I stayed for one night at this charming pub accommodation and had a pleasant experience overall. The room, while basic, was clean and well-maintained. The bed was comfortable, providing a good night’s sleep after a day of travel. The shared bathroom was tidy and had all the essentials, which I appreciated. One of the highlights of my stay was the friendly and welcoming staff. The pub restaurant was great — flavourful and well-prepared, making it a great choice for a meal.

I wasn’t expecting much as it was just a hotel room that I booked for cheap with a shared bathroom, but it turned out to be the best stay I’ve had so far ! :) It didn’t smell, it wasn’t dirty, everyone was so welcoming, I felt like I was at just staying with family friends, the food was really yummy for dinner, everything was in walking distance, the coffee next door was amazing & the bed was so comfortable, I also appreciated how hygienic the shared bathroom was, it smelt nice & fresh ! Very happy & want to stay again next time I come up :)

Personally I love having more air flow (so I just had the window open) but a fan would have been nice as the temperature of the room was good ! Only thing is I noticed the AC didn’t work so I can imagine on a hot day that would be inconvenient haha :)

Lovely heritage accommodation. Great value. Excellent meals available downstairs so this was very convenient on our late arrival. Staff were great.

We had a front room (above the bar and near the street) that may have been a problem for a light sleeper but did not bother us. We have stayed in a back facing room previously and that was quiet. Share bathroom and share coffee/ tea area were reflected in the cost so also not a problem.

A wonderful place! The historic inn with open fire, the location on the beach and in the centre of the small lovely town, the interior decorating of the pub and the cottage, the warm and welcoming pub, friendly welcoming staff, delightful very well equipped cottage with an open fire and sea views, the gorgeous garden. ......

Only a small thing - it was busy, and a couple of basic things we asked for after arrival (coat hangers, an extra blanket) needed to be asked for twice

Love Robe and our stay at the Caledonian Inn. Love the old ship doors into your room, which is beautifully decorated. The shared shower facilities are clean with plenty of room to get changed. Great shower, which is a priority for my stays.

The noise from the balcony function area, but that's to be expected at that time of the year. We normally travel out of the tourist season when it's quieter, but it's the perfect place to stay.

The location was perfect. It was very close to shops and restaurants, but also very peaceful at night. I particularly loved being able to leave the French doors open in the bedroom and listen to waves.

I did notice that as the weather warmed up it became quite warm inside and there was no air conditioning to address this. I imagine on hotter days it could be a bit uncomfortable, although the breeze did cool things down of an evening. I also found it a bit difficult having to go downstairs to use the bathroom through the night (at our ages both my husband and I are light sleepers and wake up at some point each night). That said, I did understand before booking that the accommodation is somewhat dated and honestly the view was worth it.

Location and the beds were so comfy.

Shared bathroom especially when a function was on with lots of other people using them - I knew that when I booked but didn’t realise the toilet part of the bathroom was open for the public to use.

Loved the location & the staff were very accommodating & friendly, firewood was available which was lovely, & sitting on the chairs on the lawn out the front was just beautiful, the beach was right there. Lovely sound of the waves crashing at night

The only issue was there was no air-conditioning, although we were there in mild weather, & didn't need it, on a hot day, it would be very hot, especially upstairs , I think people need to know that The microwave cord didn't reach the power point

Very Clean and comfortable. Not big on shared bathrooms but they were very clean and spacious although older style. The rooms have heaps of character with brass beds and old time furniture but again very clean quality linen and pillows and spacious. Shared lounge and TV area for guests really nice as well and equipped with microwave and fridge. Although it above a pub it was still quite private and no intrusions we felt. The pub was great as well with a good fine dining restaurant, bistro area and cosy bar area all seperate. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially Angus. All in all we enjoyed the stay in this historic pub right in the mai street . in terms of value for money it was fantastic for what you get compared to elsewhere.

We liked the convenience of the location to the beach and the restaurants. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious.

Hearing the singer practising in the room two doors along and the noise on the street/place next door but it was as one would expect when staying in a hotel located on the main street.
