I really enjoyed my three-night stay at Hotel Vantt. My room was comfortable, cosy and very clean. I was happy to have a bath tub as well. There was a mosquito screen on the big window. The television was the biggest I’ve ever seen in a hotel room! WiFi worked well. The fridge was very cold and the hairdryer worked fine. The cleaning staff were so nice. They helped me to choose which programme on the washing machine was best for a quick wash. Also they do an excellent job cleaning the room and common areas. It was an extra bonus to have tea, coffee, hot/cold water and sweets. I really liked the fact that there is also bread that you can toast for a quick breakfast. It was easy to arrive and depart as the number 9 bus goes to/from the Asia Culture Centre nearby to Gwangju bus terminal (U Square), taking about 20 minutes. The hotel took care of my bag after check out. Thank you to all the team for a happy stay in Gwangju. Recommended!

A nice renovated hotel, that deserves a lot more stars than only two. The staff is very friendly and exceptionaly accommodating. Room was big and cleaned every day. Bathrobes and slippers available as well as more coat hangers. There is a washing mashine and dryer at disposal for free along with detergent in the basement. And of course there is a snack bar (bottled water, coffee, toast, sweets) in a room next to the reception. Location is close to the subway and there are a lot of bars and restaurants in a walking distance. At the check-out you even get a vitamin drink. Would definitely stay there again - good value for money!

One of the best hotels I've stayed in, in Korea - exceptional value for money and certainly deserves more than two stars. It was in a perfect location, the staff were unbelievably kind and helpful, plus the little communal area near reception was open early morning, well stocked with free things to eat and drink till late evening. The whole hotel smelled nice all the time and I don't think I've ever been in a budget hotel that changed the bed linen, towels every single day. It was a pleasure staying here and I certainly will stay here again. Highly recommended.

When just checking the hotel the staff offered to carry my luggage into the hotel. The check in went fast and the main information got even pointed out with a written sign in English. The staff even welcomed me every day with an English phrase. The room was big enough and had even charging cables as well as a wireless charger and cleaning amenities. Even while staying at Downtown it was calm during the night.

Due to rain the floors in the hotel were totally slippery and in the room and bathroom it was just a general thing when wearing socks. But with the offered slippers it was better.

Ever since I found this place last year (summer 2022), I decided that I would always return here if traveling to Gwangju. The location is superb, on a quiet side road in between a young, hopping food/cafe/shopping district and the stately ACC plaza with the iconic fountain and Mudeungsan presiding over it in the background. Geumnamro, the street that remembers the 1980 democratic struggle, mainlines into this area, as do all the buses and the #1 (green) subway line. It's a 30-minute walk along Gwangju River to Yangdong Market. Walk across the river and you'll run into sweet, historic Yangnim-dong with its cafes, missionary hill, and Sajik-gil row of live acoustic music joints...and observatory up in Sajik Park where you can see amazing sunsets. As for the facilities themselves, they are spotless and well-serviced, with large windows that are somehow nice even if they look out at delapidated concrete building sides. There's limitless, 24-hour coffee, toast, and water in the lobby and completely free laundry (washer AND dryer) with detergent provided in the basement. I'd be curious to see if there's any better all-around value anywhere else.

There's nothing I didn't like about this place - please treat it like home if you go.

The hotel, although tucked in a quiet lane, has a great location. It is just a stone's through away from cultural sites like the Democracy Square and the Jeongil Building. It is also just around the corner from a large selection of restaurants, cafes and boutiques, making it very convenient for travelers. There is a free laundry service in the basement and the room offers a range of amenities for ex. a massive TV and a dry-cleaning closet. Everything was spotless. The day-receptionist was very friendly and sweet and allowed us to check-in early.

Rooms were rather small. The toilet could be repaired and would be more convenient if the shower had a separate cubicle to prevent the bathroom from flooding while taking a shower.

Hotel Vannt in Gwanju was a real surprise. We only stayed one night, so we did not have much expectations and yet we were so impressed by the high tech available in the room. Clothe dryer and gigantic gigantic tv screen ( not that we used it..) amongst other things. Super clean too :) The pillows were the only drawback, a bit too high for me. It is well located near art center and culinary area with its many bars and restaurants (Minsokchon is highly recommended). There is a car park facility on site, 24h fresh coffee bean and toast downstairs and a very fast bandwidth connection.

Near to Asia Culture Center (ACC) station. About 5 minutes walk from Asia Culture Center (ACC) station and 5 minutes walk from Gwangju Chungjangro road. Convenient store is just around the corner. Easily accessible for people with luggages via flat road. Do not have to carry luggages up any staircases / uphill slopes along the way. The room is new and clean and the room space is decent. Our room is at the third floor with lift access. Wifi is provided. Bed is comfy. We managed to store our luggages before the early check in at 12pm. The price shown on booking.com is 138,600KRW but we paid 140,000KRW at the hotel. Not too sure what is that for (we did not asked), but I’m ok with it as I am very happy and satisfied with the hotel overall. The staff can speak basic English and he is very friendly. I am surprised that he remembered my name on the second day and asked if I need my room to be cleaned up before I went out. Overall recommended.

Clean and modern, with loads of conveniences in the room and a huge TV that you can login to Netflix on. Good location, right by lots of nice areas and the subway station (3-5 min walk). Free coffee and toast and sweets downstairs. I only encountered one staff member but he was awesome, let me check in early, helped me with my washing and gave me a vitamin drink when I checked out.

1. Room was spacious, clean, modern (minimalist style). I was very surprised and pleased. Well equipped (a plus is a super huge tv beside the bed which was surprising). The hotel is located near ACC along some small road that looks abit rough, but once you step in you will realise that it is quite modern and new. 2. I was allowed to check in early. 3. Short walk from ACC train station. 4. Laundry facilities were provided. 5. Overall seems to be an underrated place. For those who do not mind not staying near more central locations like near the city hall etc, do give this place a try (given it is still relatively near to a train station and many busstops) 6. There isnt much english spoken or written in the city hence I appreciate the patience shown by the staff if I haf any queries.

1. It gets abit quiet (that may be a plus) but I felt overall safe. 2. Location is near a train station but abit far from the center of the city (geographically). It is near the youth street (the more happening part of the city) though. 3. Cleaning of rooms daily is not automatic. You have to let the reception know if you want your room cleaned.
