Great location, felt like a safe area, bed was comfortable and enjoyed the choice in the breakfast

On checking in I was asked to give them a card so they could put through a 50 euro sale in case I decided to use the mini bar. I felt this was unnecessary and explained I wouldn't be using the mini bar anyway. I'm addition, I was staying there at the end of my trip and using a card I had put money in to pay in euros. If I allowed them to do this I would have no money for meals for my last day there. This seemed a very old fashioned practice based on the minority of people who might take advantage, but I feel most people are more honest and maybe they should review their policy or have a mini bar that you would need to scan your card to use. After a bit of discussion I was eventually given permission for them not to put through a sale on my card for the 50 euros.

Amazing Hotel, Staff & Location I have just returned from my trip to Paris, staying at the Villa Montparnasse Hotel (June 2024). The hotel itself has a classic and interesting style. I had asked for a city view room in my booking and the staff went out of their way to give me what I wanted. It actually had a double aspect view and was even more spectacular than I had expected – simply fabulous! The whole atmosphere during my stay was very comfortable and all staff without exception (manager, reception, breakfast and cleaning), were welcoming, friendly and ensured I had everything I needed. In addition, the hotel is in a strategic location for metro and airport connections via Denfert-Rochereau, which is very near the hotel. There are also useful shops and restaurant / cafes in the area. I highly recommend this hotel, it was all amazing value for money and I will definitely go back on my next trip. In fact, I am planning it already!

Everything was great!

If you are looking for something simple, easy and accessible this is the place for you (especially if you’re a solo traveler)! The hotel and rooms are definitely way older but I think this is what made it so charming. There are a lot of comments saying they needed more in the breakfast but I thought it was good especially to getting your day started. Neighborhood was quiet, charming and close to all - and walking distant to restaurants. Cherienne (I hope I’m spelling her name correctly) was an absolute angel - so personable and available to requests. Would definitely stay here again!

Friendly, informative, and accommodating staff. We enjoyed our superior room with a city view and balcony.

We liked the traditional decor in our room (that’s one of the reasons we chose Villa Montparnasse - we wanted to the room to feel Parisian, not like a generic hotel room anywhere in the world), but the fixtures could use an upgrade. The bathtub looked a little beat up, was high off the ground, and could be hard for an older or injured person to get in and out of.

I wish we could have stayed longer! Our group had 3 rooms, one junior suite on the 7th floor, and two deluxe doubles on the 5th and 6th floors. The woman who checked us in was delightful, and the hotel's director showed us to our room to explain the light switches. Very well-appointed and beautifully decorated in historical fashion. The elevator was delightful and speedy. Breakfast was included. Hard to beat the location, steps from the Denfert-Rochereau station, with a wonderful market just a block over on Rue DaGuerre. We asked the front desk for dinner recommendations and they made reservations for us at Maison Peret--wonderful evening, and We will stay here again!

The location is really wonderful. It is situated in a very nice area that is quite neat and close to some good restaurants (15 min walk). It is also very close to the metro so getting anywhere is very simple with one or two metro lines. The staff was very helpful with any questions and we really enjoyed our room that had a cute balcony. It was perfect for our stay (which was just two days).

In general, I was happy with everything. Our bathroom was not necessarily state of the art and was a tad worn down, but it still worked properly.

Both the reception and dining room staff were very helpful and polite. The hotel itself is quite cozy and nice, not that noise. The breakfast were perfect for us

Sometimes cleaning service refilled the water, but mostly we were left with an empty bottle. Plus the dust wasn’t wiped off from the nightstands, unfortunately

All the staff were so friendly (and very patient with my attempted french!) Despite having two flights cancelled, there was no problem extending our stay and we even received a discount on extra night. We were made to feel very welcome and we were sad to leave. Location was good - we walked pretty much everywhere but it was very close to the metro. Room was clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony and we discovered that we could even see the Eiffel Tower! (Albeit a glimpse!) Breakfast was basic but plentiful, fresh and delicious. Would recommend and return. Thank you! X

Bathroom needs a little updating but still clean and functional. Besides, the dated decor adds to the charm!

The room was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Location is nice and quiet. The toilet in our bathroom didn’t work properly but it was quickly taken up and we were offered another room.

The bathroom is dated and could be improved. The quality of the bread at breakfast could be better.

I was very happy that I had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday in this beautiful hotel. We had a room on the top floor with 2 balconies and a beautiful view of Paris. Excellent service, very clean room, delicious buffet breakfast, nice comfortable room. It is located next to the metro. A quiet, peaceful area with many cafes and restaurants. We are very grateful to the hotel manager, everything was on top! I will be happy to return to this hotel again!
