I LOVED everything about this stay, had an amazing view of sunset, big room, big bed and had such a beautiful comfortable feel about the place.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like!

We absolutely loved the laid back atmosphere of the whole place, including all the wonderful staff. You can tell that the owners heart and soul have gone into making this place so nice.It was so peaceful and perfect for our dog with patio doors leading straight outside. There are so many beautiful walks to be had around the area and it was only around 1 1/2 miles into Avebury to visit the historic stones and barrows. The food was excellent quality and cooked with skill and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. What a little gem. We will be back.

Quite creaky floorboards in the room above us so there was a bit of noise at times but we know the owners are gradually making good the things that previous owners had done badly. Apart from that no complaints at all.

We arrived soaking wet after a full days cycling in the rain and was met with a warm welcome and hot tea and biscuits! The marquee in the garden was very helpful with sorting the bikes out of the rain. 3 of us in the 'Robin' room. Best accommodation of the whole trip. Very large room, 2 single beds in the main room and another bed in an attached side room. Bathroom was huge with a bath in the middle of the floor and separate walk in shower. The host couldn't do enough for us and was happy to take our wet cycling gear and run it through the washing machine. The host also ran the attached pub where the food was excellent. Highly recommend staying here...we will be back 👌

Not a single complaint

We loved everything about this place. Cody and Ben couldn't do enough for us even though they were doing an event. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was cozy and friendly. Matilda is a little treasure and Maya provided my dog fix while there. We were leaving on a Sunday for London and were getting the bus to Swindon but Cody and Ben offered to drop us off, in fact it was insisted on. This beautiful little family is in our hearts and we will be back. Stunning location with great food. Thank you Cody for driving us to Swindon, see you soon and thank you again 💜

There was nothing to dislike, it's paradise for me💜💜

What a gem of a stay, they came out to greet us, carry out bags, nothing was too much trouble. Great spacious rooms, quiet, couldn't hear the main road. They cooked our meals from scratch no microwave stuff. The locals were friendly and chatty, I could go on for ages. Superb cooked breakfast and at a time of our choosing. They even gave us a goody bag to keep us going when we left😁. Can't recommend This place highly enough. Every single member of the team were fabulous 10/10

There's nothing not to like

Everything! Their family welcomed us with open arms. It was lovely to be given the tour by the youngest (and most adorably cute) member of the family. We had some special requests with our arrival times and they were very accommodating, allowing me to stay in the bar to work so early in the morning on the day we arrived whilst I waited for my friend to arrive. I was allowed into the room as soon as it was available. They could not do more for us. We stayed for lunch, then dinner and then drank and played cards well into the evening. There wasn’t any need to go elsewhere! Conversation flowed and if we are ever in the area again, this will 100% be where we stay!

Having to leave.

We loved the friendly welcome upon arrival. The patio attached to our room was beautiful when having a glass of wine in the evening. The breakfasts were phenomenal. We ate in the village pub attached to Elderbrook both nights of our stay and really appreciated how flexible Elderbrook were in the times they were willing to cook for us. All the food we ate was great. We loved chatting to the family that run Elderbrook. We also really appreciated the little bag of treats we were given as we checked out to keep us going on our road trip.

Nothing. Our stay was lovely and I couldn't fault it. The family that run Elderbrook are great hosts.

Lovely place to stay in peaceful surroundings. It’s down a country lane and we thought we had missed it at first but then we saw the signs for it. The place has lots of character and history with creaky floors as you would expect in such an old property. We received a warm welcome and was shown our room and where the dining room was and how to get into the bar. The room was large, clean with everything you needed and a very large bathroom with a bath and walk in shower. Lovely big bath sheets as well. The bed was very comfortable and considering the heat that day the bedroom was cool. We eat in the bar that night and as we ordered pie we was told it would take longer to prepare. Not a problem but we could smell the pie cooking which smelt fantastic. It was well worth the wait. I get fed up with going in pubs and you know the food has just come straight out of microwave. Not here. Freshly cooked food. They have a bar area and a dining room with the most amazing fireplace. There is also an outside sitting area. Breakfast was very nice with the most amazing fruit salad. Just like what I have at home most days. When leaving we was even given a goody bag with bottles of water, fruit and biscuits in. Nice touch. This is a family run business so be prepared for the odd toy hanging around, I wasn’t a big fan of having to go through their living room but that’s just me. I guess they have to make the best of the set up they have so no problem. I know what it’s like to live in a pub and all the hard work that’s goes into it. There is room for improvement like the curtain rail in the bedroom needs sorting out and maybe a thicker blind at the bathroom window, not that it’s very over looked but just me I guess. It was a good find and so close to Avebury standing stones. Ben, Cody and their daughter Matilda are superb hosts. And not forgetting Maya their lovely dog. Cody gave us so much information about the history of the place as well which was very interesting.

I wasn't keen on having to go through their living room but there is another door where you can walk around

Finding somewhere to stay as close as possible to Avebury with my clients is often a challenge - I like to know where I'm staying is good - but sometimes you have to try somewhere new. So this was a punt .... that paid off. I love to be in walking distance of Avebury which at 1.5miles across fields this definitely is for me. (Although this time we chose to drive to the stones, I went for a lovely walk after dinner following some of the route.) The best thing for me is that the suite room ('Robin') means that a) My client and I can have separate rooms but b) I don't have to book two separate rooms and neither of us know if the other is awake! What is extra special about that room is that the big room (my client's) is vast - a gorgeous super-king bed and fabulous view - and enough space for the two of us to do some of the 'work' part of our stay - with the tub chairs and table and plenty of floor space for spreading paperwork out. Also the bathroom is palatial (my client very much enjoyed the free-standing roll-top bath!) We ate at the pub (as we were there on a day it was open for food) and all dishes were delicious - as was breakfast which comes with incredible choices... it would be easy to be delightfully greedy! I never know how often I have my 3-day immersive clients... but I look forward to bringing the next one here. Cody and Ben (and Matilda & Maya) give you the best of welcomes and dare I say they are undercharging for the service and quality? ... I think I do ... they could easily put their prices up and still be fabulous value.

If I'm being picky - a couple of more obviously healthier or lighter option items on the menu might be good (although there was a Caesar salad - so it's my bad that I went for the hunter chicken and chips)

If you stay at Elderbrook House, you will feel as though you're walking into a family home. Welcomed like a friend visiting for a night or two by the proprietors, golden retriever Mia, and their little daughter (who is adorable). Not only is it literally on the edge of the Avebury henge complex, but is also attached to the smallest and most charming old world pub you can imagine. Another fun element: how many places can you order soft boiled eggs and dippy soldiers for breakfast? You can at Elderbrook! And on the way out, the little girl was determined to give me a packed lunch of a banana, cookie and bottled water! Awww.

It was just great.
