yummy my favorite is the granola. The country vibe is relaxed and perfect
A complimentary cup of coffee at the inn or a make it yourself cup of coffee machine in the room or common areas (sitting rooms)

You cannot beat the atmosphere at the inn. The food was extraordinary and staff attentive.
Mattresses were not good and the rooms were awfully hot and not adjustable to heat

Very cool old building. Beautiful area, clean and quiet. Close to Tanglewood and other Berkshire places. Great breakfast provided at a place a mile or so away. After initial meeting the staff was helpful and friendly.
Although furniture kept with the period of the house nicely, the mattresses were older and not super comfortable the couch was worn, etc. it would be good for them to put on their website that if you are staying there you need to make a reservation for dinner if you want to eat there. It was fine for us, and lovely because historic and charming, but if you are challenged with mobility it would not be a good place to stay as stairs were steep and floors were not level.

-Breakfast was good! Southfield Store employees were lovely and friendly, good food! -For all my complaints, the room itself was fine, comfortable, and I did enjoy the access to the upper porch. The process to check in/get support from staff just needs structure for guests.
-I stayed in the inn/restaurant building--I was really thrown off by the lack of a front desk/separation from the dining part of the business. (ex: I could hear forks and knives and plates being shuffled around from my bathroom). I'm also not sure how nighttime guest access works--do they just not lock the front door? There isn't a guest "key" specifically for that door. Again, another mystery. -No stated method of checking out--in the end, I just left and hoped that was the right move. There is no staff in the inn in the mornings, at the very least. Having the process (or that there is no process!) listed on their website (Booking.com or otherwise) would be a helpful resource. -The lack of dedicated front desk services prevented me from being able to ask for recommendations in the area for dinner (the restaurant's dinners are $85 three-course). I ended up driving back to the town I was visiting to get dinner, about 20 min away. Beautiful area, but not much around. -The wifi was pretty terrible--cutting in and out. It's unsecured, so a bit of a data security risk. Honestly, this would have made the stay much better, as I would have been able to actually access the Inn's website consistently and answer some of my own questions.

The restaurant had a prix fixe three-course dinner, I thought expensive at $85, but the gourmet food was absolutely superb and worth it. Service was excellent.
The bed and couch were very old and creaky. The shower was entirely of very old wood, and the stairs up to the second floor were extremely steep--which is typical of old houses, but people with mobility issues shouldn't attempt it.

Breakfast was great at the Greenfield Store. Delicious offerings, really good coffee, fun and cozy environment. Probably the highlight of the stay. The Inn itself is beautiful and charming with a great deal of character. The decor is beautiful and you feel like you are stepping back in time in many ways - we enjoyed the historic aspect of the Inn which was originally built in 1760. It's location is isolated and quaint, but still close enough to Great Barrington, Lee, and Lenox to have access to shopping, great food. Restaurant for dinner is very good, though expensive. There are also beautiful hikes and trails in the area, including a couple that don't require you to get in a car.
The Inn itself has no amenities - we didn't see anyone who works there unless it's a night when the restaurant is open. If you want the basics like a cup of coffee, or a bottle of water, etc - there are no coffee makers or espresso machines to be found or even a vending machine for water. If you want a drink, you have to order from the restaurant which is closed on Mon and Tues night. You pretty much have to pack everything in that you may need or go out and buy it somewhere. There are no refrigerators to store your food - which when there is no access to food elsehwere on the site is an inconvenience. The mattress was old and uncomfortable. The heat was very difficult to balance in the room - which is not surprising given the radiator based heating in an old building, but still not ideal.

This property might be better during peak season but showing up off-season there were no real amenities available in the inn itself. There was a full bar and evidence of dinner service but nothing was available during our stay. Breakfast was included but was over a mile away at a small country store. The store was cool and the food there good but it would have been good to know that when we booked. I would not book this property again off season.
