The hotel is beautiful, earning the 4* rating.. staff are friendly and accommodating, trying hard with the limited English some had.. I stayed alone for a week and felt totally relaxed and, most importantly, safe. My view on arrival was terrible. However, they were able to move me for an extra €5 a night.. and it was fabulous..

Out and around the area is nowhere near ready for tourists, in my opinion. Unfortunately, I didn't feel quite as safe, especially in the dark.. I would consider returning for a short break, but a week was too long at this early stage of inviting guests from outside Albania. Especially as a lone female traveller.

Outstanding hotel on the first line beach in Durrës , Plazh area . Huge new rooms as per the photo on booking. Every room has a very comfortable bed , silky white bedsheets , huge bathroom with all amenities, shampoo, soap, sleepers , towels , hair dryer. Room has sleeping area , sitting area equipment with comfortable armchairs , huge TV and a jacuzzi in the room. As a family of 3 adults we had 2 rooms and they were nearly identical with 2 balconies equipped with chairs and tables overlooking the sea. Outstanding view of the beach. Very good WI-Fi. Free parking available inside the propriety, excellent restaurant, tasty food and outstanding bar . People working are so friendly and helpful that you feel like at home . In the hotel all speak fluent Italian and English so no problems of communication.It’s only 30min driving from Tirana.We will definitely come back and there is no other place that we will stay than VIVAS hotel.

Staff who looked and acted new couldn't understand basic English. Hassle over bills which other guest dident seem to have . Charged 54 euro at end of night when we had paid all bills and no explanation what it was for my silly girl friend just paid it . Used to have good staff here but seems all gone and polish chef tool Ballymoney for food and dident bring change it would have gone in a tip to waiter was not happy about this chef the food day before was brill when he was on not in same league . He spent more time smoking and chatting to folk .

The hotel was very nice. We had a small problem with the room, the staff helped and solved the problem it doesn't matter that we arrived on the weekend. Receptionsts speaks english very well.

We had issues with only one staff member. The waiter at the restaurant / bar. He is not speaking English at all. Sometimes we received bill, sometimes not. In addition he used random rate when we paid with eur. For a 4 star hotel the breakfast could be better.

The beds were comfortable, the room was very clean and the shower was great. We had a family room which had a bunk bed for our kids. There was also a TV with some kids channels. The pool was very nice and the bar downstairs had affordable prices. The location makes accessing the city a bit complicated unless you walk (45 minutes ) or take a taxi (for around €8). But there are also plenty of restaurants, an ATM and two medium sized supermarkets within 200 metres of the hotel so you have all you need if you want to just chill out rather than explore. The pool was nice and the check on was quick and easy.

The cleaning staff talked very loudly in the corridor outside the room from around 8:00-9:00 on the two mornings and as the rooms aren't sound proof it makes sleeping a bit difficult. The WiFi in the restaurant, poolside and beach area was okay but in the room it was terrible and you had to stand by the door to get a connection.

Perfect location on the beach.From downtown Durres about 20 minutes walking.Think can use bus running from downtown to Plepa bus terminal (buses to the South such as Vlores).But we did prefer to walk.Plenty of places to each.We prefer eatery on Kruga Pavaresia approx.10 mins walk.Doner 220 LEK and nice plate with meat,fries Lek 450.Funny think - you are not allowed to bring any food,bottled drinks etc - onto your room.Breakfast nice and restaurant with sea view.Not sure about price during summer but January,February price makes it worth visiting.

All was pleasant.The lobby,restaurand,corridors - very nicely decorates.Room perhaps little small and sea view for extra fee.

The location is perfect and its near to all. It is also very easy to locate. They have spacious parking. Dining hall is big. Lounge is big too. My room is perfect Sea View. I never closed my door in balcony 24 hours I breath sea breeze and hear the waves. Beds and linens are so clean. Housekeeping Team are doing their job perfectly. Staff are kind. Angel the Reception on duty when I check in. I actually arrived so early but he allows me already to check and go my room.

The swimming pool must have a water warmer. That even it's cold, peoPle can still swim because the water will be warm. Unfortunately during my stay, spa was closed due to renovation.

The service minded female receptionist helped us with flight tickets and got a tray for my wife to get breakfast to the room when I hurted my leg and couldn't walk.

Problems with juice and coffee machines. Breakfast was not more than ok. The food that was supposed to be warm was chilled down. There were no sunbeds and there were reconstruction of the beach promenade.

it was clean, on the beach so an excellent location.
