I like that this motel hasn't changed much in character since it's inception. A little rougher around the edges and a little worse for wear but functional and a classic. I have stayed at the El Rancho 4 times in the last 7 years and 4 or 5 nights each time, around the beginning of June. Each unit was a single queen size bed. There are various levels of amenities based on room selection. The rooms were spacious enough for my gear and always clean. The beds were comfortable enough for a good nights sleep and the area is fairly quiet. I like the location which makes it convenient and walkable to everything in town. The people working there have always been pleasant and accommodating. Since I was gone early morning until to early evening the basics is all I needed.

The only rather minor inconvenience is the small parking spaces. I wasn't able to park my medium size SUV in the designated space because it was a corner space and could not fit between the two parked cars on either side. The exterior space of the motel could use a little TLC but I know they are working on it. There was what looked like an abandoned/unused car parked there taking up a space, the patio furniture could use an upgrade and some cosmetic improvements would help the aesthetics. This last visit the neon sign was not working or was not turned on. The sign is a great classic neon sign and provides a lot of ambience at night. On the last couple of stays there room service missed a day each stay.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was a good location for walking my dogs. And there was a good bakery right up the street.

The check in process was a little awkward. You have to check in at a different motel and then drive to the El Rancho. Other than that, it was fine.

Location convenient, quiet neighborhood. Cute Mom n Pop motel. A wonderful little motel! Nice BBQ area with a small grassy area and some lounge chairs. Thumbs up!

Could use a little deep cleaning (lower corners in the shower grout) but really a great little motel. Shampoo container was out; no wash cloths.

This is not the ritz but it was clean and everything worked.

Had to pick up keys at another location. The AC was mounted so high on the wall I could not see labels on controls so I had to try all to get it to work.

room is clean and the location is convenience. the staff, though is 1 mile away, is very kind.

you'll need to check-in at another facility about 1 mile away from the motel. wifi is not well in room 8, and my cell phone has no service in this area.

Clean rooms, had everything you needed for a simple stay. Very quiet. Really friendly staff. I accidentally left something of value in the room and they so kindly mailed it to me.

It was conveniently located but off the beaten path. The room was clean with cute and simple decorations. And the bed was comfortable.

The toilet did not flush well. We left a message but didn't hear back from the front desk.

Perfect location...served our needs well as I have stayed here several times over many years... Great location as the best bakery in the area is one block away... Awesome! Room always meets my expectations...

Shower could have been cleaner...

The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioning worked really well. There were a variety of plates, pots and pans, and utensils to use in the kitchen.

I had a problem with the lighting. Apparently the maintenance person didn't have the parts to fix it so he was supposed to come back the next day. I stayed for two nights and the light was not fixed by the time I checked out. The stove was a little small and cramped to cook on but I managed. The kitchen could use a remodel to make better use of the space. There could be a few more shelves or something nearer the stove for spices and such.

We enjoyed the convenience of having a full kitchen to make our meals and a nice BBQ area.
