- the room is huge and very comfy (mind you, the hotel has been built back in 1941); it has a huge 2-person bed, a tiny closet, a bigger bathroom, large TV and writing table; aaah, also, you have got yourself a microwave, a coffee machine, an iron and smaller things useful for the beach; - there are 2 markets nearby - if you don't wanna dine at expensive and awful (in terms of food quality) beach diners - quick stuff can be organized with products you find at those stores (go for fruits); - Louis, the admin, is extremely helpful - every time I asked for something he was for there for me (even if I didn't ask, there was always a helpful hint or offer - be it a beach umbrella or towels, or anything of sorts); - the hotel location is... well, 3 minutes from the water if you are slow :D; 2 minutes from those famous 'neon places' at the promenada; - the safe works! (I know it shouldn't be mentioned but my safe back in NY refused to cooperate); and this hotel, while being old, will surprise you with everything working as expected; - they have organized an experience for me - the Jet Ski ride; nothing to add there - I have appeared there & those folks were waiting for me already; everything went great;

- nothing, I got much more than I paid for, if I am honest. - hm, if I was to be very picky: 1) the water volume in the bathroom is thin, even if turned to the max; but well, the pipes must be quite old & it is close to the beach, not easy to pump, presumably. 2) the street for obvious reasons is very loud, if you can't sleep & traveling with a child - think about it twice; but I don't have neither of these problems.

The location of this hotel is great, right in the heart of South Beach and close to everything you need. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful: they were able to accommodate our late check-in and free beach towels and even an umbrella were provided free of charge. The studio was very spacious and decorated in the Art Deco style which felt very authentic. Moreover, the place was very clean and had a fridge, microwave and a coffee maker.

The room was quite noisy, especially on the weekends as it was located on the corner of the building, hence on a corner of one of the busiest streets in Miami. This, however, did not impact our rating of the hotel as the rest was exceptional. If you have a preference for a quiet room, make sure to message the hotel beforehand.

At first I wasn't happy with my room. But I talked with Louis and since I was staying for a week he upgraded me a day later to a much better room which was excellent! great service from Louis. The hotel is not new, it's old and you can see it from the bathroom facility, manual door locks, etc. But it has its charms. The hotel is located at a good place, in Collins avenue in the less crowded area, 2 min walk from main road ocean drive and 4 min from the great beach strip. There's also a cool bar very close (Azteca) You can get beach towels daily, just ask at the reception. They clean the room daily at your request and refill the coffee.

The first room was small, noisy (under the stairs) and low maintained (rough bed, only 2 cloth hangers). Could've been great if the TV wasn't some 3-4 local antenna channels, but was chromecast connected or with netflix. Would've been also good if there was water cooler inhouse.

It was great that the hotel also has a ticket booking office for plenty of tours in the area. I loved the typical Miami beach style to the whole hotel - much nicer than staying in a faceless modern hotel which could be anywhere in the world. I loved sitting on the hotel terrace and just doing some people watching. A lot is going on but it isn't loud in the rooms and feels completely safe. Really good vibe in Miami Beach. It is also only one block away from the beach. Luis working in reception was sooooooo helpful in every way. Made us feel totally at home.

Would have been great to have a breakfast option but in the end the bakery just around the corner or the great diner on the corner of Washington / 11th made up for this.

Location, location, location! This hotel is ideal if you are trying to stay close to the action in south beach Miami. It was walking distance to everything. Loved the flexibility this hotel offered me!

The floors are sssssuuuuppppeeerrr thin. I could hear everything that was happening in the room above me. Meaning I only slept when the people above me slept/left for the day/night. If I am to stay here again I will definitely be requesting to stay on the top floor

The Viscay was full of pleasant surprises, it was our first time in Miami and we could only hope that we had made the best choice for our 3-day stay. Right from the start, the manager/receptionist was not only super friendly but ever so helpful - all of our questions were answered with lots of details which are normally only known by locals. Did I mention that we arrived early in the day (from a cruise ship), and instead of being forced to waste the day until check-in time, we were immediately upgraded to a better (studio with kitchen) room and handed the key - with a friendly smile and "welcome". Although the hotel is a couple of blocks from the main beach area, it is handy to all the bus stops and other important facilities like supermarkets and pharmacies. So if you're looking for somewhere inexpensive to stay in Miami, The Viscay Hotel gets our full recommendation. Enjoy!

The only things we didn't like about our stay in Miami had nothing to do with the Viscay Hotel.

Cute little hotel in an art deco style building. Great location to explore Miami beach and the greater Miami from. Service was friendly. Kitchenette had a fridge, a microwave and a coffee machine which was very useful.

The hotel has seen better days, the furniture is a bit dated which is mostly charming but could use a bit of freshenning up. The kitchenette was very sparsely equipped with 1 or 2 of each item (1 fork, 2 cups, 2 plates etc.), which was challenging because there were 3 of us and because there was nothing to wash dishes with.

Central location and clean rooms. 2 minute walk from ocean drive (all the action). Less than 10 minute walk to the beach. Friendly employees at the reception. Not the most modern looking place, but can't complain for the price. They also sell tours which I found to be convenient.

Only slight annoyance with my room was the proximity to the street. Depending on the room you get, will be hearing some noise (cars revving, motorcycles) on the weekend. This is the price to pay when you're so close to the action!

Viscay is one of the highest price performance hotel in South Beach. The room was very comfortable and large with microwave, fridge and coffee machine. The location is in the middle of ocean and all kinds of public and free transportation(2 minutes to both) They also provided us beach towels and umbrellas (which is a must in Miami sun). After check out they stored our luggages kindly, although our flight time is very late at night. We can sincerely recommend to everyone.

I loved everything about this hotel. Louis was friendly and helpful and keen to know what I thought of my studio suite. It was a huge room with lovely furniture overlooking Collins Avenue. Proximity to beach, shops and transport was fabulous. I felt very secure in a very comfortable and welcoming hotel.

I have no criticism of the hotel which provided all required amenities with a kitchenette and full size fridge.
