We have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the last 12 months and cannot fault it - the bed and the room (no 1 this time, but no 3 previously) were great - comfortable and also a nice temperature to sleep. Breakfast is good too with a excellent choice of options - we travel back to the south west - so the full english or the porridge meant we didnt need to stop off for a "top up". We also ate an evening meal there last visit (christmas menu) and we would highly recommend the dishes. One last thing all the staff all make you feel very welcoming plus are able to give good advice re the local area. Thanks again and look forward to seeing you in the near future.

My husband and I are just writing to say what a lovely warm and friendly welcome you gave us when we arrived with you, and what an enjoyable stay we had despite the sad circumstances. We had a very comfortable stay for the past two nights in room 1. We drove up from Oxford for a funeral. Our room was spotless and the bed was marvelous. You’re the first hotel I’ve stayed in where the safe is at eye level - not practically on the floor as so many are ! We’re so impressed with how well the team worked together in such a professional way dealing with so many people after the funeral. It was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to the lady who helped me set out the photographs and flowers for my late sister in law, in the lounge area-everyone loved it and was drawn to the display. Our evening meals were excellent, nice balanced choices, well presented and I had the best poached eggs for breakfast I’ve ever had! So very well done Loftsome Bridge Hotel. We will definitely be back. Thank you !

Nothing.

Second stay here. Rooms are comfortable- stayed in the main house this time. First time had one of the cottages which I did prefer as there was a sofa to relax on. When travelling all week for work it is nice to have somewhere to sit rather than the bed. Food and staff are great. Love the warm welcome and great value fixed price menu.

All good. Caution to those ordering the omelette for breakfast -although bacon is not mentioned on the menu it was added to mine. If you are veggie make sure you check when ordering

The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was very good. We ate in the restaurant one evening and it was excellent. Plenty of car parking space. Lovely view of open country from our room in the main hotel.

The shower head was not great - little pressure and rather tired. The two single beds were completely different heights - odd! The hotel lacks atmosphere which is surprising for such an old building, no details of its history on show.

Cooked Breakfast - was honestly excellent breakfast! Even the service was friendly and we both felt look after, leaving for morning to visit the Christmas Markets in York city centre, we did not require snack, as the cooked breakfast kept us full for most of the day! We highly Recommend! Our stay here was from 09.12.23 & 10.12.23 - Thank you to you all.

All the staff where friendly & helpful, accommodation clean, all I can say is both my fiancé, has nothing to complain about our stay, We both would highly recommend this Hotel here in, we will visit here again!

Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Good breakfasts & evening meals. Large double room.

Information about booking that we received at the end would have helped to know earlier; we were told that, if the room you want isn't available, phone the hotel direct, as Booking.com just allot the rooms available on their lists - the cottages are newer and a better quality - and have a sofa as well. The walls are very thin in the main building and we were woken at 6am every morning by the next room turning on their taps. The road is right outside the bedroom windows in part of the main building - can get a bit noisy at times.

Convenient location. Good sized room Pleasant surroundings Very pleasant 'lady in charge' at breakfast Straightforward booking g in and out.

We felt that the breakfast was a little disappointing; the 'main' course, eg. the full-English and the smoked salmon, were very good. However, the continental section lacked variety. Our friends noted that there were no pastries and no yoghurt any more.

The greeting was friendly and we were directed to our room. There were tea and coffee facilities and a good view. The room was fine and clean. The basic toiletries were provided via dispensers. Breakfast was good, a nice choice was offered. Mini Danish’s were a nice extra. There was Continental, Full English, Porridge, Fruit. What we had was nicely cooked too. We were there 3 nights so had a good sample. There was plenty of space in the car park. The hotel was in a pretty location, it was not clear where we could walk. You must have a vehicle as this is in a Country location although it is very near to major trunk roads. It is a quiet location.

Be aware that the bedroom floors are quite creaky and you can hear the neighbouring rooms toilets flush. I was only disturbed a little, but I am quite a light sleeper. We had dinner the first night, two courses each and found it to be rather overpriced, the ambition is high, but the result is not there yet. For example, my husband’s triple cooked chips were undercooked in the middle. Very hard to do for triple cooked. The rest of the food was okay, but not high quality. Acceptable if the price was lower. Our bill was also incorrect, an extra bar item. It was removed quickly.

Loftsome Bridge was lovely and it’s recent refurbishment is excellent. It’s in a peaceful location and lived it’s an historic building. The staff were lovely and looked after us so well. The breakfast is really good and good choice available. We also had an evening meal, the quality was great and value for money was exceptional. Would highly recommended and we will certainly make a return visit

Loftsome Bridge was a lovely quiet overnight stay for us on our way to see relatives the room was clean, quite spacious as well as the bathroom and well appointed. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a light meal and drink in the evening and breakfast freshly cooked in the morning. All food was delicious and mostly locally sourced.

Location was a little further from any other village.
