The very first thing that you like about this hotel is the settings. It's feels like staying in a private house/mansion with elaborate design, filled with artwork and unexpected corners and areas to lounge. The layout of the hotel makes your stay very unique. The patio by the entrance has a very charming atmosphere. It is a very unique stay in the middle of nowhere, considering the neighborhood where it's located. You would need to drive or take a taxi to any attraction in the city from the hotel. There are couple of groceries within walking distance and a decent restaurant on the same block, otherwise it's a low kew residential with nothing particular to see outside the hotel. The breakfast is very decent and is made to your order out of selection in the menu, however I wish there was more variety - during few days it becomes boring. Staff is accommodating and friendly.

Shower heads are horrible. Considering overall pleasant experience in this hotel I wonder why they can't fix the shower heads! Mine was clogged and spraying all over the place with no way to adjust it. you have to wait for the water to heat up. There is a safe in the room but it was not attached to the wall, so kind of pointless, and it was too small for my 15 inch laptop.

Good value. Big breakfast cooked to order. Ubers found it easily. Helpful friendly staff. Provided tour information. Felt safe. Hot water in shower and hand sink. Small grocery store 1.25 blocks away.

Lots of stairs. We chose to be in a lower level room due to mobility issues ( ages 70+). Our room was fine. We didn’t really stay in it that much …as we were out and about during the day. But if we were more agile… I would have liked an upstairs room … as they have more natural light. The hotel needs a small elevator. Anyone needing a cane or walker should not select this hotel.

It’s quirky, it’s different, it’s unique, it’s charismatic, it’s very comfortable, clean, with incredibly friendly staff and great breakfasts! Be prepared to go up & down stairs to get to your room…there’s no elevators, however this is part of its charm!

We booked the Junior Suite on the understanding that the lounge/kitchen area was solely for us! There was nothing to state otherwise in any of the information online, in the booking etc! However, another family had use of the same lounge/kitchen area too for one night, nearly caught my husband in his “altogethers”! So don’t think that when you book the Junior Suite….all of its just for you!

Beautiful hotel, nicely designed and decorated. The hotel has so much character! Check in was easy, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Parking is secured by a gate down the street from the hotel (next block over and across the street).

There are a lot of steps up and down in this hotel, so you will need to carry your luggage through the maze of stairways. There is a bellman who assisted us on our two separate stays when we checked in. We carried our own bags when we left. There is an elevator but we did not see it being used. Be sure to ask about this if you have trouble with stairs. And bring tip money for the bellman because he earns it!

The staff was the best part of my stay. They were very kind, helpful, and wanted to make sure the guests were comfortable the whole time. The value is great for this charming B&B. The location is just okay because it is not walkable to many places. You need a car or Uber to get around to places in the area. The rooms were great. There was an issue with the A/C unit in my room so they staff was kind enough to relocate me to another room. Overall, I would stay here again.

The area, but the hotel can't really control that. It gets very loud on the weekends at the place next door, so just be aware of that if you stay here.

If.you love minimalist chic forget it. This is a really quirky hotel with original artwork packing the walls and floors. Super sized room, lovely crisp sheets, charming little bar, gated(though not undercover) parking, quiet area, helpful and charming staffHighly recommended especially if you're tired of cookie cutter hotels.

Crossing the road outside appears daunting (the widest road I've seen in SJ) but actually very few cars using it.

I liked how friendly the staff were. I also liked how the hotel looked, with all the paintings and decorations inside. I liked how many different lounges it had, as if it was a maze. I also liked the breakfast experience, it felt like I was eating breakfast at home.

I think for this hotel to be perfect, it should have a proper gym. There was a room for a gym, however, there were barely any exercising equipments. I wish the gym had an adequate amount of workout equipment.

What a unique and beautiful property. It had that perfect blend of being welcomed into a home but with the professionalism and perks of a hotel. Very helpful staff, incredibly clean. Loved the common areas and all the art. I wish we’d found this place sooner. It isn’t far from things but it’s definitely out of the way. So, that may be something to consider.

The breakfast was absolutely AMAZING!!! I had the eggs benedict. I've never had such good choices. It was perfect. We loved walking around and looking at all the gorgeous artwork. There are many lovely places to sit and relax and some areas had a complete kitchen if you wanted to do your own cooking. Obviously, this hotel was built with love.

The only thing that could be better was the TV reception.

Very nice on the inside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a nice size with comfortable beds and good lighting. Included was a cooked to order breakfast that was delicious. The price was fair, too.

The neighborhood is not great. There are several up and down stairways to access the rooms. The parking lot was secured with a rolling gate, but it was across a pretty big street.
