It is right in the middle of the island where everything can be reached nicely within like one hour by car. To get there you need a car I would say. We never had issues with parking there is parking right there which is free 19-9am. We always left before those times so we never paid and we always found a spot. There is a street and a football field in front of the accommodation but it did not bother us. If u think it’s a bit loud close to windows or use earplugs. The only thing was the shower which did not have a glass door or courtain all the way through so if you put the water on completely everything gets wet but it was still nice and if u don’t put it on full power it’s all good. We enjoyed our stay. The staff came to clean every day except for Sunday which is amazing.

Exceptionally clean, large space, balcony, friendly and lovely staff, good communication with renters (we asked for twin beds but got double, upon letting them know about it, they rapidly fixed it). It was quiet in and around the building, ample windows to let the breeze in, good water pressure and ample hot water. Super close to the center. It wasn't difficult to find parking in the street above in late May (paid, but we were out and about most days so it turned out quite cheap for us). The lighting could be a little softer but it can be adjusted by lighting up lamps and creating ambient lighting from the next room. The beds have spring mattresses which can be a bit uncomfortable for very sensitive people. They didn't bother me, and my friend fixed it by laying on top of some spare blankets (which there were plenty of!). It can be improved with a foam top mattress, but it is not a big deal. All in all a wonderful experience and I would gladly stay here again! 😊

We were looking for a stay around the middle of an island, so it is not far to reach the corners of the island, so Vale Mar has delivered this. It is positioned in a calm and nice town, which we enjoyed. The bed was comfortable and both of us had a set of 3 pillows with different stiffness to choose from, which is great. It had a mini-kitchen, so it was good for basic cooking.

There were a few things: there was an odd smell in the room to begin with, and while we aired the room well, the freshly brought towels had the same smell. Secondly, it is in front of a football stadium, so they may be practising loudly until 9 or 10 pm, but this is not heard very well if the windows are closed. It would be nice (not a must) to have a chopping board, a better knife, and some kitchen essential items like salt, oil, etc. in the room.

The apartment and common areas were very clean and nothing major negative to point out. The location is great and 5 min walk to the beach and promenade restaurants. Continente super market close by. However as many of the other reviews noted-the property in general is dated and equipped to the very basic.It is great for a day or two stopover,but would not book it to spend an entire longer holiday there.

There were few missing little things that can make the place homey and welcoming.No bottle opener, we had to mix our salad in a cooking pan as there was no salad bowl. There were no tea larger mugs,just couple of very small cups (for large espresso).Shower head was old and damaged and was sprinkling water everywhere including flying out of the bath pooling onto the floor,the kitchen drawers were not opening properly.

Great location for hiking trips around the island as it is located in the central part of the island. Overall the accommodation was pretty nice. What we liked most were the outdoor terraces - great for e.g. doing yoga or having a chill time with friends.

What was not very pleasant was the parking, the accommodation does not have its own parking spaces, therefore finding a free space took us quite some time. The mattress would be worth getting replaced in the near future (my friend had a back ache). One minus also for no sockets at the bed.

Simple accomodation in a small non touristy town. It is very close to the center and the beach. We were lucky to find the parking on the street nearby. It was free after 7PM. The building has an elevator and two large shared terraces. We booked a Junior suite for one night. It had a comfy bed, small kitchenette with basic utensils, table for two and TV. Room and private bathroom were clean. We also had a balcony with the town view. We had a nice evening walk to the center and the promenade. There are also good grocery stores in the center. The area was very quiet.

No dishtowel in the kitchenette.

The location was in center of Ribera Brava , just 5-6 minute walk to beach and the town center. It had bus connectivity to Funchal also. The room was daily cleaned. View from the room was also perfect with a slight glimpse of sea. Free Parking for Car and Scooter was just also round the corner , also there were numerous paid parking. Kitchen also had everything to cook , though a bit congested.

Kitchen can be organized better.

We had the opportunity to stay at this hotel located in the beautiful mountains and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel does not have a reception, but self-check-in is very well organized. One of the advantages of this hotel is its location. You will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains from your personal balcony, as well as enjoy the natural beauty around. The hotel kitchen is equipped with the necessary utensils so that you can prepare your own meals if you wish. A large room and a good bathroom add comfort to your stay. It was especially pleasant to spend time on the balcony, enjoying the fresh air and the view of the mountains. Overall, this hotel has its pros and cons, but if you're looking for a place with a great location in the mountains and are willing to sacrifice some amenities, this could be a good option for your holiday.

There are a few downsides worth noting. The hotel is located near the main road and it can be very noisy at night, which can disturb your peace. It should also be taken into account that the hotel is not equipped with air conditioning, and in the hot season it can be inconvenient.

Big size room with a bedroom, dining area and a small kitchen. The bathroom was big and clean. There was even a fridge in the room. The wifi was a decent speed. There was no parking for the apartment but just outside there were places where we could park and it was free parking on Sat and Sun. The beach and the shops were about 10 min walk.

The room had direct sun during the day so despite the dark curtains it became quite hot inside and there was no ac or fan.

Arrived and used the codes to enter the building. The building was very clean and tidy. The room was fab, the views were fab through the two windows. Looking over the town and out to sea. One of the windows had a small veranda to sit on. We were very close to numerous eateries, bars, shops and supermarkets. Also some great walks by the sea and if you wanted toward the next two towns to the west using vehicle tunnels with walk ways at the side. The apartment was fab, bed was very comfy, and we used the cooking facilities. Also had a fridge, great for our four days, the front of Riviera Brava was great. Sitting watching the waves. Weather was around 20-21 each day. Walked to Ponta do Sol one day and returned the higher route, great views from the hills.

We liked everything.
