Great modern hotel. Lovely rooms. Helpful staff. Really nice onsen. Was great to have washing machines available .

Nothing. It was excellent- except maybe the parking. It was a bit confusing . There are two external parking lots they have a deal with - to limit the parking to 12000y a day. However that is only if you enter after 1500hrs. The parking lots each also operate a bit differently . We ended up paying quite a bit more because we had to take our car out once during our 3 day stay and also because we arrived and parked before 1500 hrs . Just something to factor in :)

The location is possibly the best for Nagasaki. It is located in Chinatown and next to Dejima. In addition, a major tram stop is only a few steps away, making it easy to get to Peace Park, the main station, Glover Gardens, and others. We found the room to be comfortable, with a nice daybed in place of the usual desk in hotels like this. The room bath was well-appointed, and the top-floor public indoor/outdoor bath was good. The price was quite reasonable.

About our only problem while staying there was the lack of sanitizing solution. There was none in the lobby or the room. After the pandemic, and with Japan now in the midst of a strong flu season, nearly all hotels have sanitizer everywhere.

Hospitality of a hotel is defined by the degree of how it's management provides for the guest. This includes administratively. On the train from Kagoshima, preparing for that day's check in, I look at my reservation in horror, as the checkin date was 2 days prior! Panic prevailed as this was a costly reservation and the hotel probably was full. Miraculously, CANDEO Hotel management understood the situation and generously allowed that now expired reservation to be used for two day w/o penalty. Of course some vacant rooms that day were fortunately available. In any event CANDEO Hotel saw beyond financial gain to provide genuine hospitality to us. The stay and quality of the hotel was superurb and the public and guestroom design excelled. As a retired design Architect who has worked on significant hotels internationally, I know quality and design excellence.

The staff were amazing, kind and helpful. The location was great. At the end of the street one way was an Outdoor Mall that was great, at the other end was Chinatown. Close to the Tram we took to the Ropeway and Peace Park/ Atomic Bomb site and Museum.

The Breakfast was ok, there was a limited selection of fruit, very small orange pieces, once mushy mango oand once grapes. There was bread and small croissants but one day they ran out of strawberry jam. Cereal was granola and corn flakes. They had orange, apple and tomato juice but was only partly full and when it was gone that was it… not sure what’s with the scrambled eggs but they are always runny, not just this place but other hotels as well… I like mine cooked and fluffy…

I couldn't believe the value of this property (I guess that depends on what you pay). Decent size room. A little dated but immaculately maintained and had all the modern features. Great staff. Incredible views of the city and mountains. Decent onsen (it's very nice outside with the city views). 20-30 restaurants within a 15 minute walk. 5 minute walk to airporter bus stop. The room had a great vibe and was so comfortable. I really still can't believe what I got for the price. I'd say instead of 3 stars it's almost one of those old school 4 star Japanese hotels. Loved it.

I absolutely loved this hotel. I was a beautiful place to stay and was very central. We didn't need to take any long trains only short tram rides or walking as most things were in such close proximity. The food was great, especially the little cakes. Also having the room service included was also excellent. Also the steam buns downstairs on the corner were amazing!!!!

I really wish I could have used the onsite public bath however unfortunately if you have any tattoos you could not enter this facility. If I was able to find some covers for my tattoo I would of loved to experience this!

Great hotel and location. King size was spacious. Staff was helpful, some were completely fluent in English. Good breakfast. Onsen was great - one open roof and the other indoors. There was also a mist sauna.

-king bed was actually two beds placed together -when we ordered breakfast, staff kept informing us that it gets busy and to arrive early but every time we walked by breakfast, it didn't look busy at all and when we arrived there were plenty of tables open. I would say it may get busy because the size of the actual breakfast is small (two tables) and I can see it getting busy but there is plenty of seating. The breakfast itself was also good, standard japanese hotel breakfast.

The hotel is very close to the train station, very easy check in, helpful kind staff. The room was very large (king room), the bed was HUGE almost two double beds together. A lovely view of Nagasaki from the room too. They have good facilities and we were able to use their self service laundry which was very handy. Breakfast was great, a wide variety both western and Japanese style. The dining area is large and there was no waiting or issues with capacity. Lovely view from this floor too. We had our luggage delivered to the hotel which was no problem for them to receive and they also assisted us with sending our luggage to our next hotel which was incredibly helpful. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

Nothing!

Amazing hotel in Nagasaki's Chinatown. Excellent facilities - it is probably the nicest rooftop onsen I have ever been to. Beautiful view of the stars while you're steaming off the baths. Room was impeccable, clean and just very very nice. Breakfast buffet was excellent with an AMAZING view of Nagasaki. It's also connected to a store downstairs and its sooo convenient. Lots of excellent food options nearby as well.

This is more for Nagasaki tourism in general - I would have appreciated a shuttle bus to Chinatown or to major landmarks.

We liked the beds, the stunning view over Nagasaki from the window and the unique design of the sofa. It was nice to have the spa area (with the nice outside view for the public bath and the sauna). The shower was good and the pillows were soft. Nice TV. They had craft beers and other snacks and drinks to buy from reception (albeit a bit expensive). The hotel can be easily reached from Nagasaki Airport (first stop on the limousine bus going towards the city center followed by a four minute walk). The staff were very courteous and polite.

My wife would have appreciated to find some basic skincare and beauty amenities for women, as there were none. There was no free coffee provided and no bath salt (which would have been a nice touch considering there was a bath tub in the room). The outside public bath could have been a little bit cleaner (there were quite a few bugs in the water).
