Great location near the train station, buses and the tramway, plenty of shops and supermarkets around ; very clean guesthouse, cozy room with aircond ; very kind and flexible staff ; free tickets for coffee ; great café space with working space ; good wifi.

No elevator, place near a karaoke, the windows in my room were not enough insulated so I could hear people singing (very badly...) until midnight ; very small kitchen with no cooking equipment (except microwave oven), working spaces in the café are good but the music is always on (but soft) and the place could be noisy during the day, also it close at 8 p.m.

Location: very close to Kagoshimachuo train station (Shinkansen trains stop there) - it takes a few minutes by walk to get there, mostly under the roof so it is not a problem to get there even with a suitcase; a lot of restaurants near by. There is an almost entire floor exclusively for women. I got welcoming gift: coupons to be used in the caffe. In my private room were 2 chairs and 2 tables what was very convenient.

Short check-in period: check-in window is very short. No elevator inside the building.

This was a revisit and I enjoyed my stay. 1st visit I was 2 years ago, that time I stayed in Japanese room dormitory which easily get disturbed if someone turn on the light, this time was better as I stayed in a double deck dorm and they had curtain. They let me decide to have lower berth, and the room and location is quite.

Great location near the train station. The private room was very nice. There is a short checkin window but they make sure you have all the information to enter through the back door. There is a cafe attached which is only open set hours but has good food.

No towel in the private room. I didn’t sleep since you hear everything and someone was up till 3am banging doors, in the kitchen and showering. Possibly I had the worst room next to the kitchen and across from the bathroom, I heard everything even the toilet and the slamming door woke me out of a deep sleep twice. Maybe it would have been better on the 3rd floor where the female toilet and showers are and the rooms. And the bedroom door window lets all the light in from the hallway so the room never gets dark. I tried to cover it. Eye shade and ear plugs are a must here.

Checked in March 29, 2022 (stayed for 2nights). Guesthouse Banvina is about 5-6minutes walk from Kagoshima-Chuo station (along Bell street). Room in the 3rd floor (Ladies area only) and occupied room 303. There are 4 bunk beds and I am the only one occupying the room. There is small desk and chair, small mirror and standing lights in the room. Room is clean and have humidifier, ceiling lights and personal lights on the lowest bunk, also with divider curtains. There are 2 showers and one toilet. There is small kitchen with refrigerator, small toaster oven, sink and cutleries (plates, etc). Ground floor is a cafe (no cakes only custard pudding or purin and ice cream), was given 2 free vouchers for coffee. Young girl at reception explained fully how to activate the remote lock (outside and the room itself) and house rules. Since first time to come to Kagoshima the young girl at front desk was very helpful to answer questions for sightseeing and other tips.

However downside is there is no elevator and had to carry luggage up to the 3rd floor climbing the stairs. Check in on the way up front staff girl was good enough to carry my luggage. Had to leave early (before 5am) and no check out required had to carry luggage (now heavy with souveniers bought) down three flights of stairs quietly.

The Hostel was down a walking street close to Kagoshimachuo station. It was quiet when I stayed and I had a four bunk dorm to myself. The common room had a fridge and kettle and there was a coffee shop downstairs. When the coffeee shop was open they were able to look after my luggage.

Reception hours are limited so you need to be careful to have the security codes do you don't get locked out,

Location is great; it's right in the centre of where everything is happening. It's about a 5 minute walk to the train station and close to places like Yataimura. It's also a cool café during the day, and you're given a drink token for each day you stay there (although you can only use them when the café is open, which is 11-8). Dorms have privacy curtains and there's a small communal area. The staff gave an explanation of the hostel when checking in. Girls have the option for a Japanese style tatami room, which was very spacious. Boys dorm was a typical hostel dorm with bunk beds but a good storage area.

Girls showers are only split by screens and curtains, and is quite cramped. If you are uncomfortable being naked around others, you may feel awkward having to pass by the other showers. As a note, the boys shower rooms are standard Japanese private shower rooms. No free towels.

Great location! Great service! The room and public space are super clean!

Just a bit pity that I have to be out of the hostel between 11am to 4pm for cleaning even if I book single room for continuous nights, it would be nice if I could stay in the room. Besides this rule everything is just great!

It was much first time in a guesthouse and i really liked it, everything was organized and clean,

The only thing that I didn’t like was shower waterheater takes to much time to warm up, but its okay, just wait about 10min and it will be warm enough to have a shower

very good location, ~300m from Kagoshima Chuo Station. Staff is very friendly. Everything is clean and tidy. If you arrive late, you can check in by yourself. Staff can email you the password for the back door.

seems no bath towel provided, you have to bring your own. There is a ktv nearby, may be noisy before 11pm.
