What’s not to like! The location is perfect. It is a very short stroll from the Molenbrug bridge centrum shuttle stop to the accommodation for your arrival and departure to/from the Brugge train station. The room is charming and a little quirky but quiet, comfortable, and a beautiful, scenic walk to market square and everything old town has to offer. Bruges became our favourite place on our European adventure and Canal central is the place to explore it from. There are plenty of options in every direction for cafes and restaurants and our head was on a swivel as we were taken by Bruges beauty and history on every turn and any direction we looked.

The location was right along the canal and a few blocks from the main belltower. Canal tour boats pass by often during the day. The breakfast was self-serve and self-cleanup at any time. There was an assortment of breads, cheese, yogurt, cereal and milk, tea, and coffee. No real provision for a hot breakfast but more toward the continental breakfast style. The room was comfortable, roomy, and quiet. An attached room had bunk beds, which would be great for a family. There was even a door from the bedroom to an enclosed courtyard.
The shower and toilet shared the same space and it was difficult to keep shower overspray away from the toilet area. It would be nice to have an additional towel for floor cleanup after showering. Perhaps a bathmat would help. Also, Booking.com apparently did not include the city tax at the time we booked. The host contacted us several days before our stay and asked us to pay this tax via a link he provided. That worked, but we were surprised that our credit card company charged us $10 for the "cash advance" for this transaction. I wish we had been warned about this payment link causing an unexpected extra charge.

Location was great - in the centre of Bruges. Bed was large and very comfortable, room was spacious and entrance area was an extra space to sit at a dining table. Everything was very easy, code for the front door and key for our room. Breakfast was basic but included in the price and there was a fridge which we used to keep our sandwiches and fresh milk that we bought locally.
I did not realise that it was an unattended apartment so there were no staff present - this wasn't really a problem, just that I didn't think it was very clear when booking. Also, due to slow connection with roaming data I didn't get the email with the door code till later that evening so I had to call to get in, but host was very friendly and helpful so no big problem. Bathroom didn't have ventilation so the room got quite steamy. Travellers from UK should bring teabags - it's set up for coffee and the only tea on sale locally is Lipton.

Loved the character of the building and the decor, and they location was excellent - free shuttle bus from the train station stops very close by and it's an easy walk along the canal into the centre. Loved the staircase and the little hallway downstairs. Very comfortable space, and we enjoyed the little room downstairs with breakfast provisions.
Very minor but slightly annoying that none of the lamps had globes (bulbs) in. Also, the occupants of the other room that shares the communal space did not wash up their dishes and utensils and there weren't enough spare for us.

We stayed for two nights, which was just right for Bruges. The apartment was ideally situated - open any window and look out on to the canals. There were two or three restaurants just on the opposite bank of the canal, which were nice to look out onto at night but weren't noisy at all. There were only footpaths along the canals so no noise from traffic, and very pleasant to walk along, and only a few minutes to the main squares. We ate breakfast on the roof terrace, and sat out there in the evening. The apartment has a small room on the ground floor where there is a fridge, a selection of cereals, part-baked bread to cook in the air-fryer and tea/coffee/water available, crockery etc, a sink to wash up (though no tea-towel) and trays to take things back to your apartment (though there is a table and chairs if you want to eat there).

I loved everything about canal central. The location was excellent, beautifully located next to the canal with walking distance the main attractions. It was family friendly. Peter is an exceptional host. He was accommodating about all queries and went out of his way to help us and make our stay comfortable. My 7 year old gives a 100/10 for our stay. We were incredibly lucky to be able to find such a gem of a place to stay in Bruges.
There was nothing not to like.

Amazing location. Lovely garden out the back with fishpond. Kids loved the friendly little dog. Room had everything that we needed. Bed was comfy. Huge free-standing bathtub.
The occupants of the second guest room above us were very loud well into the night. Might be worth popping a notice in the rooms about keeping noise levels down after a certain hour. Also just a very small suggestion to loosen the hinges to the swinging barn style doors that go into the bathroom, they’re too tight and not so enjoyable going in and out.

Location is perfect. Easy walk to the town center, close to bus stops to/from the train station. Has good restaurants nearby. We stayed at the family room on the 2nd floor. The canal view from the room is unbeatable. There's a small eating area at the front entrance. The breakfast bar is stocked with coffee, tea, cereal, milk, yogurt, and toasts.
Since it's right next to the canal and restaurants, there might be flies flying around if you keep the windows open. If you're booking the family room, keep in mind that the bathroom is down on the first floor, but the sink for hand washing is up on the 2nd floor. It's a little inconvenient, but not a big issue for us.

The position is beautiful, just over one of Bruges canals. The room was really warm and romantic, with direct access to the common internal garden and a pond with nishiki-koi carps. In the entrance room, you can organize by yourself the breakfast (everything you find in the kitchen is free for use) and also use it for lunch and dinner.
Bathroom was quite peculiar: elegant and old-fashioned, but WC is "separated" by the rest of the room by two "saloon-like" panels, not so comfortable. Impossible not to splash WC when having a shower!

This place is a gem, it is unlike anywhere I've stayed before. Think it may have been a small pub that's been converted. You could easily pass it by. Access to enclosed garden with pond full of carp, inside there was a standalone roll top bath and seperate shower. There were also breakfast foods, such as jams, bread yoghurt etc just as you enter the property which you can use as you wish. The entrance is right beside the canal also and minutes walk from all the tourist spots. If we ever come back we will stay here again!
All good :)
