Convenient location, quiet, spacious, equipped, lovely staff, great view. We were taken care of daily and it felt like a home away from home. Plaka is also one of our most favorite beaches in Crete. Thank you to our host Manolis who is a pleasure to get to know. The little cafe in front is a nice space for breakfast and lunch or to work in shade or sun. You can walk everywhere or drive or take the bus to nearby Elounda or Agios Nikolaos. It is often very windy but the beach is protected from the wind so it is never choppy. You can slip out of bed and stroll down to the beach anytime. We stayed for two weeks and had everything we needed. If it is not there, just ask and you shall have it.

Leaving is hard!

Our second stay at Athina Villas and just as good second time round... Emmanouil the owner is an incredibly nice guy and nothing is too much trouble for him. Lovely seeing him again. The accommodation is super comfortable, perfectly positioned within plaka and outstanding value for money. Plaka is a relaxed hamlet with only a handful of traditional tavernas (all offering outstanding food), a few shops and a nice beach with plenty sunloungers. Everything is a stones throw from this accomodation. For a relaxing break away from hustle and bustle look no further than Emmanouil's Athina Villas! Although the cafe at the front wasn't yet open during our stay as we stayed "preseason", I can confirm from our last visit it's a lovely spot to sit in the shade and have a drink or two (it opens 1st May FYI). Can't recommend this location enough... we'll be back.

Nothing- perfect stay.

A great choice for those who prefer a more casual hotel experience. The room is equipped with everything you need. Emmanouil, the host, is very sweet and accommodating. Situated in the charming village of Plaka, just across from the water, the hotel is within easy walking distance of tavernas and Plaka beach. The tranquil bay offers calm waters, ideal for a relaxing swim. Additionally, there is a minimarket next door, an ATM machine, and cute souvenir stores. We had a great time!

The AC didn't work initially, but Emmanouil promptly provided us with another room

The staff were excellent & very attentive. Even though we arrived late at night, our flight having been delayed, our host met us & welcomed us to the property. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice. The location was also very good, just across the road from the sea & close to bus stop & taxi stop. Great local restaurants & bars. Everyone was very friendly & welcoming.

For the price, everything was great. There are no negatives.

We had a fantastic stay in this traditional apartment. The highlight was our host Manolis. Such a lovely person with great recommendations for the area. The apartment itself was cleaned regularly, it was spacious with a great balcony and sea views. AirCon in the room was great to keep cool at night. Nice little cafe connected to the property. Plaka is a nice and relaxing place to stay.

Perfect setting, surrounded by brilliant Restaurants and the spectacular sighting of Spinalonga directly in our view. Dedicated Host was most welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.for him. Highly recommended

Location was perfect. Balcony view exceeded expectations. Host very helpful and kind and food we ordered in the evening and for breakfast was great.

Nothing. It was perfect for our 1 night stay in Plaka.

Charming host , comfortable bed, good WiFi and efficient air-con . Manolis , the host ,runs the associated café where we had an excellent breakfast and lunch . Free parking nearby . Short walk to Spinalonga boat trips . 200 metres to Plaka beach which has the clearest water. Thoroughly recommend “Maria’s “ restaurant to eat at .

We needed more storage and hooks to hang jackets . Nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom.

The location was ideal for tavernas, supermarkets and access to the sea. The room was small but clean. Cooking facilities were limited but plenty of eating places. Manolis was a friendly host and made you feel welcome and that made for a relaxing few days. The shady tree by his cafe was a joy to sit under.

The only thing we didn't like was the grubby chopping board which needs replacing.

The owners were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Well equipped villa opposite the beach. Lovely cafe adjoining the villas with a discount for residents.
