Beautiful old building in very central location ,staff very friendly Hotel lovely and warm . Very modern large bathroom with an excellent shower.Evening meal very good .Very convenient parking in the hotel itself but unable to pre-book a space so may not get one in the busy season .Very good draft beer in the hotel bar and reasonably priced .Very quiet.

Breakfast just average —— cooked breakfast fine but let down by the poor selection on the self service table beforehand —- when we were there the fruit selection was very much depleted by the time we arrived and wasn’t replenished.

This is the second time I've stayed at the hotel, both stays have been excellent. The staff are friendly, the rooms have everything needed - including non-slip surface in the lovely, modern shower, very important for me. The 'Christmas gift' of Proseccos was welcome - we could start the day with Bucks Fizz!

We would have liked a 'cheaper option' for breakfast - at Christmas we really didn't need an eighteen-pound breakfast (£15 if booked on arrival), a Continental alternative would have been good, or just croissant and coffee. But there are lots of cafés around! Otherwise, all good.

The property is beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable. We had lunch in the restaurant and also breakfast the following morning. We also had drinks in the bar. The hotel is a period property and is full of character. There is a car park which we used (there is a charge but it was very reasonable).

The only issue we had was getting access to some of our rooms. We booked 5 rooms in total and only 1 of them was ready at the check-in time (4pm). The duty manager explained that at lot of the house keeping staff had called in sick but it really was not ideal that some of our party only got there room keys as we were just leaving for our evening meal at 6.30pm. Credit to the hotel, they gave us free breakfast in the morning and were very apologetic. Hopefully this was a bit of a one-off issue as everything else was excellent.

The breakfasts were really good and so were the evening meals that I had. I liked my room was a nice small double and the bathroom was a nice size. One tip though make sure your windows are closed on rubbish day, the bin men are out front at about 6.00 am! and it was noisy! The staff were really pleasant . They were really helpful and if they didn't know the answer to a query they found someone who did. I loved Ludlow and the independent shops especially The Mousetrap cheese shop.

It would have been nice to have a residents lounge to sit in to read, I was disturbed by a man conducting loud conversations on his phone while reading in the bar. I didn't want to stay in my room. My coffee's weren't replenished when my room was serviced and as there was no phone in the room I couldn't contact reception or housekeeping. I did find one of the male waiting staff a little offhand .

The history of the building made it a lovely place to stay . The location was great, right in the centre of the town centre. We booked in for a meal for our wedding anniversary and were given a lovely glass of prosecco on arrival which was lovely.. The staff made us feel very welcome.

The window in our room wouldn't close properly as the catch was broken. There were two large vents on the roof outside (from the kitchen) which were very noisy all night. The toilet seat was loose and slewed over to one side when we sat on it which was disconcerting and dangerous. The above was all reported to staff but nothing was done about it.

Historic building, really quirky. Central location. Very good Sunday roast. Staff friendly and smart. Lady who served us at dinner very pleasant. Sorry forgot her name, but she looked like Debbie Harry from Blondie and had dressed as her at recent 1980s night!

Very limited and cramped carpark which was full when wr arrived. We struggled to find the public carpark using Google maps, but rang and were given good directions. Air conditioning unit outside (from kitchen?)was rather noisy. Breakfast a little pricey and as we were only on a flying visit, we had breakfast elsewhere.

Beautiful historic building Room staff put in extra effort - left a happy birthday message for my partner! Great, central location clean and comfortable Everything we needed in the room We were early and they let us into our room which was fantastic! Thankyou!

Pricing was a bit confusing. Extra for breakfast and parking happens a lot I suppose. Then there was £20 each deducted on arrival, to be reimbursed on exit. Just seemed over complicated and slowed everyone down when we left (I don't usually queue to leave!) Maybe that's what happens at fancy hotels though.. I'm used to more budget establishments!

The room was lovely, furnished to a lovely standard. Some evidence of wear. But clean and fresh. The character and history of the hotel. Staff were friendly at breakfast, and breakfast itself was nice, though a little expensive. The location was great too - the heart of the town.

I think the food service on Sunday evening needs to be considered, perhaps an alternative to the restaurant. As service stopped at 5 or 6 pm, there was no alternative or bar food available. Balcony furniture needs to be looked at / updated or repaired. Only one chair and a table that had seen better days. Some lamps didn't work, neither did the fan that was provided in the wardrobe ( thought this was a good idea and wanted to use, but broke) as rooms get warm. Slept with the patio doors open.

The room was lovely. The period features were good, but the bathroom was up to modern day standards which we appreciated, Tea making facilities and a small table and chairs with enough space were a nice addition. The hotel is very old and there are a lot of stairs to negotiate to your room. Lift only goes to one floor and depending on your room there could be more stairs to negotiate. It is a Grade 1 listed building so this prevents many alterations to allow the building to be preserved.

The hotel restaurant for dinner and breakfast were expensive, The hotel bar didn't stock both drinks we asked for. A lot of restaurants in Ludlow have permenatly closed in recent years and those that are still trading were closed on a Monday night.

All the staff were friendly and accommodating. Checking in was quick and easy. The room had great character. Location was excellent, right in the middle of the town. A great range to choose for breakfast, excellent eggs royal. Fantastic evening menu with a beautiful Sunday roast available at the end of the week. Louise answered all our questions and gave us a great run down of the history of the building.

That we didn't book a few more days :) We will definitely be returning so another visit :)
