The setting at Arma is simply stunning. Huge tropical gardens and the added bonus of a river and an art gallery. We stayed in the ‘family’ villa which is actually two adjoining 1 bedroom villas with a private pool, and the rooms were phenomenally luxurious and beautiful. It was like a private slice of jungle paradise, but just within walking distance of great restaurants and the monkey forest

Nothing, except we’d run out of money if we stayed too long!

The staff and beautiful grounds and location were top notch! A free afternoon tea was a fantastic benefit. Just what you would imagine for an Ubud resort. We also had a terrific 2 hour massage at the Spa that capped off our stay. We also attended two wonderful shows that are staged on the grounds. Well worth the admission price for the events. The included breakfast was also good with a good selection.

While the room was super spacious and not cookie cutter, the bathroom/shower/tub is on a lower level, there are two VERY steep steps with no handrails and are stone so always a scary trip. Also no TV in the room (which was fine, but surprising on arrival). The “door” to the room was super flimsy and locked on the outside with a padlock, while you were inside only had a wood latch. Felt uncomfortable when I thought about how easy it could be easily opened. Also MANY stairs on the property, so beware if that’s an issue for you. We were far back on the property and construction was taking place on a new unit from 6:30 am - 9:30 pm every day, sort of ruined the experience of a quiet lush experience.

the breakfast had a very good varity to choose from the area was nice inside but to go outside close by the sidewalk was very dangerous and uneven and traffic was very bad to try to cross street there was a very nice supermarket across the road if you can cross was the problem the nature beauty around was like a paradise the museum has beautiful art by balinese painters and many culitural programs to participate and workshops to learn about balinese culture seeing the ducks in the morning in the rice fields and the lotus ponds

the evening menu was not so much choice for vegetarian and expensive it was a little dark at night to see the paths good to have a flashlight

The hotel provided all the amenities and experiences you can expect from a resort, such as a restaurant and a cafe, a spa, two pools and various workshops (e.g. wood carving, silver jewellery crafting, etc.). The resort has a water stream, rice fields, local vegetation and fauna, and Balinese statues and decorations. The resort was 15 minutes from the Monkey Forest and around 25 minutes from the centre of Ubud on foot - plenty of shops on the way to both places, so it was an enjoyable walk.

I stayed for a week, so I would have appreciated more food variety for breakfast.

From the moment we checked in we loved everything about Arma Resort and Museum. The staff are extremely friendly, even the owner who you may inconspicuously bump into somewhere on the grounds, he was SO FRIENDLY! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Even just engaging in conversations with them was awesome. Our room was an oasis, we got exactly what we wanted with our stay. We never really heard any other visitors unless they happen to be loud, which no one was. I loved that we could walk around the grounds and open-air museum. I took advantage of a massage at the spa and it was wonderful. The masseuse was accommodating and incredibly sweet, I just feel bad I never went back to get some aloe vera from her as we were busy that last day ( I had a bad sunburn) The pool was conveniently located next to the spa so you could just lounge in that area. I loved that artists were on-site at the museum portion. You can stop and have a chat with a few of them. The hotel can set up wood carving, dancing classes, and small tours upon request. You'll have a sheet with all that information in the hotel room. We were able to catch two dances while there, Legong and Kecak dances. It felt like we were immersed in another world! The breakfast was great, it was a little bit of Indonesian food and then western food but they catered to everyone. All in all, I would come back here, and I would refer our friends to this destination. It's a great learning environment, I love that we were assisting the Arma Foundation with our stay and assisting in keeping Balinese culture alive. It made the stay that much better!

We liked the peaceful surroundings, a retreat from the business of being out and about in Bali. We liked the thoughtful plantings, the museum, the cafe with access to a library with many books about aspects of Bali which we found informative reading. We appreciated the friendliness of the staff - even the gardeners said hello. We also appreciated the evening program and thought the program with the Balinese dancers was excellent. We also thought the food offered at the restaurant was very good with plenty of variety of choices for breakfast.

The King size bed was in fact two single beds together and where they joined was lumpy and a little uncomfortable.

Lovely traditional hotel, living the culture of Bali, mixed with modern design but keeping the Balinese style. The rooms are facilitated with love to details. My room supplied more than shower gel, like tooth brush and tooth past, racer, cotton pads and the like. There is a bottle opener built in to the wall. The shower in my room was separate to the WC. The set up and decoration of the room was made with love for arts. There was lots of space for storage, even a place for the kettle and cups inside the draw. The balcony overlooks the very nice pool and the lovely garden that is right next to the rice field and paths for walking through the resorts wider areal. I just loved it. Who loves culture, music and nature will most likely be at the right place here. The museum is enclosed. The resort was holding a Charity Live Music Concert at their open stage which was well organised and received. I also tried the hotels cuisine, excellent. I felt a professional handling and customer service of old school which I very much appreciated.

There is nothing.

This is a hidden gem, a magical oasis of serenity and Balinese beauty. Everything about our stay here was so special. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious, the grounds and rice fields are spectacular, the rooms are private and well spaced from each other, the staff is kind, friendly, professional. We also went to a Kecak Performance on the grounds of Arma Resort, which included a Balinese buffet dinner and live music.....it was a very special evening, I recommend it! We would have loved to stay more than 4 nights, this resort is perfect in every way.

Nothing.

Stunning grounds with lush greenery and peaceful nooks and crannies. Lovely staff who were very helpful. Our private villa was delightful, with plenty of space and a wonderful pool.

Breakfast would have been improved by including proper coffee in the price, not just lukewarm brewed coffee, and if the juices weren’t watered down so much. Table clothes were dirty too. Although under the covered and enclosed back patio area, the toilet in the private villa is situated outside, which might not suit everyone. The resort has quite a few steps which again might not suit everyone.

Where to start? Staying at Arma Resort made us feel like royals! The room (Suite Pool Villa) was so much bigger and more than we expected, a true palace. The outdoor area with pool and jacuzzi was just magical! And so much privacy! Everything was kept very clean. Beforehand I was very afraid of lots of bugs, because it's right in the jungle, but except for some ants (outside) I have not seen a single insect (bonus points)! The staff is the kindest we've ever experienced. From reception and breakfast to massage and housekeeping, every single person at the resort is there to make it our best stay ever - and they managed! The resort itself is so beautiful with lots of tropical trees, a river, lots of fountains and ponds, and surrounded by rice fields. There are some steps but we brought a stroller for our baby and staying at villa 110 it was very doable as this one has least steps to get there. The resort is a short taxi ride away from the city center of Ubud, and there are lots of restaurants just right outside the resort already. Breakfast buffet and dinners exceeded our expectations. With the free room service for villas, it provided a fantastic solution to eat at our magical poolside while our baby was asleep inside the villa. Leaving Arma was tough as we felt right at home, so we're very excited to come back some time!
