Good location, the front desk worker was great and very nice. She was fast and friendly, she answered all the questions I had. Pool looked nice, and the room was big with comfy beds. Lights all worked fine and towels smelled clean and tub was clean. I had a double booking as well on accident or some kind of error through booking.com, the hotel was GREAT at handling it and all the times I called because I was going in circles with a 3rd party, the hotel answered all emails and questions I had. The people who worked on this for me, you were fabulous and patient with me. Thank you. Thank you for canceling that room without fees due to the error. You are much appreciated, and I will hopefully return, without giving you a headache this time.

The hotel and room smelled bad. Like pee almost in our room at least, I brought an air freshener like I always do, and it helped so much otherwise my husband wanted to change rooms. The people next to us were very loud and talked so much and loudly til about 2,3 am which made me not sleep well. But finally got quiet around 4am. That wasn’t the hotels fault but everything else was fine and clean. Thank you

The hotel for the most part was very clean. Although there was a spill the first morning we were there right outside the elevator that ended up drying on the floor. I was concerned that someone would fall and notified the front desk but no one cleaned it up right away. Also the day we left there was quite a bit of ice in the walkways, I felt that was a slipping hazard as well.

My stay was for the graduation of a family member from Navy Camp. The hotel met and exceeded my expectations for what I wanted to be in the place. Very calm, the staff was very attentive and made sure that we were comfortable. I recommend it and if I return to Waukegan I choose this hotel, since it is located very well to go out and enjoy Chicago.

Very clean and easy to find. Staff was very familiar with the area and provided restaurant guides and maps to naval base. Stayed here due to free shuttle to basic training graduation site and back to hotel. Breakfast was good and hot every morning and snack bar in lobby was well stocked. Room was cleaned every morning and restocked. Absolutely no complaints at all with my stay, the facility, or the staff.

The property was conveniently located near six flags great America, which was our purpose for traveling to gurnee. The girl working the desk on Saturday (10/21) night was fantastic, super friendly, welcoming and made check in a breeze (name started with a K). Breakfast was better than most hotel breakfasts, lots of hot options. Hotel was near lots of retail/food options. Pool was smaller than expected but clean and kids had plenty of fun swimming before bed. Room was clean and spacious.

Nothing really stood out as bad. Our blind was torn near the bottom but it didn’t affect use.

I came here for my sons Navy Graduation and felt so welcome from my first encounter. We were even upgraded to a suite and was so so so appreciative and amazed that this happen to us , just a ordinary family. Absolutely loved all the staff I had the pleasure in talking with. Tyrone, Angela, Magdalena and security, cook ( I did not catch their names) but they were all Amazing!!! definitely made me feel like family. I loved everything here. Hot breakfast every day and coffee all day long in the lobby. Very family oriented here. Super close to Sarge Meet and greet, many restaurants, Walmart is within walking distance. Not even 10 mins to Navy Graduation and NEX building. Best hotel for anything for your recruits graduation. They also had hot dogs and chips and juice for after Navy graduation if u wanted to come back eat. There is also a pool with a hot tub. * pictures are all of inside our room. double queen suite*

Most all the staff in this facility went above and beyond. Smile and spoke this included the cleaning crew, and front staff. VERY helpful information of things to do and gave you their card if we needed help while out. Best hotel staff i have ever encountered thanks. They even freshen up your room daily.

On this journey we were heading for my grandsons graduation from naval bootcamp in Great Lakes, Illinois. He mailed home a pamphlet that would help assist us in choosing the best hotel for our stay. After reading through the list, I decided on the "Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites" in Waukegan-Gurnee, Illinois which was about 3.5 miles from the naval base (a ten minute drive). It offered a free shuttle to and from the base on graduation day and for those who decided to stay back at the hotel, they had streamed the graduation in the hotel lobby. All the staff from front desk to housekeeping and dinning hall we're exceptionally friendly, accommodating and very professional. Our room was very spacious which included two big beds that could easily fit four adults very comfortably. Amenities included shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap and bar soap. Our room had a keurig machine with k-cups for coffee and tea bags included. Above the keurig a microwave was provided and to one's left stood a mini refrigerator. A large screen TV was mounted upon the wall, AC etc. A fairly large closet with clothes hangers were provided where your recruit could hang up his uniform while he relaxed with the family. I believe the most important thing for your new sailor was to take a nice hot shower and get some long deserved rest. Just these two things would make his day. No better place to do this than at the "Holiday Day Inn Express Hotel and Suites. " Breakfast was included in the price and was way above your normal continental which included scrambled eggs, link sausage, meat patties, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon buns and various doughnuts, fruits, cereals, coffee, tea, fruit juices and so much more. It's basically all you can eat before closing at a certain time. For lunch or dinner a McDonald's was within walking distance along with a small grocery store where you could purchase items to place in the fridge.

Very nice hotel. Great staff. Quiet

Our TV didn't work the first day. Apparently a prior guest had changed the set up to use it with a computer. The staff on duty tried to fix it but couldn't. Engineer fixed it when he came to work the next day. Hotel gave us a discount because of the problem. Also coffee pot didn't work

Staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in process was a breeze. Room was clean and spacious. 10 minute drive from Six Flags Great America.

The breakfast was ok. After reading all the reviews about how great the breakfast was, I was expecting better.
