Stunning driveup & entrance to the historic building. Warm welcome at reception. Beautiful bedroom, with seating area & a large bathroom. Very large comfy bed. Quiet at night which meant we slept well. Property beautifully decorated for Christmas with many Christmas trees & large roaring fires. Felt like we were guests at a stately home, visiting friends. Food in the Bistro restaurant was good & we loved the wood panelling. The lovely spa facilities, pool, steam & sauna, definitely a bonus.
Think the breakfast service could be better. The way the buffet was laid out in different rooms, could be better. Long wait on our first morning for our plated cooked breakfast. Although tasty, we found it quicker on the second morning to help ourselves. Dinner in the bistro, was nice, However, the overall experience, was let down by a certain member of staff. His attention to detail regarding drink orders, needs to be worked on.

The hotel is a beautiful building set in a very nice countryside location. The room was very nice, well decorated and very comfortable. The pool and sauna/steam room were modern and enjoyable, albeit a little over crowded. The Cocktails were very nice at the bar. Generally a nice and pleasant experience staying at Ruston Hall.
Though we didn’t pay for a spa day, as access to the facilities were included within our stay, we wouldn’t have done so on the basis of the small facilities in comparison to others we have visited. The food at the restaurant, although tasty, was a little small and left us feeling a little disappointed. Not too many things that we didn’t like, however given the price, we would be expecting a little more from the hotel.

Really lovely old building in the perfect location for our visit to Rockingham Castle. Staff were generally very good. Room was a good size and had everything you needed.
The service could have been a bit “slicker”. We were greeted by a lovely helpful lady on our arrival. The spa was nice but they weren’t very good about things like making sure there were glasses at the water machine etc, it’s the little things that tip it over to a perfect stay. We were in a section of the hotel with a lot of stairs, no one checked before hand that we would be ok with that. There was an EV charger on view but was not available for guest use.

Breakfasts were exceptional with a great choice and the buffet food was hot, fresh and very tasty. Dinner was very good although we would have liked a slightly bigger menu in the brasserie as we don't go for tasting menus. My only comment on our stay were the cheeses. Why not offer British artisan cheeses or some unusual French cheeses? There is a huge choice. Our room was very comfortable and I liked having my shoes cleaned for a change. Overall a lovely stay with excellent service in a marvellous stately home. We also enjoyed the gym.
The cheeses!!

What a beautiful place to stay! The building is really interesting and it is great to learn about its history. It is tastefully furnished and decorated. We loved our rooms which were beautiful and comfortable. The spa is in a lovely, natural setting. We enjoyed walking in the grounds. The breakfast choices were fabulous so that was a delight! The staff were so helpful and friendly. They made such an effort to make life easy for my partner (who was in a wheelchair)by making sure a ramp was in place when we needed it. A big thank- you to all of the staff who made this trip very memorable.

Beautiful grounds, stunning building and architecture, a wonderful experience overall. Helpful and kind staff, lovely spa and swimming pool. We really loved walking around the building, the architecture and interior design of the property was like a national trust property, so much history and finishes in the building that you just would never see in a modern hotel or building. Gardens were really lovely too. The food in the brasserie was really nice but perhaps a little expensive.
The room wasn’t quite like the deluxe room pictured, which looked a lot more modern. In our room there was a few cosmetic things that needed fixing and painting. However the room was large and the bed was super comfy. Food and drinks were a little expensive.

Quite frankly one of the best hotels in the country. As someone who spends half his life travelling and staying at hotels, you really begin to separate the great from the good and well, the rest aren’t worth commenting on. There are many luxury hotels and country house hotels that boast 4 stars, but few really deliver, even less deliver 5 star luxury. Rushton Hall has the lot, however – from start to finish the place met and exceeded expectations, from the friendly, knowledgeable staff to the excellent afternoon tea, incredible after hours room service (genuinely, the ingredients quality alone was something to behold), to the high finish in all the rooms. So often you find rooms that look great on first inspection, but tired and worn when you look closer (think broken mis-aligned plug sockets, lights not working, etc etc). At Rushton Hall you will find none of that – the standard is truly first class across the board. Whether travelling for work, for leisure or both, this place will have you covered! I can’t wait to come back and spend longer next time – especially as I would love to spend some time in the gorgeous spa. And to the AA, you need to come back and re-inspect, how you haven’t granted 5 stars is truly beyond me!

The building and grounds are beautiful. It has a tranquil, elegant atmosphere. The staff were attentive, friendly and hospitable. We enjoyed the food and drink. Our room was right next to the lovely spa, where we received excellent treatment, adding to the generally laid back experience!
Being picky here, but we felt that the beautiful great hall was too brightly lit! The sumptuous sofas encourage lounging but the light from impressive overhead chandeliers took away a little of the intimacy that table lamps or candles would add.

A beautiful, historic building of stunning architecture. Despite it being a chilly day and the property being enormous, it was lovely and warm inside. The room was large, beautifully furnished and comfortable. All the staff was friendly, helpful and efficient I couldn’t fault our stay and can not understand the negative reviews I read prior to our stay. The food was excellent, we enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner and all were of a really high quality. I also enjoyed a wonderful massage with Connie who was lovely.
There was nothing we didn’t like.
