All staff were welcoming and helpful. I had requested some Soya milk and after my case being taken to my room I was able to make a cuppa with milk provided. Room good size and bed comfy the breakfast choices were very good so many cereal choices and cooked options very good too. Location is fab as situated right by train station and bus stops and walking distance into Marple and Marple Bridge and ample parking if you are driving.
A long mirror would be good 👍🏻. I think some general maintenance is needed when I locked my bedroom door it felt as though part of lock was going to fall off and the close proximity of my door to the room next to it was a little bit odd and sadly whoever was staying in that room I’m guessing used the shared bathroom as they were getting up at least five times in the night and mostly from midnight onwards into early hours and because door so close it did disturb me as sounded like someone trying my door.

Spotlessly clean , arts and craft type house, , full of character, relaxed and very quiet with superb breakfast, very warm and very welcoming hosts. Frankly we would always choose Oakfield Lodge now over any of the chain hotels nearer Manchester centre. Great value for money, easy access to Manchester and lovely area. Now our second time and with certainly return. We brought our dog and a £5 pound fee is a quarter of the motorway chain hotels. Will certainly be back and refreshing to find a traditional owner run place of this quality that trumps the rest!
Absolutely nothing not to like.

The guest house is lovely , a little dated for my taste and creaky (expected from an old property like this) but it was impecably clean! The main reason we booked here was I was a bridesmaid at a friends wedding and the reception was a very short walk away. Reading the reviews breakfast was mentioned alot and it did not disapoint it was lovely , full english good portion and choices of tea coffee and juice etc , high quality ingredients used. The staffing team were always on hand and very frindly and efficient, all in all a lovely stay and would definately go back and stay again.
We booked a private bathroom room as we didnt want to share with others, when we arrived we were told our bathroom was next to our room (note on the door that the bathroom was only to be used by room 4) so nothing stopping people using it if they relly wanted, I also did not bring a robe to wear so when leaving the room could be seen in reception if i was popping to the bathroom and obviously middle of the night had to leave my room to go to the toilet etc which was not ideal.

Location is lovely by the canal and on the edge of the Peak District. Good variety of places to eat nearby (I went to the Cambodian restaurant). Decent amount of parking in the driveway/front yard. It was quite full when I arrived but the host was really kind helping me squeeze in (thanks!), which was just part of the friendly welcome I received. I stayed in the basement / garden room, which was lovely and I appreciated having my own separate entrance via the garden. Breakfast was good and hearty and served very quickly.
Nightmare traffic reaching the place from Manchester Airport (took about an hour 5:30 to 6:30 pm) and also on towards Glossop next morning (that also took about an hour). Don’t know if that’s normal and just due to volume of traffic on roads with a lot of traffic lights? Don’t believe time estimates from Google maps anyway!

We received a warm welcome on check-in and were given information regarding the WiFi and breakfast times. Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet and we were able to make ourselves hot drinks as required and our breakfast was excellent; all freshly cooked and served to our table. The accommodation was close to the railway station and a short walk from the town making this a very convenient place to stay.

Quirky, not modernised, but very welcoming and homely. Whilst decor is outdated, it's clean and comfortable, with friendly down to earth staff and a good breakfast. Discovered a lounge just before leaving too with a small pool table, guitar and board games. Quiet place with nice views to the rear. Close enough to canal, Marple Bridge, town centre and train station.for low carbon travel.
Nothing significant... If you're all about modern decor and aesthetics then it's probably not the place for you. Otherwise it's perfect for a short stay in Marple.

Really friendly and helpful family run B&B, great value for money, breakfast was delicious. Comfortable bed and peaceful sleep. Really close to the train station and a short walk from the town centre. Stain Glass windows were beautiful! Reliable taxi company phone number given before arrival.
Not a deal breaker for me - Worth noting that some of the bathrooms are a walk across the hall from bedrooms, don't forget to pack a robe :)

We thought the house beautiful comfy and warm enough. Good location within walking distance to the restaurants , pubs and shops.
We were a bit disappointed with the fact the bathroom was separate from our room especially as we had phoned to get assurance that it would be en suite . Because of that we did not bring dressing gowns for night visits to the loo. We both found this difficult.

The team at Oakfield Lodge could not have been more accommodating for us. We stayed the night of our wedding and they worked really hard to finish off some decor in the Garden Room to ensure we could have a bedroom with our own bathroom as we were late in booking it and all en suite rooms had sold out. The guest house is so charming and we loved the dining room where we had the most gorgeous full English! A huge thanks to the family who run it - you gave us the loveliest start to married life together! Really nice to have check out at 11 also. Highly recommend for a stay.

This place has real charactor, it's my favourite B&B in Britain. Breakfast was exceptional, I had full vegetarian English, in their wonderful breakfast room, with its extraordinary view. I love all the ornaments and decor, particularly at Christmas, but all year round. My room was comfortable, with en suite. I have been twice now and both rooms were great, even with shared bathroom. Great location for Stockport and The Peak District. They work very hard to make this place what it is.
