The location was perfect for us as we are not beach people. Our room looked out over the big plaza and was perfect for viewing the NYE fireworks. The hotel is very pretty on the outside. The pool and sundeck were very nice. All of the staff were pleasant and nice. The bed was very comfortable. Access to walled city and Getsemane was perfect. Easy to get a taxi to go to the beach areas.

Unfortunately, the hot water in shower was sporadic. The breakfast was very basic. The room could use a little paint touch up on walls and wardrobe.

Location is honestly one of the best possible in Cartagena. From the rooftop terrace in the morning, you can watch the morning sun illuminate the clock tower across the plaza, which gave me my best picture of the trip. Everything in the historic city (and the San Felipe Castle) are 15 minutes by foot or less. Breakfast is in the courtyard which is very nice in the morning. The large fans appeared to keep away any insects without drowning out the early morning birdsong. The fruit is fresh every day and alternates, probably based on what is locally available. The staff tried to teach me the Spanish names of the more exotic fruit, and as nice as they are, language learning appears to not be one of my strong points.

The room facilities are rather spartan. It does have everything you need to be comfortable, but this is a hotel that you sleep in, rather than spend the day in. If you are expecting a 5-star resort with a gym, multiple restaurants, and private jacuzzis in every room, this is not your hotel.

This hotel is soooo well located!!! A few minutes from Old town and a block away from Getsemaní. This hotel is super nice!

Nothing to do with the Hotel but be aware in Old town. I for my necklaces ripped of from my neck… We felt more nervous and less in security. We are a couple that love walking and we felt less at ease to do it and often the only tourist walking around… As for the hotel nothing to say that we didn’t like. After the robbery we came back to our hotel and played chess. We wish the rooftop stayed open later and to bring the chessboard to our room.

I stayed at this hotel a few years ago, same great service. Old beautiful building, in my opinion the best view of the old town, across the ClockTower. The roof-bar and piscina area is the best place to contemplate the sunset. Don't expect brand new rooms/bathroom as the hotel has been running for over 50 years, but everything is spotless and very well maintained. Christian, Angel, Wilmer, and all staff members were above and beyond to make our stay better than we expected. Great job!

I fell in love with this hotel - it's a beautiful old colonial building very tastefully decorated with a lovely small pool, clean spacious sun lounging area and bar/eating area on the rooftop that overlooks the surrounding area. I had a lovely large room with original features looking out onto a lovely patio. Modern bathroom with large shower (no bath). Effective air conditioning as well as a ceiling fan. Only 30 rooms makes it intimate and very friendly Lovely breakfast - fresh in a beautiful patio setting. Staff are so lovely and friendly. The hotel is located just across from the old town looking at the Clock Tower and beside the park - seconds from one of the hop-on-hop-off bus stops. Lots of food & drink options just around the corner. Would highly recommend it and when the construction works next door (new hotel and retail area) are completed the immediate area will be enhanced.

Loved everything about this hotel! There are construction works happening next door but it didn't bother me in the least and indeed when finished will very much enhance the immediate area so will be a big plus for this hotel into the future/

Room was large and very comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Location was perfect, right in the middle of everything.

There is a construction going on just beside the hotel, so when you use the pool there are a lot of workers there looking at you, so it is a bit uncomfortable. Breakfast could improve and vary more.

Fantastic roof top terrace, pool and bar with a great view over the old town and square. Super location between old town and Getsemani. Friendly and accommodating staff. Beautiful old colonial style building. And: the best shower we had in Colombia!

Good location very close to the walled city, 60 second walk away. Nice views over the walled city and Marina. The wifi was decent. The pool area is perfect, nice water temp and comfortable beds, but the bar is almost never staffed. The room was clean and spacious and they brought us some Prosecco for a special occasion which was nice. They also kept our bags whilst we travelled for a few days.

We stayed on independence day so it was very loud on the street, the location is ventral but that can come with noise. The rooftop bar wasn’t staffed so we couldn’t get a drink when we were up there.

This place was amazing! We just had a standard room and they upgraded us to a beautiful, sky hight ceilings with a balcony over looking Cartagena old town. The staff were great, they spoke great english, the rooftop patio and pool were incredible, the park right next door has monkeys and sloths and big igunas!! Breakfast was a full spread, can't say enough good things about this place!

We loved this hotel! It is right in the centre of Cartagena so walking distance to all the main sights and restaurants/bars. The rooms were lovely and so were the staff.

Unfortunately the hotel is next to a bar and our room backed onto it. The noise was very loud until late in the night so ear plugs are a must. I do recommend looking past this though as there are other rooms that do not back onto the bar and you get used to the noise. The hotel is still worth staying at.
