The room was generally comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding, especially the eggs Benedict, which were amazing. The wifi was reasonably good, and the staff were friendly and professional.

The bed in the room was somewhat too soft for my preference. Additionally, during the cleaning and preparation of the room between my first and second night, the full rubbish bag in the bathroom was overlooked and left unemptied. While I recognize this as a minor issue in the grand scheme of things, it's the kind of detail that would have been valued in a professional setting.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay. We were only there for two nights but wished we could have stayed longer. The room was beautiful, with a lovely patio and steps down to the loch. The staff could not have been more welcoming and it was a pleasure to chat with them. And to top everything off, there were Churros with melted chocolate!!! Yummy!

As amazing as our trip was, I only have one small gripe and I feel really petty putting it down, and only do so due to my own personal phobias. The bathroom floor hadn't been swept properly and there were hairs on the floor. As I said, it's pathetic, but I have such an aversion to hair. Sorry!!!

Family owned and run, friendly staff. Great location covering Dumfries to castle Douglas and the many tourist sites available along this coast. The room was clean and simply furnished. I though we would have noise from the main road but triple glazing worked well. Evening meals were good and breakfasts were cooked to order. Sitting in the restaurant you look out onto the loch and weather permitting can sit out there and enjoy a drink.

There are no paths or access along the loch although you can get to the waters edge at the Inn so if a pre or post dinner wander is your thing you don't have an option.

Loved the room, if a little small

Room lacking an area to place suitcases to unpack and also area for making drinks was very small. No space in the bathroom for toiletries . Great room though with plenty of supplies of coffee and tea and 2 packets of nice biscuits Breakfast wasn't great. The bacon and hash browns were hard as if they had been cooked for a long time. It was also VERY greasy. The lady who served us wasn't particularly helpful. !! We had to ask for sugar, for milk for the coffee, for marmalade to go along with the toast? Surely this should be brought as standard. Only a small amount of toast was brought for 2 of us and we also had.ask for a second cup of coffee. All in all it felt like we were given the bare minimum breakfast.

Absolutely lovely stay, we booked very last minute and the staff were very friendly, they ensured someone was on reception to welcome us. The room was clean, cosy, modern and had everything we needed. The breakfast was great! They had a veggie and a vegan alternative, as well as providing the traditional breakfast + haggis/blackpudding would rate the stay a 10/10. Would definitely revisit in the future and recommend for anyone who has a pet dog, they were very dog friendly! Ours was even able to join us for breakfast!

Only other thing I'd recommend is a dog bowl in the pet friendly rooms.

Room was amazing. Had doors that opened on to a balcony. Which overlooked the loch. We sat having drinks while the sun went down. Nice and clean. All the usual facilities. Tea/coffee making facilities, tv, breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Stayed for evening meal both nights. Plenty of choice too. Restaurant was beside the loch. And we were entertained by water skiers and a family of swans with cygnets. Helped that we had great weather. Great little hotel for a base for visiting local towns .

Shower door bottom was a little grotty and curtains had a bit of damp/ mould on the lining.

Room although small was lovely as was shower room..building sits separate from the bar/restaurant…altho sitting on the A75 road noise didnt bother us… Staff pleasant but no conversation /banter…village is only roughly a mile away but you cant walk as no pavement & on very busy road.. Food was nice & specials on the board-lovely location but too cold for us to sit out this time.. Breakfast served to your table & i had healthy brekkie , hubby had full brekkie both were great…they will ask if u want toast/juice/tea etc..usually thats on a nearby table.. Nice for a one night stopover, the nearby towns are nice too..

Lack of conversation fm staff, lots of dogs

Fantastic location on the loch. Good stop over whilst heading to/from Cairnryan ferry. Meals (breakfast and dinner) were great. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Comfortable bed.

It needs a bit of freshening up (walls in room were a bit grubby) and the cot bed for my son was super uncomfortable. If you’re not a dog lover or allergic - the property does allow pets. (This could be a pro for lots of people). The bathroom light is on a sensor and there is a window in the bathroom door (opaque). The midnight wee is a bit annoying as you end up lighting up the entire room.

Great room with view over the loch. Bed was comfortable, shower was the best we have had so far on our trip , the others have had no real water pressure. Breakfast was good and staff friendly. Ate dinner and lunch there too, prices were very reasonable. Parking available onsite.

Not really within the control of the accomodation. We had a family stay above us and their kids ran around until midnight or after with the sound travelling through the timber floors. No complaints about the actual property itself.

Had stayed a number of years ago and remember the road noise as very near main road, hence requested an upgrade to a lodge of which they accommodated as I was leaving before breakfast of which I paid for. Packed breakfast nice touch and lodge near loch would be my preferred room as opposed to roadside as lorries noisy. Staff excellent

If you book a more cost effective room on booking.com you will be subjected to road noise, this may not effect people but I am a light sleeper.
