This is the most charming and family friendly property we have ever stayed in. Debs, the owner has created an environment where you feel like you are at home. The surroundings are immaculate and clean. It is very well decorated with lovely framed pictures. There are shelves of books and family games which we took advantage of, playing chess, dominoes and Downfall which the kids loved. The room we stayed in was really spacious and allowed us to relax and enjoy ourselves without feeling cramped. Debs serves a homemade breakfast when you go to the dining room making it all the more homely. We didn’t use public transport but everything was pretty much an 8 minute drive away so very well located. Would definitely stay here again and it felt great to support a local business. It was perfect!

We had a family room and it was beautiful: gorgeously decorated, enough space for us all to move around and relax. It was clean, comfortable and a had a wonderfully huge window with a lovely view. Breakfast was consistently delicious, and there is an outside seating area which we also enjoyed. Ample books and games are provided to entertain the children and there is a 'mini bar' in the lobby for extra treats at a reasonable price. Wonderful owners make this place the fabulous retreat that it is with their efforts to make it lovely obvious in all the details and their kindness.

Honestly it was really wonderful. If I'm being picky, a jug of drinking water at breakfast would have been good and I'm sure it would have been provided if we'd asked, and a bed guard for our toddler would have been helpful but we were given a travel cot so it really wasn't a problem. We were extremely comfortable and happy here I would definitely recommend Acorn Lodge.

Debs and Mike gave us the warmest welcome, they explained everything to us and put us at ease straight away. Lovely, friendly and humorous people who couldn’t do enough for us. The room was clean and comfortable and the balcony was perfect. Lovely touch having a snack facility and honesty box. Breakfast was pre ordered and exceptional each day! Compliments to the chef! Great location, just a short walk to the seafront. Parking was plentiful and really easy. Would not hesitate to recommend, will definitely return. Michelle and Lee xx

we stayed for 5 nights in one of debs double rooms, we couldn’t have been happier with our experience, debs made us feel so welcome and comfortable. the room was very clean and up to date with a fridge to store our food and drink. the breakfast was unreal and a ‘help yourself’ station with cereal and toast as well as the prepared breakfast requested, couldnt have been happier and weve already re-booked!!!

The hostess Debs was friendly and accommodating in requesting additional requests. Nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend the lodge to family/friends alike. We would both consider returning at some point in the future.

The location wasn't ideal - especially for anyone with mobility issues, as it required an approximate 20-minute walk to the main facilities in Torquay. Other than that, there is nothing negative to report.

The room and the property was exceptionally clean, not a spot of dust or dirt in sight! The location was great, parking was not limited. Everything was outstanding! Debs is an amazing host, beautiful breakfast! The service provided was outstanding! We have never had service like this before, we would definitely return.

The hosts were kind thoughtful inviting and went above and beyond for any needs we had. Room we're beautifully decorated , comfortable , spacious , clean and inviting . Location was perfect , phenomenal value for money and fantastic facilities. I can't believe how much they charge versus other places I have stayed that cost more and no way the high standards that the Acorn lodge offers. I am blown away by how great this was and my parents sisters and friends have already downloaded booking.com and booked rooms for next year as I am moving into my own house and need somewhere for my large family to stay . I am very grateful for all Acorn Lodge had to offer and rarely give reviews but this was just too good not to and hope others choose to stay at such an amazing place . Thanks so much Acorn Lodge!

There was nothing I didn't like I enjoyed absolutely everything. Best stay I've ever had to the point where I have already booked another stay.

I liked the size of the bedroom and where the bunk beds were situated in a recess area fitted well because it made the rest of the room bigger there were also two comfy arm chairs and a small fridge which was ideal the breakfast room was clean and presentable as well as breakfast Outdoor area was also quite smart with matching table and chairs

We spent two nights at Acorn Lodge and we really liked it! Lovely room, really nice breakfast (loved the fruit salad!) and perfect location. We also appreciated the tips about leaving the car and go by bus to Brixham and Paignton for the day. Would definitely recommend friends to stay here!

Welcoming, & friendly. Very clean room with modern facilities.comfy bed, lovely picture window. 30mins to town centre downhill. Good breakfast choices.

Steep steps to the side of property from car park, but it's hilly all round, so just had to take it steady!
