Loved everything. Lovely hosts, secure bike storage that is only opened by the owners, clean and bright room with a little kitchen that made all the difference to my week long stay. Loved the fact that the mugs were big enough to hold a proper cup of tea, various different lighting options in the room including a little lamp that was almost like candlelight, shower was great, everything was thought of from a sewing kit and a book in the drawer, all the kitchen things you might need like a whisk, cheese grater etc, and a pint of milk in the fridge and delicious biscuits on arrival. Looking forward to returning next month!

Nothing I didn't like

My husband and I travel a lot across the UK, always within a similar budget. After staying at the Studios at Glenthorne, we both agreed that it was the best room we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. Not only was the room very cozy and stylishly decorated, but the attention to detail was simply incredible. There was even a steam iron and sewing kit in the room! On top of that, there was coffee, tea, delicious scones, and water and milk in the fridge. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, so we felt like at home. We were truly impressed 😊 The guest house is within 15 minutes walk from very nice pubs and restaurants.

Clean, and well equipped kitchen studio. Good shower with instant hot water. Well located for Brecon Beacon. Host Claire was very responsive and helpful, while leaving ample space for guests to get on. On road parking wasn’t an issue. The town itself wasn’t very interesting but the property made it worth it - for easy access to walks etc north.

Sound proof might need some work. We often hear other guests talking and using facilities, which is not normally a big problem but the guest next door got up at 5am every morning and woke us up during the stay. The room door also banged loudly when other doors (and front door) closed - there maybe a quick fix available.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with a kitchenette. The location was fantastic, with easy access to the city center. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting

While the room was clean and comfortable, and the hosts were friendly, the soundproofing was a major issue. Noise from neighboring rooms and the hallway disrupted my stay.

Everything! I really enjoyed stay here. They also thought of the little things that really make a big difference to creating a lovely experience/stay. If I'm back in Merthyr Tydfil, I'll book here again. Next time I may hire a car though, so I can get to Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley for hiking. Because I only had a couple days, and taking public transport takes much longer, I unfortunately missed out on the hiking that one can do around this area

The house is lovely and Claire an amazing host. Everything was clean and comfy and a lot of love has been put into every single detail. It was one of the most well equipped rooms I've ever stayed in and I felt at home.

At times it took a while for the heating to work/heat up the room. (I was staying there when it was super rainy – most of the time that is probably not a problem).

Spotlessly clean, quiet and comfy. Very good value for money . Our bikes were locked away for us after a long cycle. We had a quick cuppa as the kitchens had tea coffee and milk and there were fresh Welsh cakes in each room . Then we strolled into town for a great meal out at Casa Bianca Merthyr. Afterwards we walked backed to Glenthorne and slept like logs. We felt welcome and pampered thank you

Lovely house and the room was spotless, nicely equipped and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good directions to find it and wouldn't hesitate checking their availability first when we come back to this area.

Parking could be tricky immediately outside the house but ended up c50 metres away in The Grove, so not far. However, you can unload cases in the drive on arrival before parking.

The Studios at Glendale are of the highest standards. My Room was lovely. Spotless and comfortable. The owners had secure bike parking which as i was riding at Bike Park Wales was ideal. There was plenty of coffee and tea with milk in the fridge instead of those annoying little long life packets. My bed was very comfortable too. I'll definately return and i'd highly recommend it to friends as an excellent place to stay if visiting Bike Park Wales.

The only thing i didnt like was the hill i had to cycle up to get to get there!

The house itself was lovely and the property had everything u needed for your stay and more besides. Very convenient to town also and plenty of parking in the road nearby. The property was spotless and very comfortable. Great base to explore the Brecon Beacons and surrounding countryside. Claire the host was very friendly and welcoming and close by should we have needed anything.
