The owners and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room and restaurant and bar areas were very cosy and I ate well every evening I stayed. The breakfast was also good and at both dinner and breakfast my dietary requirements for gluten free foods were addressed quickly and without fuss which I greatly appreciated. The Greek yoghurt is DIVINE!! The hotel even agreed to keep my own home made soups in their fridge which meant I didn’t have to worry about lunches on the course I needed to attend. For all these reasons, I have booked my next stay at this hotel for which I was offered an upgrade. This hotel is special and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable and to help you out. So thank you.
The room I stayed in was a little on the small side and had a chimney breast in one wall which made the room very warm at night, which might appeal to some people but not for others like myself.

My stay by far exceeded my expectations. What was a quick stopover I wish I could have stayed longer. The room was exactly as shown in the pictures, very warm and cosy and comfortable bed with good pillows (and spares!) Great amenities with everything readily available (welcome note and chocolate, hairdryer, iron&board, great range of tea and coffee). All of the staff I encountered were excellent and friendly especially as someone travelling solo (from check-in, to bar and restaurant, breakfast staff and checkout). I would definitely recommend if location suits your needs as best to get to via car.
Nothing!

dinner was just what we wanted and considering its location (as are as you can get from the sea )the fish and chips were excellent . when booking I forgot to mention i have to use oxygen and need ground floor or a lift, Our room was quickly changed to one on the ground floor. I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. As i had been born in the the village I do intend to come back for another visit and I will certainly stay at the Castle Hotel
the one thing the hotel could do nothing about which was the poor weather - this week Leicestershire managed to break the record for the most rainfall for this time of year

Good choices for breakfast with cheerful and helpful servers. Sensible portions of bread with the cooked breakfast and tasty bread for the toast. I liked the decor and the colours and fabrics of furnishings. Handy seating areas. I enjoyed the dinner and lunch that I had. Service was good and there were some nice touches, like homemade biscuits. We were able to park very near to our room. Our room was reasonably quiet, though the kitchen was close by and bottles got put in the bin fairly regularly.
We thought the king room was rather small and there was only one chair.

Stayed here for sons Leicester Uni graduation (Uber cost £10-15 from hotel to Victoria Park/DeMontford Hall) Very clean and comfortable rooms-the bed was very comfortable which made for a good nights sleep Good pub grub reasonably priced Staff were all lovely -special shout out to Caroline who organised a late check out for unexpected illness
The bathroom was lovely and very modern but the shower tray didn’t drain quick enough so the bathroom flooded very quickly when I showers .I was on my hands and knees trying to mop up the water with a spare towel.I didn’t mention this to the hotel because of our unexpected illness and having to sort out a late check out.Im sure if I did the staff would have done all they could to sort it out

Breakfast was very good. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. One bedside light was not working when we arrived but after we mentioned it, it was fixed the next day. We had dinner in the hotel each night of our stay and the food was very good and again, the service was prompt and friendly.
Unusual to say this (because in many hotels this is not the case) but, the shower was too powerful for the (large) shower tray and easily flooded the bathroom if you were not really careful, especially as the water was very, very hot.

We arrived to a warm welcome and to find that we’d been upgraded to a superior room. The room itself was lovely, with a large, comfortable bed, sofa and armchairs providing plenty of places to relax. All the amenities we could need were provided, and the room was cool even though it was a warm night, and quiet despite being directly over the bar/restaurant area. We had dinner and breakfast in the pub and both were delicious. The location near the M1 was perfect for us to break our journey down south, and we’ll definitely be returning here in the future.

Breakfast - good choice. well presented and cooked Room - Good size bedroom. Comfortable kind size bed bed. Large bathroom. Dinner - Good choice on menu. Staff polite and attentive. (this was extra to the price of our stay)
Breakfast - no oat milk for cereal. Only a choice of cow's milk or soya milk. Room - too hot. It wasn't an overly warm day, but even with the windows open all night it was very warm in the room. Bathroom - unfortunately the shower cubicle leaked when showering. We did advise the owner of this when we left.

From checking in to the final breakfast, everything went really well. As a poor sleeper normally, I even had a good night's sleep. Staff were really nice, easy to get on with, and very helpful. Clearly put the visitor at ease, and 'first priority'. Cooked full English breakfast was outstanding !! I know the area very well. I grew up round here 60 years ago!
To be really, really, trivial - I did struggle to read in bed - the bedsite light was a bit dim !! (Try a couple more Watts!). So if that's the only dislike (just bit of inconvenience really), then it follows that everything else was just great !

This is a really nice little hotel with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Everything was immaculate and the finish of the room is great. The room is well equipped with everything you need from tea & coffee facilities along with things like a fan, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. The hotel bar and garden was really busy and it's clear this is a well loved little place in the village.
Maybe a little noise from the kitchen area below the window to this particular room, however, this is expected from a busy hotel and didn't go on too late, really not causing an issue.
