Very spacious single room with separate shower/bath, TV, telephone and facilities to make hot drinks. Great amount of storage and hairdryer provided. The reception staff were very welcoming and the £2.20 parking voucher extremely useful. I paid for a very reasonably priced breakfast for both mornings which was well cooked and well presented. Needless to say I didn't need lunch on either day.

The shower was mounted on the side wall of the bath with a metal frame (possible radiator) above the taps where youd expect the shower head to be which meant negotiating how to stand awkward. The head was fixed on the wall below head height. Fine for me as I wasn't wanting to wash my hair but if I had, that would have been a challenge.

The room was well-appointed & dog-friendly, all the hotel staff were friendly & entirely customer-focused & the location was absolutely ideal.

The bedside lights were a little too bright for our liking, there was no means of charging my phone overnight on my side of the bed (no wall socket) & the only hotel lift stopped working half way through our stay, meaning multiple hikes up & down to the 4th floor on two days, including the day when we needed to pack up our things & leave. Our dog has a heart condition & we had to carry him up & down four floors, which would have been okay, had we not had to also pay £10 a night for him to be with us in the first place!

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and welcoming. As it was New Years Eve, the hotel was decorated beautifully and had a real cosy feeling to it. The bar served a variety of drinks and the breakfast was great, with lots to choose from. I travelled with my dog for the first time and everyone, including other guests were happy to have her there. A special mention to the waitress Izzy, who was so helpful and polite during my stay! Thank you for looking after me and Dolly the dog 🙂

Room was lovely and a sea view! it was great to be able to open a window too - so often it is not possible. Being a tall person I found the 'half bath' a little challenging to get up from. I had stayed many years ago in my childhood and wanted to see how it differs today. I was pleasantly surprised.

Breakfast was a little old fashioned - a continental breakfast would have been good too. Coffee was not great - one gets used to the machines or being able to alter the strength of it.

Loved the location, and paid for sea view and balcony which was ok.the staff that we did chat with seemed polite, was right across from the bandstand and we had the couple of night bands were playing. The first night wasn't so good but second night was great

Right across from bandstand which with sound check was bit noisy but finished by 21:30. Was shared balcony which wasn't mentioned when booking. Dispite the signs our neighbour was still out smoking. No way to put sign on outside of door.

The whole experience was seamless and the staff were extremely helpful. The room had a beautiful seaview over the bandstand from which we heard the band and saw fireworks. A lovely cleaner who we met had done a good job preparing the room. It is the perfect location for the tennis which was brilliant. Breakfast was very well delivered. Thanks to everyone.

Only one tiny thing was that the shower wasn’t very powerful, but I accept that comes with an old, characterful building.

Great location, clean; friendly staff.

The Floorboards in the floor were I stayed were very creaky so I could hear the person in room 310 moving about and when I was walking in my room I assumed they could hear me. That made me anxious about disturbing them. The walls were very thin too so I could hear the person in room 310 coughing, sneezing etc as well as their conversations on the telephone.

The staff were all lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful sea view. Spacious lounges and dining areas.

Creaking floorboards! Kept being woken up during the night a) because the room was so hot and b) creaking floorboards above my room and along the corridors. There were no drinking vessels in my room other than a mug for tea.

This is the second time we have stayed here and to be honest it's seemed brighter and cleaner the staff are more chatty and helpful I don't know if the hotel is owned by different people but this stay was so much better I would recommend it 100% although breakfast you should get more for the price they charge.

There's only one thing and it's minor I think balconies should be separated so each room can have abit of privacy
