Although Best Western is a chain the place felt very much like a family run hotel. Staff were great - very natural and friendly and went above and beyond to be helpful. You could tell there was a good rapport between staff members too - they were working together as a team. All this rubs off on guests, you feel you are being taken care of, and gives the hotel character. A relaxed and comfortable experience.

Although the hotel was very clean and tidy and well-run, the decor and furnishings could do with a bit of a refresh -somewhat 1980s. Nonetheless this didn't detract from the experience.

The staff were lovely and friendly. The room was well-equipped and a good size. Very comfortable for the summer. The room was generally clean, although the sink had been missed. The dining facilities and bar looked good, if a little small. We had to wait for a couple to finish breakfast before a table became available. On the whole, I think I would use it again if we were ever in the area.

The only heating we found was in the bathroom. OK for the summer but could get chilly in the winter. Sink had not been cleaned. Dining room overcrowded.

Staff, room had the initial wow factor until we looked more closely, great place to stay when doing the tough mudder.

Needs a little maintenance in places the radiator surround was broken at the top, the double doors leading to the garden in our room didn't open, and was a little dated, the food we had our starters then once finished waited another 30mins for the main but wasn't really busy and the food was edible wasn't great but we ate it we but we didn't feel need to complain as staff were fantastic

The location was ideal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant facilities were very good. Upon check-out, unfortunately my husband fell over outside of the hotel and suffered bad cuts to his face. Hayley, one of the managers was extremely helpful to us. She personally took us to the Bristol Royal Infirmary A&E where my husband received treatment. We cannot thank Hayley enough for her kindness and support to us. It is very much appreciated.

We were heading towards Castle combe/ Bath and the hotel location was quite convenient for us. Room was large and well lit. Great restaurants at Chipping Sodbury, which is 10 minutes ride from the hotel. Hotel staff very warm and welcoming.

The room was not hoovered well and there was plenty of dust and some little waste under the beds. The kettle was not working oroperly, not switching off when boiling.

Brilliant staff, so helpful and kind. Great food and very comfortable room.

The only thing we found difficult was the fact that to access any information about the hotel one needed to scan something. I and my sister were unable to do this so consequently we turned up late for breakfast on Sunday morning. The staff were very kind and served us a good breakfast, but just a leaflet informing us that breakfast finished at 9am would have been useful.

Such a pretty property. Rural location, lovely and quiet. Room was beautifully decorated. Very comfortable bed and good shower. Really warm, friendly staff who were very helpful. Relaxed, comfortable bar area, then additional restaurant and an orangery which was so pretty. My daughter and I had a fantastic evening meal. Chef Chris is top notch. The chicken on rosti with creamy sauce was visually like a work of art and full of subtle flavours. The beer battered fish and triple cooked chips were so tasty. Definitely not your average pub grub. Would recommend without hesitation and would happily stay again. Plenty of free parking too!

The hotel is very convenient for the M4 motorway and for the location for my work the following day. There is free on site parking (don't use the first entrance from the motorway direction as this is for the pub, so you have to walk through it to reception). Staff were very polite and helpful. Free wifi. Breakfast from 07.00am. Good food in the evening and breakfast.

My main gripe was the quality of the wifi, as it kept dropping out on more than one device, ranging from a few seconds to the most of around five minutes and it would generally take some time to reconnect. In addition, I could get no reception at all in the dining area. There was one young lady serving in the evening, who was very nice, but was rushed, as more staff were needed in my view. I subsequently had to wait a significant time for my bill (not the young ladies problem, as she was dong her very best). If you can put up with these two items, I would recommend the hotel and I would stay here again.

The Hotel is located in a rural area, surrounded by fields. It is a great place to explore the Cotswold and the Hotel is not far from the main famous cities of the Cotswold. We had a nice spacious family room with two single beds and one double bed. The room was cosy with everything you want. On the ground floor of the Hotel, the is a nice restaurant that serves delicious food. I recommend this hotel.

Perhaps there is a stall with cows or horses nearby. I felt the smell of them.

Breakfast was great, staff were hugely accommodating and pleasant. Room was a good size and in a good location with two dogs where we wouldn’t disturb other guests so much. Brilliant to be able to bring the dogs.

The room decor could maybe have been a little fresher - but it wasn’t a big deal. Couldn’t find any outside bins to dispose properly of dog mess.
