You'll never be bored here. Work productively in the co-working space during the day and explore Weligama. In the evenings, unwind by watching movies, participating in workshops, or just chilling within the hostels welcoming ambiance. The staff, particularly Anjana, are incredibly friendly. Anjana possesses a beautiful soul and radiates positive energy. I stayed at the hostel last season, and her presence undoubtedly elevated the experience.

I had an amazing stay at Sugar Hostel. The space is beautifully designed, with a spacious reception area and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff, especially Angel, were incredible—her positivity and friendliness made the experience even more enjoyable. The hostel also stands out for its excellent wifi and the thoughtful addition of a co-working desk, making it a perfect spot for remote workers.

The hostel beds and showers are well-maintained and clean, but the area behind the reception could be tidied up to create a more organized space for the staff.

Fell in love with the place from the moment I arrived. I was greeted with a warm welcome by the staff. The staff members were super helpful and always have a smile on their face. They have a specially designed co working space fully equipped with all what you need to work while you enjoy your stay. Had my breakfast on the roof top restaurant and felt so amazing. I also had the opportunity to try surfing under the guidance of a great surf coach introduced by the sugar hostel. It is a safe haven and wish I had a longer stay.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sugar Hostel Weligama to the fullest! Even though there was some construction going on in the front area, it didn’t bother us at all. The atmosphere was still relaxed, the staff was super friendly, and the place was clean and comfortable. The construction didn’t interfere with our experience, and everything else more than made up for it. It’s a great spot to meet other travelers and enjoy Weligama's laid-back beach vibes. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a chill and budget-friendly stay

As a backpacker, this is my 24th country, and Weligama has become my favorite destination! Sugar Hostel is hands down the most fantastic place I’ve ever stayed. The vibe here is super chill yet productive, thanks to the amazing co-working café. It’s just 2 minutes from the beach, and they even have a surf school! The combination of a relaxing atmosphere and great facilities makes it a perfect spot for work and leisure. Highly recommend this gem for anyone visiting Weligama!

I had an amazing time staying at Sugar Hostel Weligama! Although there was some construction happening at the front, it wasn’t an issue at all. The chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and social vibes more than made up for it. We barely noticed the work, and it didn’t disrupt our stay in any way. The location is perfect for surfers and beach lovers, with cozy spaces to relax and connect with other travelers. Would highly recommend staying here if you’re in Weligama!

I truly felt at home here and met some amazing people. The owner is super friendly and always ready to help, organizing various activities to keep things lively. They also have a beautiful beachfront villa where I enjoyed a BBQ lunch. I had the chance to work in both the beachfront co-working space and the main co-working hub, which was incredibly convenient. Overall, I’m very satisfied with my experience here!

I had such a wonderful stay at Sugar! Everything was absolutely perfect. They have a fantastic co-working space and a really relaxing chill area, which made my time there so enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly and always had a smile on their faces. I already miss Shadow—such a sweetheart! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great experience.
