I love the bear hotel. They’ve the most amazingly friendly, kindest staff and THE OWNER, particularly this weekend was AMAZING ! Thank you so so much for your hospitality. I ve been staying at the bear on and off about 10yrs, during boarding school exeats, after school drop offs etc.. it’s been a home from home. As my 2 son’s been to the local college. Highly recommend it for the parents of their kids at the Marlborough college.. Fantastic place, if you’re in Marlborough over the weekend, you’re surrounded by local pubs, restaurants (including the bears own restaurant & pub, their burgers are amazing) there’s plenty to do in town. For me unfortunately it was the end of an era. My youngest now graduated, hopefully one day we’ll stay at the bears again. Thank you so much for everything..xxx

I am aware of the fact it’s an old & very quirky property, that’s part of its beauty. They’re doing some work to update the property, which is brilliant

We booked for 2 nights just minutes before we went in. Checking in was easy and fast. I like the bed, pillows and duvet. They were clean.and.just lovely. It was relaxing to sleep at night. The room was still spacious with a double bed and two single beds. Towels were provided. It was a shared bathroom/toilet which is clean and well maintained....shower was great. Pub was right downstairs with a beer.garden. Located right where the town is. We actually enjoyed our stay here.. its comfortable, clean and.have everything.that you need and we slept well at night.

Nothing i can think of. It was right on the top floor but that was not a big deal for us.

The staff were really friendly and helpful! The room was nice and big with lovely high ceilings and windows and what’s seems to look like a brand new bathroom. The hotel has character and we would definitely stay here again.

The only ‘issue’ we had was the furniture was placed strange in the room. The TV was behind the bed board so we couldn’t watch is without sitting at the other end which was uncomfortable and the bed was blocking a beautiful fire place.

Excellent value accommodation at £35 for a double room. Nothing fancy but my room was large and airy and very comfortable with en-suite facilities. The pub downstairs is very lively and offers bar meals- there are plenty of other places to eat within the town too. Please note that there isn't any parking at the hotel, street parking nearby is limited to two hours free until 18:00 hours, resuming again the following day at 08:00- this means that you are able to park from 16:00 hrs until 10:00 hrs the following day FOC. There is a long stay car park some distance away which might suit some people better.

Really nice large comfy room, clean towels, lots of tea and coffee, in a convenient place in picturesque Marlborough. Check in was super easy, too. Really good value for the price.

Minor complaint. The shower was a bit old and tired. It was a bit noisy outside, which didn't bother us, but might bother a more sensitive person. Parking was a bit confusing as the main parking area on the High Street was limited to two hours, but we we shown a free place to park off the main street.

Great en-suite double rooms st a reasonable price, right in centre of Marlborough. Friendly staff who also found somewhere safe to keep our bikes overnight

If you’re on the first floor then the noise from the bar comes through - but they do warn you when there’s a live band on. Second floor rooms relatively quieter

The room was precisely as pictured - it was very well prepared. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. It all felt very in keeping with this ancient market town. I went for breakfast in the dining area/cafe which was excellent. The bar feels like a proper local! Highly recommend all on fronts.

Three flights of stairs and no lift - but it is a Grade 2 listed building and very traditional old hostelry so could not expect anything else.

Very comfortable, generously spaceous room, The bed and pillows are just right. The pub and hotel are located perfectly at the end of High Street.

Its located towards the main street corner and I would not recommend it for noise-sensitive guests. The windows do not cancel out any trafik noise.

Great room 1 huge window, clean and amazing value for money, friendly landlord and staff, fun customers, traditional English pub. Parking easy on the main parking area in the centre of town and Wiltshire council have an app, free 6pm to 8am. Good beer too
