It's an amazing place, I really liked my room, it was so comfortable and cozy! It's also great to have a sink in the room. Everything was clean and 'made with love'. The host lady is very friendly, and the breakfasts were great. Everything was really nice, I would definitely go back!

At first I booked the room for 1 night and then wanted to extend my stay. It was impossible to do on the app, as well as book one day on Booking, and I contacted the property. They told me to rebook, as the room was available. I did and asked if I will get waiver for the cancellation, as it seemed pretty logical - I stayed in the same room and just wanted to extend for a day. I did not get the answer and there was no return of that first cancelled booking. I understand that technically I cancelled it myself, so there is nothing to complain about, it just looked a bit shady that I stayed 2 nights at the price of three :) It was my bad not to ask about it while I was there, and maybe there is an explanation, I just would appreciate if this all was a bit more clear.

Great location and just what you need for a stay in Shetland- a good breakfast to start the day and a comfortable room to come back to end of the day to sleep well in prep for the next day of exploring the Shetland Islands. Calum also provided great tips on places to see. Housekeeper was lovely as well, kept the place nice and clean and would chat in the morning.

Sometimes there were noisy people staying but generally that wasn't a problem and outwith control of the hosts, as long as doors were closed and respectful of others it was fine.

Brilliant welcome from the host on arrival off the ferry at 8am, insisted on giving me a free breakfast and coffee which was absolutely lovely of her. Single room with shared bathroom was comfortable, clean, not the biggest but for two nights solo was certainly enough. I would recommend a larger room option if travelling for longer or with a lot of luggage. Breakfast each day was relatively minimal, consisting of good quality cereals, bread for toast, eggs and bacon and a selection of items to order (I never did so can't comment on these). Stored my luggage for me on checkout which was very convenient as couldn't board the ferry until 6pm and didn't want to have tk carry a heavy rucksack all day.

No iron in the room, I could have probably asked for one though and one or two minor issues that are more to do with the age of the building than anything they can control, creaking staircase etc.

The house was very cozy and welcoming. Ida was very nice and accommodating as was Andrew, one of the owners. Both cooked lovely breakfasts and I enjoyed my room there. It was a bit chilly at first, but then had an extra heater which helped. There was a sink in the room which was great, and the bathroom right next door was clean and large. It's an older house with loads of character and was comfortable. There is parking right outside and the location is close to the water. Enjoyed the stay. I left a night early though because of the storm coming and I didn't want to get trapped on the island even though it was a wonderful place.

Nothing really.

I loved my week at Solheim Guest House, exactly what I needed for my vacation. After a sleepless crossing with the ferry, I was lucky that my room was already ready and I could catch up on sleep there right away. The bed was very comfortable, the room was big enough for a single room to walk arund. Everything was very clean and tidy. The breakfast in the morning was extremely tasty, there was a small buffet and you could order extras. The staff were very attentive and always ready to help with tips. The location is ideal, two minutes to the sea, five minutes to downtown, plus two bus stops more or less in front of the door. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Great location, easy parking, warm and comfortable. Spacious en-suite bedroom.

I was not keen on the egg and bacon part of the breakfast as it went a little rubbery being kept warm although the rest of the breakfast was great. There was a little bit of mould around the base of my shower which was a bit offputting and when my room was cleaned, I didn’t get fresh tea cups and they still had tea in from the morning. However, the rest of the room was spotless.

The town of Lewrick is old world and Solheim fit into that atmosphere perfectly. However don’t be fooled into expecting 19th century conditions inside! It has been thoughtfully brought into current times by the family and was a pleasure to stay there. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends.

I had expected, being a guest house, that there’d be a common or reading room. This wasn’t so although we never saw it as a negative. Just something that others should be aware of.

Everything was good. The room was nice, the bed was fine, the bathroom was fine. I had a nice breakfast. The location was convenient for the town centre, and easy to find.

Everywhere was expensive, and £100 for an overnight stay at a B&B is more than I would normally spend. Maybe in high season that could be ok but not in September.

Lovely view from our en suite room on the top floor. The bed was really comfortable. The owners are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great - different styles of egg and porridge could be requested and toast, bacon, fried eggs and wrapped pastries were available at the self-service bar, along with juice and cereal.

For awareness, the en suite is small with a large step into it and a high step into the shower but it was totally satisfactory.

Our host, Caroline, was most helpful and gracious. We missed the fact that a full breakfast, cooked to order was included ao that was an unexpected teat. there are two bus stops less than a block from the guest house which made getting around very easy. Bathroom was small but that was about the only thing that was a problem.

The person (man) I spoke with when we arrived on the ferry could have told us about the bus. We saw later that there was a bus stop right outside the ferry terminal and if we had been given the bus number we could have saved a few pounds getting to the guest house. Instead we had to wait 30 minutes for a taxi that was six pounds for a very short trip.
