderfully cooked and presented. Good value as well. Staff at this hotel were very helpful, and willing, and knowledgeable.

Initially, I didn’t want to pay extra for a double room, but I have to say, after our experience in this family run hotel,I’d happily stay here again. (And fully intend to). Couldn’t fault anything here.

We stayed at the hotel for one night. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyabl as possible. We had dinner and breakfast which were both excellent with a good choice. The bed was very comfortable and the room large and well furnished. The bathroom was also a good size. The hotel had a large car park, beautiful gardens along with a terrace to enjoy drinks.

We needed to upgrade and the staff made an exceptional effort to accommodate our request for an upgrade. Unfortunately Booking.com didn’t handle our request properly and it was the hotel staff themselves that sorted out the mistake from Booking.com

Booking.com could have correctly carried out my request but it seems they didn’t contact the hotel despite informing that they had!

Beautiful location and rally helpful and friendly staff. The room was clean and comfortable. The ensuite seemed like it had been fairly recently refreshed and was very good.

Although tea and coffee facilities were available I didn't see any caffeine free/herbal teas available in the room. The breakfast didn't start until 8am which was a bit too late for me as I had to get away for a meeting.

Good location. Food was very good. Staff for the most part were helpful.

A lift would have been helpful. For the prices being charged coming back and finding no parking due to non resident parking, was an issue. Reserved Resident Parking would be a step in the right direction. If you’re planning is for more non residents coming to your restaurant, this problem is only going to increase.
