Our second time staying here. Good location with a big car park next to the hotel. 800 yen for overnight parking. Buffet breakfast was good with enough variety. They don't always replenish the dishes on time or when it is close to the end but you can ask the staff to refill.

There was one counter staff who point blank said no to our request to make a booking for dinner. In all my years of travelling in Japan, this was the first time I hv encountered such behaviour. To be fair we don't know whether it is the hotel policy. Anyway, aside from this particular incident, the rest of the staff were friendly n helpful.

The laundry operation is visible on the in-house TV so you can see how many machines are being used and when they will be finished. This is very handy. Also means you can see when your washing is ready to collect. Very good breakfast

We chose the eco cleaning option which we understood would mean room cleaning every 3 days. We were there for 4 nights in early summer and would have liked the bedding changed after the third night but there was little evidence of a room clean on the third day. In retrospect we would have chosen cleaning every day. Four days without a change is too many. Also, there is no benefit to the guest, apart from the idea that you are saving the world; feels more like you are saving the hotel some costs. This is the only niggle. Otherwise an excellent hotel

The Richmond met all of our expectations. Only the location being just a little away from the JR station was unexpected. However, it was only a 10 minute walk to the station where we could find a ton of restaurants and shops. So being on the south entrance had its benefits of being a quiet, slower side of the train starion which was great for families with young children. This was very evident in what we witness at the buffet breakfast where half the patrons of 40 plus diners were children under 10 years of age. The breakfast itself was great as it had a good array of food and dishes for all ages on top of being very oishi.

Everything you need when you've got a busy itinerary. All staff around the hotel are polite and kind. The room is a little basic but it has all the essentials needed and the hub on the TV was really useful - particularly for laundry. Only a few minutes away from Himeji station so very convenient. Great value for money and recommend if you've got a busy schedule.

Missed having shelving or a place to unpack clothing. There was only a rail next to the door for coats/shoes.

We often stay in Richmond hotels in Japan. We find that they are very clean, comfortable and offer very good value for money.The one in Himeji was no exception. It is a five minute walk from the station and walkable to the Castle. Alternatively, you can take a short bus trip from the station to the castle. They young staff are very helpful and several spoke some English. There was a variety of western and Japanese food for breakfast.

This hotel well situated minutes from the train station, and thereby not far from Himeji castle. They also gave my young children little bags with house slippers and toothbrushes their size, which was an extra added touch we greatly appreciated!

There was a limit on how many people could get breakfast, which we did not realize when booking the room. We intentionally booked rooms that didn't include breakfast because it would have counted my young children at adult rates. I thought I could just pay for breakfast out of pocket when we arrived at a cheaper rate, but because they were full the days we were there, we had to go out to eat.

Room was clean, modern, and nicely laid out. It was convenient to be able to select what type of cleaning you needed on the room TV. Bed was comfortable. Pyjamas and bathroom amenities were provided. Staff provided good service and were able to explain parts of the hotel policies in English as well as Japanese. This hotel was located really conveniently next to the station and not too far from Himeji Castle. I would stay at this hotel again.

There is no plan in place for people with food allergies or dietary restrictions. The lady at the front desk was kind enough to check with the restaurant if there was anything I could eat at all (gluten allergy). The only options for me were the raw vegetables at the salad bar, and even then she wasn’t comfortable with recommending I eat there because of cross-contamination issues. I would imagine cross contamination would be an issue for all types of allergies and dietary needs.

I thought this hotel was of a very good quality - more than a 3 star hotel. The customer service was excellent as it was throughout Japan. The room was comfortable and a good size and it had a great view out over the city. The hotel is close to the station and it was very easy to walk there and also to Himeji Castle. I had breakfast downstairs one morning, which was quite good value for money.

I would have liked more vegetarian options at breakfast as most of the dishes had meat in them. However, I didn't ask for this so perhaps I could have done.

Very nice and helpful staff, location is perfect - in a quiet area 5 mins away from the JR/Shinkansen station and 15 mins away from the castle. Very nice room with good amenities. We were upset that we stayed there for only one night :)

Very beautiful and clean hotel. The room was of a nice size, very clean and super comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast had also a nice variety specially for me that enjoy yogurt and fruits in the morning with some sweetnesses :) There was the possibility to do laundry and it was as well nicely clean.
