This is the fourth time I have stayed at the Nags Head in Adamstown. It is comfortable with plenty of bedding, the rooms are a decent size, and despite being a popular hotel, it is reasonably quiet in the accommodation section. The bathrooms and bedrooms are very clean, and the location is nice and central to many facilities in Newcastle. I didn't visit the bistro this time, however I have previously dined there and the food is good, and the decor is tastefully reminiscent of 1920s New York.

A little more options for tea and coffee would be handy. There was only coffee available, no tea. I did have enough coffee to satisfy, but the option of tea would be welcome as well.

Location is great, convenient to a lot of different things. The room was clean and comfortable, good size, and the sound from downstairs was barely audible. Downstairs was fun, the locals were welcoming, staff were friendly and helpful with any questions, enjoyed getting involved with the trivia and other things in the evenings. Nice beers on tap and I really enjoyed the meals I had there too. I've never stayed in a pub before but I would stay here again whenever I'm in Newcastle next.

such a beautiful pub-hotel, rooms were comfy and clean, so were the shared bathrooms. very good location with nice cafes and restaurants down the road. staff was friendly. we really liked the atmosphere on a saturday night, first it was sports' time and then there was a live band: they let you know before you book that on weekends there will be some noise untill 11pm for these kind of events and they finished at 11pm sharp, then it was really quite. we had dinner over there on sunday night, I must say the food was truly yummy and the pub/restaurant area so nice, with even a fireplace!

if I must really say something, it would be about the tv in the room, which was a regular tv and not a smart one: with smart tvs, the place would be just perfect!

The room was smaller than it looked in the pictures, but big enough for an overnight stay. The bed was comfy and the shared bathroom facilities were clean. The ladies shower was great! Good pressure, hot water and the towels were I think bath sheets so bigger than a regular towel. The staff were very welcoming and made sure we knew exactly how to get in and out of the building and explained about the live band playing till 11pm. To be honest though, it was pretty quiet until about the last two songs. Would stay there again!

The reverse cycle in our room didn't seem to work overly well. It just didn't seem to do anything really and then about two hours later kicked in. Little hidden detail is they do take a $100 deposit on check in which you get back if no damage ect but it takes 4 - 10 days.

The staff were brilliant. The room extremely clean and fresh accommodation facilities lacked nothing. Apart from teabags. Restaurant menu very inclusive with separate vegan menu option. Meals affordable for seniors and of exceptional quality.. This was evident from the fact that the restaurant was booked out on a Tuesday night. Restaurant booking recommended although staff are willing to make other facilities available for those that just drop by. Happy to take meals to bar or lounge.

Unfortunately no lift and stairs a bit of a challenge for me. No Hand rails but for able bodies not a problem.. coffee in room but no teabags.

For a pub hotel, it was great. Staff were very friendly and check in was easy. Shared bathroom but the facilities were outstanding, with a very large set of character bathrooms and very large showers. Pub had a very busy and popular restaurant which was handy to use and the pub itself is awesome.

Not their fault, but the location wasn't ideal for my trip so I probably wouldn't stay again.

This place was perfect for our one night stay heading down to Sydney. Room contained a very comfy bed, cupboard and a sink with coffee making facilities. Shared bathroom with two showered and two toilets, was very clean. Great location with plenty of food options around if you choose not to eat onsite. We had dinner there it was standard pub food and delicious cocktails. Free parking at the rear of the hotel. The staff were friendly, particularly the young lady who checked us in, also served us dinner. Would stay again.

Staffs are so friendly and kind. The room has a small sink so I didn't need to go to bathroom to brush my teeth. The bathroom was share but it was so clean and didn't see anyone so it was like private anyway. We went to the downstairs dining for drinks and dinner, and it was delicious! The price is so reasonable and affordable, highly recommended!

Nothing to complain.

Staff went above and beyond, super helpful and accommodating THE BED - due to work I've stayed in over 50 hotels. This has got to be the best bed I've ever slept in. Cleanliness - super clean, couldn't even fault the shard bathroom

The only 2 slightly annoying things: 1)No power outlet near bed. bedside lamp had to be plugged in at sink 2) No towel rack near the sink for face cloth and no towel rack so towel could dry inbetween uses Hooks to hang wet towels so they can dry Hook to hang face cloth near the sink
